m0useanswered grow question 2h ago Sorta... Depends how good of a grower you are.
Mine went like this :
I was contacted via a spiderfarmer rep on GD, not the official main one, but a person claiming to be a rep, common account not business.
We talked about what they could send me and what I'd have to do in return for said goods.
Once we agreed and haggled a bit I signed a contact and they sent it out.
I did not pay a single cent for anything, everything was shipped to me at no cost.
For reference I got a 100w entry level light and a 2x2 tent.
If they are asking you to pay. then its not "a sponsorship" and they can eat shit or its a scam.
If you want a more expensive product then they are willing to offer, then you will need to pay. They normally discount it for you.
Or just take the intro stuff. If you do good, they will give you better options next run/year should they like what they see.
Point of order, don't rate or talk about their things in any negative way or they won't renew you, You are acting a brand rep sorta, sunshine and rainbows always. They say you can be honest but that's not true if you want continued sponsorship. Grow Diaries is a marketing platform, full top, everything else is just extra. They are giving you free shit for you to market their products via diaries. plane and simple.
Also don't let them get away with asking for to many things with shity entry level equipment.
Do a cost point annalist. If a light is only 150$ what is that work in time for you.... some company originally wanted 8 dairies for basic entry levels gear, I said no, if they can't appreciate your time they don't deserve it. Also low balling someone when the brand reaches out to the grower is wack. Shit products 1-2 diaries, better products 3-5 dearies, great products 6-9 diaries. Some people can run 5+ diaries in a single run. They want numbers so their brands looks like its being used more. A single diary with 6 strains in it is still only one diary. But 6 separate diaries for 6diffrent strains in the same tent is 6x more and what they are after.
