Buds fattening up nice

Hello fellow growers! This is my first entry on growdiaries. I've been growing for about two and a half years, and got most of my knowledge following other growers from this site. I've decided to start sharing my own grows, so I can learn from experienced growers even more, and help other growers too if I can. This is around my 7th grow now. I didn't document any of the veg for this plant, and only started documenting since Week 4, but going forward I will be trying to document the whole cycle of the plant. I'm running x2 ETHOS Fanta Sea RBX & x2 ETHOS Citradellic Sunset. I vegged them for around two months in 1 liter pots, than transplanted them to the larger 15 liter pots and into my flowering tent for about a month. I usually flip them after a week or so from transplanting, but this time I was abroad and I didn't want to flip them and not tend to them during the first weeks of flowering, when the huge growth spurt happens, so I decided to flip them after I come back. The result ended up being with all plants growing and stretching like crazy during my time away, before even flipping. Once I flipped, I threw in a scrog net and bended as much as possible. A week later ended up putting up another scrog net. I was afraid that the plants would stretch right under the lights, but now during week 4, any growing seems to have stopped and the plants energy is being channeled into the buds. During the first 3 Weeks of flowering, I had a huge issue with humidity which stayed around 70%. Problems stemmed from being in a basement, bushy plants, bad ventilation & perspiration from AC + Heat from light fixture. I learned much more about humidity from this grow. It's much more stable now after adding another dehumidifiert, fixing the ventilation and defoliating heavily. See you next week for the next entry!

Week 7 let's go ! Day 152 - 04/11 : The plant symptoms have seemed to slow down. The soil is also starting to dry out a bit more which might have been a problem. Day 155 - 07/11 : She was flushed in the morning with about 4L of water and 2L of a 30% strength microbial+trichoderma tea to innocculate the soil in case the microlife took a hit. The run off was 1L. I also switched the 400W MH for a 400W HPS to finish off with a little extra boost of light + different spectrum and see if it makes any differences. The light were moved up by approximately 20-30cm. They are now at about 70cm from the plant. I wondered if the light were maybe too close and caused all those strange symptoms. Let's see if there is any change in their behaviour. Day 156 - 08/11 : It seems the plant is a lot happier. It has only been a day but I feel like she is fattening up faster suddenly. Or it could be that she has recovered from the slight chock from a few days ago. Day 158 - 10/11 : Yep she is definitely happy again. I am convinced it was the light or at least it was part of the problem, I am seeing a lot of growth all of a sudden, on all plants and not just this one. Trichome are up, pistilles are up, calyxes swelling, everything is running smooth again. She is looking ready already, from a bud general appearance I could almost harvest now, but the trichomes are still mostly clear and I have a feeling she has a little more in her. I suspect the reason for such large amount of already brown trichomes might have been the light excess they went through.

The harvest took 5 hours and is really good. I am drying in racks then in the curing bucket for about a month or so then in the freezer.

7 months after planting her from seed the day is finally here. A little earlier than I would of liked due to insects (crickets/grasshoppers eating buds) but she's thereabouts finished. Probably lost 1/3 of buds from the chewing insects but still a big yield and my drying room is full 😊 She survived two rainy season's and some serious wind from a tropical depression back in September. I have kept this grow completely organic so no pesticide or chemical fertilizers used. Apart from heavily amending the soil at the start I mostly fed her crabmeal once a month and seaweed and molasses in most waterings. A few of those waterings were diluted with my urine 😆👌 NPK right!? Why not.. then at the end I added a cultured pro biotic yogurt to the soil 2 days before I harvested. (Tip from a fellow grower @med_in_tropic - thanks bro) Not sure if it made any difference as I cannot compare with another plant but, the plant starting smelling like lemon furniture polish.. like a lemon scent with a fuel undertone. Almost menthol like 🤷‍♂️.. smells amazing. Me and my wife drank tea from the trimming and the citrusy flavour came though into the tea which was nice. Weather wise the temperature is down now to around 16c at night with RH around 50% so the buds should dry much slower than the last harvest so I should get a better flavour profile. Smoke report to follow after she has been in a jar for a week or so.. I did try a bud sample a few weeks back and the taste then was already pleasant so for sure this will be fire... 🔥 Thanks for all the kind comments, this was my first ever grow start to finish. Was a decent grow considering I had one arm for most of it. These came out aight good smoke and bag appeal the smell left a little on the table. The buds are solid and fat as a mf which was good. Definitely solid strain.

I didn’t take pictures before defoliation but these pics are from after the fact So you can only imagine. So many bud sites she should be stacked!!! The game plan is to move her into a 5 gallon once I get a chance this week. Glacial, 2-8-4 and some kelp meal will be used.

I've enjoyed a lot growing this plant, I had to deal at tje end of thr cycle with fungus gntas but she resisted without problems, each day the flowers stink more and more, amazing genetic, I would definitely like to keep on working with this genetic, it's a pleasure to smoke, I recomend you to grow her organically like I did snd you'll see!

Start of week 4, roots coming out of pot so have transplanted on day 22 into final pot. Plant is pushing out node five at the moment. Update week 4 day 2: A couple of days ago I dropped the PH to 5.8 from 6.3 and have added in Acti-Vera, a different Seaweed Extract fortified with Iron, and starting today Rhino Skin silica. Just look at the difference in the colouration of this plant in under 48 hours... wow. Update week 4 day 2: I think I've managed to overwater. Not going to water today. Update week 4 day 4. She is showing the same pattern as KKA 2 days ahead. After repot she is stretching out her main fan leaves, stem is thickening, and new growth appears everywhere. Day 25.5 flushed with 30l of PH lowered water then fertigated with 5l. Day 26: Height: 9cm Width: 18cm Nodes: 6 I have named her Bertha Day 27: H9.5 W19.5 N7 Day 28: Fertigated 2.5l @ 15:00 . Day 28: Photo and Measure 00:40 H13cm W21cm N7 Weekly growth data: From 6cm Height to 13cm +117% From 9cm Width to 21cm +133% From 4 primary nodes to 7 +75% Summary: Really good week for Bertha, she hasn't grown at quite the same rate as Karen, but she's not a million miles behind, I think she will have a big week 5. Day 28.5: I have changed my mind about training and done a little gentle LST. Why? Well I realised I would have trouble with light levels and the younger plants... so I've decided to try and keep the older two from stretching too tall. I realise this will mess up height measurements but it'll even out.

For weeks 9-10-11-12: It was now May 2020 and the ambient temperatures combined with no exhaust fans were raising temperatures to almost 30 degrees celcius. Way too much. So I rushed to find an oscillating fan and also a so-called inline fan with carbon filter for the smells that started to develop and for exhaust of hot air, trying to control too high temps.
