Anybody know what could be causing the true leaves to have brown spots like this? The rest of the plant looks fine.

This looks like a healthy plant to me! I don’t see any major signs of deficiencies or anything that should be a concern just yet. One thing that often gets overlooked—but isn’t necessarily a problem—is water splash burns. Sometimes, when watering, little droplets can land on the leaves. Under strong light, these droplets can act like tiny magnifying glasses, intensifying the light and causing small burn spots. That’s what this looks like to me. If the rest of the plant is thriving, I wouldn’t worry at all. Just be mindful when watering to avoid splashing on the leaves. Other than that, this little plant looks great, and you’re doing a fine job!

I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts spreading. They just get like that sometimes.
