@GYOweed,from my experience, total THC is like saying total sugar in a meal..does it mean sweet sugar that is pleasing to taste, or just starch which is more like filler..is it vanilla or chocolate, moist or dry...in a nutshell, it's the entourage effect of the amount of THC, not THCA or THCVA, as well as the volatile oils, esters, alcohols, and terpenes..
Essentially, you could test a plant at 35% total THC compounds, with a true THC at 11%, and it would be a weaker strain than one that tested 22% total THC compounds with a true THC at 15%.. then the limonene, and pinene have an add effect to the psychoactive properties among others...
Genetics is only 1/3 of the picture, phenotype being the second third and the ability of the grower to get the plant to express it's true potential is the last third...
@ObiWanKaRobbie, nah. I used to but I couldn't get them enough light - they kept falling over. The lophs really struggled as well - they were all very oddly stretched until last year when I built them this light box. They're looking much better these days!
