1st outdoor auto. 16L fabric boxer root pouch. I know autos are burn-sensitive. Is my 10cm BioBizz LightMix / 14cm Plagron Batmix split safe or better ratio/advice? Also, any general advice on the timing for liquid nutrients and additives? All advice welcom, thanks !

Hey Growmie, congrats on the first outdoor run! That layering idea is actually spot on for autos. 10cm of LightMix on top is perfect so the seedlings don't get "burned" right away. By the time the roots hit the Batmix at the bottom, they’re usually strong enough to handle the extra juice. Regarding the nutrients: Honestly, with that Batmix at the bottom, you’re good for a while. I’d stay away from liquid grow nutes for the first 4-6 weeks. That soil has plenty of power. Just watch the plant – as long as the leaves stay nice and green, she’s happy. Only start feeding once she hits flower or if you notice the bottom leaves starting to fade. You can definitely use root stims from day one though, helps a ton with filling out that 16L pot. Good luck with it! Happy Growing Growmie 🌱

Never layer soils, always mix them thoroughly. Plant roots grow deep rapidly making layers pointless........besides, it is not ideal to have varied "diets" for steady growth. You are using quality soil, so you should not need to fertilize for at least the first 3 weeks. Autos generally get by on half strength fertilizers. I prefer a schedule of plain water/plain water/fertilizer when growing in soil...........it is very easy to rescue a slightly under fed plant, but very, very difficult to rescue a burned and damaged over fed plant! Autos outdoors are best planted closer to the Summer Solistice where the days are the longest for best results. Cold overnight temps like now will really slow growth and lead to dwarf plants flowering.
