Gorilla Girl XL Auto

Vape Report: Gorilla Girl XL Auto No surprise, I really like this one! I said at the start it promises a lot and I haven’t been disappointed. It has a pungent aroma, that is immediately hash-like, heavy and earthy, but then there is a sort of fruitiness or citrus that’s underneath. When I vape it I find there’s a complex taste, more sweet and nutty more earthy, but a bit of both. It’s similar to the Sweet Gelato Auto I grew before, which is not surprising, but not the same. The effect is not subtle at all, I find it a buzzy uplifting high that has more of a cerebral side than most other autos I’ve grown. I don’t find it sleepy or couch-locking, more like the opposite. Instead it seems to inspire thoughts and either push me to focus on something, or be happy to sit and watch something interesting. It’s been a great one for music, listening and playing.

Vape Report: Cream Caramel Auto There is a fruity freshness in the smell that comes out when it is ground up, very pleasant and sweet. When I vape it, it is very smooth and easy, the fruitiness is a background note in a more general creamy flavour. It is tasty, but the flavour is not a strong overpowering one. It’s a relaxing, laid back high. I seem to feel it rise up from my legs and through my body first, then follow into the head where it stays for a few hours. It’s a great one to have before bed, but also it can be nice in the daytime too, if I have time to sit back and relax and feel nice but don’t want to feel too mangled. Vape Report: Ice Cool Auto Ice Cool Auto is the strain I had grown before. I just wanted more of what I got last year really, one of my favourite plants ever. I’ve only sampled this a little bit, but it’s not disappointed me so far. It’s not quite the same but it’s 90% there. The smell and taste were very strong with the last plant, whereas this time it’s just a little less. It’s very similar to before, very sweet and sugary smell, almost vanilla. I notice light earthy and spicy undertones in the smell I don’t remember so much from last time. This adds a bit of woodiness to the sweet taste when I’ve vaped it. The effects are perfect to me. Very relaxing physically, accompanied with a mental massage that gets my mind wondering and pondering. It’s good in lower doses where the cerebral side is more stimulating, or in larger amounts where it will push me back into a chair, happy and relaxed but not sleepy. The last one had great strength, and so far this one seems just as potent.

Vape Report: Dark Devil Auto I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I’m not quite sure why but I had a preconceived idea it wasn’t going to smell or taste very nice, I thought it was all about the looks with this one. Actually it has a very pleasant aroma, very sweet and floral with background incense notes. There’s something extra to it, almost like mint or eucalyptus. This translates into a lovely rich sweet flavour, I would say floral and lavender tones dominate. I have had cannabis with this quality before (the particular smell, but not the colour), but it was a long time ago before I grew my own, and I remember it distinctly and have wondered what it was ever since. I sometimes wish I had the knowledge and language to be able to accurately describe it, so I could say for example, this plant must have had a lot of this terpene or that terpene, but I just don’t. Then I could find it in other strains, it is a flavour I really like. I’ve really enjoyed the effects, which I find are light and uplifting. It’s a great daytime vape. It’s not especially powerful and it’s more of a relaxed, meandering mindset I find myself in, compared to some other more sativa types which get thoughts racing. It’s been great for creative inspiration, where it can oil the brain a bit to loosen up some ideas, but then give some energy and focus to keep going. The more subtle effects, combined with the lovely taste makes it very moreish!

Both the other plants are good, but the Ice Cool Auto is my favourite. It's like the best bits of the other two. The smell is sugary sweet, like jellybeans or marshmallow, with an element of lemon too. In the vape, the taste becomes more complex and perfumed, but still sweet. I like it a lot, it's strong but not quite as in-your-face as the Sweet Trainwreck Auto. The high is a great hybrid effect, exactly what I was looking for. It hits me hard, quickly, and lasts for a long time. It's very physically relaxing, and can feel like a full body massage as it sweeps across me. Cerebrally, the effects are very strong and intoxicating, taking me away and losing me in strange thoughts. It's perhaps one of the most potent plants I have grown too, it really does kick. This isn't one to toke a lot of when you have something to do!

