Anyone else has done calculations of the litters/gallons capacity for the spider farmer dwc bucket? They claim 7 gallons 26-27lt but is seems that number is for the bucket full NOT under the net pot which is around 16lt. Can anyone else confirm?

The bucket is tapered downward so that volume calculation is off. google "calculate the volume of a tapered square bucket" and it will provide you with the correct formula. find out the height of the basket in the middle and you will be able to do it. V=h/3(a2+ab+b2) Or just email them. DWC you do not need as much space as you would a soil grow. I still think the amount of room is sufficient for home growing. You could do what others have done in the past and make their own outta massive home depo tubs.

I don’t know about spider farmer DWC, but that is how I grow. So yes you have to account for the pot the plant sits in which will lower the total liter/gal. I use 5 gal buckets and they can only take 3 gals of solution.

They will be listing the size of the buckets, there might be another sentence in the description describing water weight?
