Silica and seedlings

How much silica do you add to your grow? how soon after the seedling sprouts do you start? I was thinking of starting week 2 (is that too soon)? I'm will be using general hydroponics armor SI (0-0-4) and FoxFarm Happy Frog soil.

Start adding silica around week 2 which is a good timing and not too early because seedlings in the first week do not need extra additives, use about 1–2 mL per liter (4–8 mL per gallon) of General Hydroponics Armor SI for soil, always mix the silica in water first before adding other nutrients and then adjust pH to 6.0–6.5, apply it with every feeding but do not increase the dose because silica is mainly for strengthening stems and improving stress resistance, and since you are using FoxFarm Happy Frog soil which already contains nutrients keep your base feeding light in the beginning and let the silica support plant structure and overall health.

Hi Smoke-N-Sew,
When I use silica, I start it around week 2-3 of vegging. I use Rhino Skin as silica, exclusively. I start half of the recommended dose and keep feeding it until mid-flowering.
In my opinion week 2 is okay.

It's derived from potassium silicate, there are other ways to add silica organically, up to you if you want soil and use salts or living soil with microbes

First, Silica is a non-essential supplement…
Second, Happy Frog soil is a living soil, it needs beneficial fungus like mycorrhiza and trichoderma, and natural organic compounds like humic and fulvic acids
Armor Si is a 0-0-4 with 4% of K2O, don’t start to put salt base nutrients in an living soil or you’re going to kill all the beneficial bacteria…

DAT IS A GOOD TIME!!! I WOULD START WITH A LOW DOSE .25ML/LITER!!! DA SILICA MUST BE ADDED TO THE WATER FIRST ALLOWED TO FULLY DISSOLVE!!!! IF YOU PLAN ON USING OTHER NUTRIENTS!!!! DA PH MUST BE ADJUSTED BEFORE OTHER NUTRIENTS ARE ADDED TO PREVENT DA FORMATION OF INSOLUBLE PRECIPITATES DAT DA PLANT CANNOT ABSORB!!!!
