Collected rainwater for outdoor infested with dead flies

I wanna use rainwater which collects in a barrel. I'm using it for other plants but I wonder: Are eggs or similar gonna be a problem for my young cannabis plants? There are hundreds of dead mosquito and other small flies on the water surface that I see sticking to my watering can

Yeah I’d skip using that water, especially on young cannabis. Dead flies and mosquito larvae mean you’ve probably got bacteria, fungus, and possibly eggs in there, even if it looks clear. That’s fine for tomatoes or hardy stuff, but weed can be picky when young. It’s not just about “eggs,” it’s about what’s starting to rot in that barrel. If you really want to use it, at least filter it and boil or UV treat it first, but honestly, better to just use clean tap or filtered until they’re bigger. Keep that rain barrel covered next time too, it helps keep the bugs out.

As long as the water does not stink, it will be just fine...........cannabis is a weed that has survived unaided in nature for thousands of years, it is not some sort of delicate princess perfect fern! I try to use rainwater whenever I can........the water may sit around for six months or more berore use and contain all sorts of bugs and I have never had a problem with my plants that could be traced back to the water, even with seeds/seedlings. There is absolutely no need to filter it, boil it, UV treat it or do anything to it at all.........your plants will not be bothered by a few insects or "eggs".

I would say outdoor okay, indoor not. Probably depends on the soil you are using, too. As you are collecting rain water I suppose it should be fine😅