Unlike the others I grew this time, my Sweet Gelato Auto does not have a strong smell. It's a faint, woody, nutty odour that has a sweet edge to it. The flavour builds on this, it is subtle at first but comes through nice and rich with repeated tokes. The sweet taste reminds me of hazelnuts and walnuts and is very smooth. There is a slight lemony undertone I cannot really smell but get as an aftertaste. It's really nice, more like a brownie than ice cream, but still could go on a dessert menu. It's laid back but satisfying in effects as well. I find it doesn't hit me hard in the head, at least at first, so it is easy to reload for another tasty go. It has more of a physical side to it, very relaxing and calming and not one to send my mind racing. I find I get red eyes quickly from this strain. It's a great evening strain, after dinner is a good time for this one. I wasn't sure I was going to get something to fill the indica slot on my menu from this grow, but this fits the bill perfectly. Overall the strength is somewhere between medium and strong - I definitely would say the heavy hitters I have done have had more of a kick, but it might partly be the nature of the high, and also a psychological factor from the low key smell and easy smooth vape.

Sweet Trainwreck Auto is very potent-smelling, it absolutely stinks. A citrus smell is up front. When I open a jar it immediately fills the room and smells like I've stumbled on a secret ganja patch in the middle of an orange farm, it is overpowering and unmistakably incriminating. The taste is smooth but very strong, sweet and almost tangy with citrus, and a mild earthyness like hash afterwards. It's very very nice. I find it very potent in sativa-like effects and I find it more of an energy-giver than energy-taker. I soon feel my mind start to gently accelerate and this can be great for focusing on a task if I harness it, or just pottering about. It also has a nice buzz to it too, so if I want to I can just lay back and relax. It seems to put me in a great mood, very uplifting. It has been a long time since I was giggly from toking but this stuff has had me smiling.

The Jack 47 Auto is really nice, surprisingly very sweet and fruity. The compost version smells like bananas, melons and tropical fruit and it tastes like weedy pineapple rock, it is very special. The coco version is very similar but just not as strong flavoured. The high seems more subtle than the Killer Kush Auto I have, it seems nice and relaxing, in a happy, not sleepy way. I am not sure, it's perhaps not quite as strong as the Killer Kush or the Cream Mandarine XL Auto but still potent. Stronger than the Fast Bud #2 of which I have a tiny bit left. I realise now this is personal preference and I just don't like Jack Herer-type things as much as other cannabis, so I would revise the score up a notch to 8/10 since it was a tasty strain with a good effect.

Cream Mandarine XL Auto®

The Cream Mandarine XL Auto is very strong in effect, at least from the bigger coco plant. It seems to have more of a sativa effect. It's very subjective, I don't have a lot of experience with sativas and I think I personally don't notice them so much at lower levels when the effects are less physical than indicas, it's just what I am used to. However it doesn't take a lot of this stuff, and I get type of high that can leave me wondering from room to room, wandering "what did I come in here for?" going round in circles literally and mentally. When I did have a lot of it, I got to a point where I had red glassy eyes and said some of the daftest things I ever have to my wife, and ate way too many Christmas goodies. The compost version really does smell like mandarins, more of a planty orange smell than a sweet fruity one, but it does smell delicious. It's not very strong in odour. I want to save it and cure it to make the most of it. I had a quick taste but it wasn't much beyond hay at that point. The coco version on the other hand smells very strongly. There is a background orange note similar to the compost version, but on top of this is a much stronger heavy stench that I can only really describe as cannabis. I'm sorry that isn't very useful but it's all I think of when I smell this. It reminds me of some of the strong smelling UK black market weed I used to buy in the early noughties, and opening the jar is quite nostalgic for me actually. I'm hoping it might become a bit more orange in the cure but I don't mind. Flavour wise, there is quite a strong and distinct taste I am struggling to put into words too. It doesn't quite taste of citrus fruit, as it's not sweet like that. A bit woody maybe, like orange ganja potpourri?
