Hello Green Community, I plan to use my composted chicken manure for my ladies soon. I have the following questions: What ratio would you recommend for 50 liters of soil, a scoop of composted chicken manure + perlite + wood ash? Should I pay attention to pH value?

Hey, sounds like a nice, organic setup! Composted chicken manure is very nutrient-rich, so you should dose it carefully, especially with young plants. Recommended ratio for 50 liters of soil: 1 scoop (about 1-1.5 liters) of well-composted chicken manure 10-15 liters of perlite (20-30%) for good drainage 1-2 handfuls of wood ash (no more - contains a lot of potassium and can raise pH)

Hi, That's not a problem, at the end of the day it really depends on the nutrient values in the chicken manure based on how much should be added. I'm a fan of starting off light and then topdressing to add the necessary rest... You don't need to worry about the pH value, as the soil life will regulate that, but you might want to let the mixed substrate sit for a week at the right moisture to activate and get the microbial life going.
