I think the dying has to do with the temperatures. I also tried to plant early this year and have lost lots of little ones. I've only been successful now after day temps reached 20'C

Hey, good luck with that! I hope you'll be safe from mold. Definitely keep an eye on it, I had a plant on my balcony which suffered from mold and powdery mildew although it was properly sheltered from the rain.
