Looks like the Grandmommy Purple is trying to pop the seed. Looks like a bulge on the side of the seed. Anyone ever seen a late germinating seed do this???

Hey Growmie, Yes, that bulge you're seeing on the side of the seed during germination is pretty common, especially with tougher or late-germinating seeds like Grandmommy Purple. It usually means the seed has absorbed enough moisture and is starting to split open, with the taproot or inner growth pushing against the shell. Sometimes, instead of cracking cleanly down the seam, the pressure causes a bulge in a weaker spot. This is a good sign that things are happening internally, the seed is alive and trying to break free. It’s also worth noting that some strains, particularly indica-dominant ones, have harder shells and take a bit longer to crack. As long as the seed isn’t mushy or showing signs of mold, it’s best to give it a little more time. If it's been stuck like that for several days without progress, you can try gently scarifying it or assisting the crack, but in most cases, patience pays off.

Seems on par with germination, if it does not pop a tail soon or the casing cracks then its an issue.

yes. they swell with water trying to germinate and sometimes the seed shell is too hard for everything to burst
