To Scrog, or not to Scrog?

Obviously I'm a long way away from making a call on this, but since these are autoflowers, should I be Mainlining or Scrogging them to get the best results? I don't mind the grow taking more time than "advertised", I just want to get the best results for the plant.

That's up to you and how confident you feel with your grows in general and what your target is, HST tends to stretch the Veg time by a week or two or at least that's my impression when I compare with other growers that don't train as intensively, LST works wonders as well ✌️ ♥️ Apple Fritter RQS growdiaries.com/diaries/190515-royal-queen-seeds-apple-fritter-automatic-grow-journal-by-yan402/week/1143525 Runtz Auto Kannabia growdiaries.com/diaries/235033-runtz-auto-grow-journal-by-yan402/week/1385813

ill just tell you there's not really enough time to hst the auto plant with manifolding or mainlining. i tried and all you do is end up cutting your yeilds way back best thing to do is let it do its thing and scrog like week 1 of flower imo. spread her out and watch the buds appear.

If its auto then the work you do won't prolong anything I think you've got mixed up there, don't do any hst just bend her over from the start to get lower limbs more light and tuck leaves behind each other were needed...

LST works best on autos. HST can be to much. Google LST vs HST to get a broad understandong on it. Some sites have some nice guides.

For autos, I’d skip mainlining since it’s quite stressful and they don’t have enough veg time to recover properly. A light LST and maybe a gentle mini Scrog works great though it helps open the canopy, boost airflow and maximize light penetration Start training early (around day 15–20) and you’ll get great results without slowing her down too much

Hi there. As a grower with 2 similar sized tents, in my experience a little LST and a scrog net would be more than adequate to create an even canopy. I grow several plants at once comprising of several different strains and without a net to tame the wild ones it would be difficult to manage them equally. Unless you particulary want to gain some experience with mainling I would employ a scrog before the stretch begins to ensure that all bud sites are receiving the same light intensity (PPFD and DLI) during flowering stage. Once you are happy with this technique then perhaps on your next grow consider mainlining. Although LST and a scrog should cover pretty much any scenario in a small tent, it is good to gain practical experience through different techniques. If you fix the net at preflower stage it will serve you better than waiting till the stretch and then trying to fold and bend unruly stems that may snap under too much pressure. I have learned this too my cost. Gentle handling and a little preparation are key. I wish you a trouble free grow dude and when in doubt ask, there is a lot of very good advice here to those willing to learn. I find a mosey through some of the historically solved questions is very educational too. 😃
