Hey. The answer is a bit long. Sorry. Compost tea is a liquid infusion obtained by soaking mature compost in water, usually with an oxygen supply. Unlike solid compost that nourishes the soil in the long term, the tea acts as an immediate "boost." Here are the details to understand how it works and why to use it. What is it, concretely? There are two main types, but the most effective is Oxygenated Compost Tea (OCT): You place compost in a porous bag (like a net). You submerge it in water. You often add a food source for the bacteria (like molasses). You use an air pump (like an aquarium) to oxygenate the water for 24 to 48 hours. This allows for the exponential multiplication of beneficial microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, protozoa) present in the compost. What is it used for? Compost tea is not just a fertilizer; it's a concentrate of life. Its roles are multiple: 1. Boosting soil health It reintroduces active biology into the soil. These microorganisms decompose organic matter to make it directly assimilable by plant roots. 2. Strengthening plant immune systems By spraying the tea on the leaves (foliar application), the good bacteria occupy the space. This creates a physical barrier that prevents fungal diseases (fungi like powdery mildew or downy mildew) from settling in. 3. I'm doing a FFJ with bananas and jaggery, takes 3 weeks to make though.. Same amount of slices bananas with skin on. The browner the better.. to grated jaggery or molasses layered in a glass jar with a cloth lid in a dark space for 3 weeks. 500g of each.. Your not going to get enough nutrients to feed your plants alone with compost tea in the way your on about. 24hr bubble....

yeah bruv, skip the noise lol. you arent trying to recreate 10000 years of a soil web in a single amendment or a build soil from nothing...which is where so many folks get lost dont be one of the clowns that has a 12 lb bag of worm castings and a 8 lb bag of bat viruses sitting around just to learn about organics. when you bloom yeast do you go and add feces and worms and fish guts to it? no, because honey or sucralose is just fine. compost tea is simply a sugar source and a microbe source, get as simple or as complicated as you want... there is a ton of nuance here. aerating a compost tea has additional benefits which are all nominal except the transition from beneficial microbes to predation by protozoa. this all happens on really quick time frames, and requires a gridded microscope, but applying a tea with a microbe surplus is an entirely different intention than applying one with a protozoa surplus long, long, long story short is that microbes will be taking non-bioavailable forms of nutrition from the soil inputs (99.9999999999999999999999999999999% already there and likely needs nothing amended for most cases) and makes it available to the plant by eating it, then subsequently being eaten by protozoa then pooped. that protozoa poop is, generally speaking, available to the plant. this is the logic behind every single 'no till' or 'no feed' soil, simply keep the microbial life up to par until harvest
