, I planted my new seed Tuesday night and it still hasn’t broke the ground. It’s now Friday afternoon. How long does it take to sprout? Does planting them outside fry the seedlings?

@GuavaBoy
, I can't tell you. In my case, the seedlings always looked yellow first and then green a day later. After 9 days, more or less large leaves should already have grown. But I don't have that much experience yet. Maybe someone else can help you. I would keep watering and see if anything changes.

, the only option I have is outdoors. Does planting outside fry the seedlings? Is ok to use a humidity dome or doesn’t matter?

@GuavaBoy
, As mentioned, I would never germinate or place young seedlings outdoor where I can't control the VPD (vapor pressure deficit). The diurnal shift (difference between night and day) is too much in a lot of locations, when they are very fragile and it is the time they demand the most attention from the cultivator.

, So continue using a humidity dome outside?

@BudBeezy
, are you talking about the seedling with the yellow leaves or the one that the shell fell off?

@GuavaBoy
, umm, germination doesn't involve loosening anything up. it involves giving those 3 things I mentioned and waiting. Your soil should be moist enough to maintain an optimal humidity level without drowning the plant.

, the shell finally fell off after using some water drops. Should it really started growing now? I just posted a pic and planted a new seed.

@BudBeezy
, yes I just said that. It died. I’m talking about the one with the seed on top. Will it come off or should I pull it off? It’s been 8 days now. BuildASoil light mix.

@GuavaBoy
, Unfortunately, the seedling looks dead in the last picture. What soil did you use? Seedling soil with very few nutrients is best to start with.

@resi_max
, so should I continue to put drops of water or mist on the seed to loosen it up?

@GuavaBoy
, it's normal for the casing to stay on for weeks, even through harvest. That doesn't matter at all. What matters is that the cotyledon (round leaves) do their job to provide energy for true leaves to form.

@resi_max
, what about the one with the seed on top? It’s growing tall but the seed just won’t come off. Will it eventually come off? It’s been 8 days. I put some water drops on top to try and loosen it up. I think I have to plant deeper next time
