@ChubbyBudBros, good to know my diary checks out! That's what I like about GrowD, that we can check on each other's grows. I checked your diary too and indeed, I noticed the air temperature was 29°C! What was the PPFD during that time? I reckon 35-40cm would only give about 400 PPFD on the canopy?
ChubbyBudBros
@DutchBarnacle, Yeah the PPFD was only like ~550 at the top buds, so lower was probably around 400 indeed, didn't get any dense buds at all, but learned a lot for a first grow! Lesson learned that I will never be growing in the summer again  FYI, if you want there is an RQS official Discord that's pretty active if you wanna join that, lots of people helping each other out.

@ChubbyBudBros, that's a great comment, thanks! About 15cm indeed, it variaties between 15 to max 30cm in bloom. There's 'only' 80 watts shining down on the highest budsites, culminating to about 950 PPFD. That drops down to 600 PPFD about 15 more cm down. Auto's can take incredible amounts of light and - to my knowledge - the main reason for leaf burn is not light intensity but rather temperature. Since it's turning winter here, temperatures outside the tent are dropping, providing a steady stream of cooled air between light and canopy. With its max output of 100 watt, the SF-1000 has proven unlikely to burn the plants I've grown with it so far. If I'd be running an SF-4000, it would permanently be at the top of the tent.

@DutchBarnacle, wow super interesting thanks, I didn't know that if the temps stay low enough it can actually manage such a close distance. I see now that your day time temp says 22°C, so that makes sense then. If you look at the purplematic diary on my profile, you'll see towards the end my plant was having bad leaf burn from the SF1000 at like 35-40cm's high. But it was middle of the summer with temps reaching 27-29°C in the tent consistantly.

@Jcoutdoor, Thanks man! She has been very fun to grow so far, very smooth going and the smell is amazing. Enjoy the ride!

@DutchBarnacle, Haha good to know it has that effect on other people too. I think the reason for the very sturdy stem is that, to try and slow down the main branch, I cut off the upper most fan leaves a few times, which did slow the main stem's growth lengthwise, but it gained more width because of it. I'm excited myself to see how bud development will look like in a few weeks.
