a photoperiod shortening is HOW you indicate an ending season...cold spells and cold water and crying in front of the plants for vibes or whatever is just a stressor. The plant is going to be looking for photoperiod clues to know how long it has left at a maximum unless you run until ripe on stem. short photoperiod = dying very soon
just know your math for lights is gonna change, the intensity will change, making your water consumption likely change, meaning nutes might change....just adjust accordingly and shorten the photoperiod if you're in a rush.
