<span class="link_user">@Oldsmokyvet</span>, rain is no problem during veg stage. Late flowering you might want to cover but this time of year you’re fine. Could Drill some holes in the bucket sides for air access to the roots. Good luck.

Breathable fabric pots are good (much better than pails) and like Mouse said bigger pots can be better. Small pots (3 gal) can overheat quickly. In ground is best but 5 or 7 gallon bags for these autos can be moved to direct sun or into hiding if needed. Grow like you would tomatoes and you’ll do fine. Good luck.
