Cal/Mag Deficit

Unfortunately, I made a mistake with the Calmag dose and only gave 0.5 ml/L beforehand. Then I used the Calmag calculator and realised that I need to give 3.11 ml/L in early flowering. I did that today. Will the plant catch up? Do I have to give it every time I water now?

hey 👋 Don’t worry, it was caught in time, ur plant will recover. The affected leaves won’t become healthy again, but as long as the new growth is, you’re on the right track. One last thing: 3 ml of Cal-Mag seems like a lot to me. If I were you, I’d start with 2 ml as a corrective dose, then go down to 1.5 ml once it’s resolved. PS: Add Cal-Mag every time you water with nutrients (in soil: every other watering; in coco: at every watering).

Well, magnesium deficiency is still showing up, but it takes a little while to bounce back. I am seeing some yellowing from the bottom as well, perhaps nitrogen deficiency.

It should bounce back. I'm not sure what nutrients you're using so I can't give specific details. In my experience with bottles nutrients, you'll want to feed every 3rd watering.

If I have the correct nutrient % of biobizz cal mag (4.2% ca; 1.7%mg) you are right with the 3.11ml/L to give you 130ppm of calcium. This (130ppm) is the amount of calcium needed in hydroponic grows (dwc / coco) in the flower stage. You could go lower down to 1.9ml/L if you want to once the deficiency is corrected. This would give 80ppm Ca and 32ppm Mg. (You only need 15ppm of Mg). I would water with cal mag every watering if you’re in coco. Calcium is immobile, meaning the plant can’t move the calcium around (it can move N, P and K) so you will still see damaged leaves but new growth should start to look fine. Good luck!
