Organic nutrients

Started using organic nutrients from the Crazy Hills lineup. For starters they don’t smell great but after mixing in my tank, the smell gets worse after a couple of days 🤢. The plants are doing well and show no deficiencies so far. Should I be worried about the bad smell?

Arw you giving the mix a good stir once or twice a day? It will start to stink but it shouldnt be unbearable, make sure to give it a stir, if you dont see any issues with the plants then dont over worry it, id only worry if yhe plants started to suffer. With these kinds of nutes, they can sit on the bottom and create there own environment and additional bactwria can breed. Occasionally stirring should help. Drop me a DM if any furthwr info is needed, ile be following along with your diary also. If you think this message has helped would you please mark as the answer to this question. Feel free to dm anytime in the future if you need further help my man.

I also think it could get problematic because it builds up fungi and bacteria that can damage your plants. We want fungi and bacteria but only the beneficial ones. It’s necessary for organic nutrients to be processed by fungi and bacteria to become available for the plants. Mineral nutrients are available as they are for the plants. So I would think about what I want to do and decide based on that if u change the system or the nutrient. Wouldn’t use organic nutrients in a reservoir setup. Just some thoughts if it was my problem😉 good luck and happy growing anyway

are they meant to be in a resviour?? some organic are designed to be mixed up and fed asap not stored longer then 24hrs as they will stink up the place. they also can develop biofilms that clog and narrow pumps/tubes. I don't see anything online for directions of use. so maybe its on the bottle somewhere? Or can email them. They should be able to answer that question fairly quickly.

That tank looks wild to me, the color and opacity of the water is highly suspect IMO. If I had to guess at a culprit, I'd say the fox blend but either way where is your aeration and water flow? Even if you're doing dirty hydro (organic living solution) there are ways to do it that make more sense. Like starting off sterile every week and slowly shifting towards a living solution, peaking right before swapping weekly. This gets you the best of both worlds. No matter what you're doing or why, that water is gonna be doing a crusade against any equipment you let it touch. Get ready to deep clean anything that touches that water (and anything like pumps taken apart and soaked down to individual screws). Take water and let it sit for a week. Then drink it. Take water, add all essentials for a microbiome and flora to thrive, and let it sit for a week. Then drink it. When you're ready to not get sickly any longer, take that same water and lock in the temperature, pH, add aeration, and keep the water moving constantly. Then drink it (without a trip to the ER most likely). That is what appears to be the issue to me.

Personally, wouldn't mix up organic Nutes for a tank to sit in for a while. Clogs the System (if one used) reeks and who knows how the composition changes after you let it ferment for a while. If your Plants don't care, you can do the same, but personally investing like 10 mins mixing a fresh soup a couple of times a week max instead of cleaning the tank for hours afterward seems more reasonable for me. I guess, don't inhale too much if you are worried about the smell solely. lul

Most natural nute is shot, doubt it smells nice to anyone ;) Most organic nutes have very similar smell and its not so ugly. If smells changes, means some processes happening, check ph drift , i water manually, so i never keep my feed mixed , maybe its normal, but i would triple check ph.
