Week 1 after flowering started. And it was time for extreme defoliation ✌️

This week flushing the wedding cake i thought that was the problem was an excess of nutrients, but instead the water was quite clean, around 1100ppm at the first drain, after several flushes water is now on 600ppm.. It seems that the others are starting to have the same deficiency that hit wedding # 2 .. now I'm treating them with 0.5ml of cal-mag adding it to the other nutrients for once a week (except wedding # 2) I will wait for the soil to dry out, to give her only clean water since the final harvest is not long. ⚠️ UPDATE DAY 45 ⚠️ Yesterday flush for dos si dos and today flush for (wedding cake 1) they are having a nutrient lockout too..😪 The (wedding cake 1) is clearly healthier than her sister (wedding cake 2) by looking at her color, but unfortunately she had excessive PPM / EC too.. So i did the same procedure by using only tap water, but this time added only 0,5ml of cal-mag. Water was at 6.5 ph until I got a better runoff, it went from 5.7 to 6.0 PH and from 1800 to 700-600ppm 😬 I have never thought of overdoing nutrients so much.. I will certainly learn a lot from these mistakes 🙌🏻

Let the flushing begin! Week 8 went well, this girl packed on the last of her weight and density. She's showing more red hairs and she's got a 60/40 mix of clear/cloudy trichomes.

Cooling off at night, lots of dew, but being underneath my big Cherry Tree provides some relief. Did a big defoliation to help with airflow, removed quite a few inner branches that weren't keeping up with the canopy, but overall happy with the shape and structure, will probably just ride the rest out as it. Just water this week, spray of LCPT and a spray of BT for caterpillars. Will alternated LCPT / BT ever 3-4 days. Flowering is looking great, very aggressive TONS of pistils, trichomes developing as well, going to be 6 weeks at least, if the weather can hold out that long that is!

Week 1 and the first round of testing for this recent new cross. The F1 generation of Northern Spice. Germination was a full 100% with varying degrees of development across 3 days in the towel. Oddly however, about half of the beans cracked the shell head first with their cotelydons. Stability is always suspect with F1s anyway, but this kind of sampling, this early is concerning somewhat. We’ll see where it goes. On another topic, we also made some big changes to the grow method this cycle. We’ve moved over to a grow system by the bucket company. Fairly similar to the Dutch bucket design, just without the small reservoir in each bucket that acts as an additional insurance policy. So far, she’s purr’n like a kitten👌. Strain details She’s a mix of a particularly strong Northern Lights, mixed with a Spicy Bitch sativa hybrid. The hope is that we’ll be able to combine the overtly narcotic effects in the NL and mellow it out somewhat with the quality daytime sativa effects found in the SB. Both strains feature numerous grower qualities. Both parents possessed vigour and resiliency, the SB particularly colourful in late flower.

Day 65, 17th of November 2020: Very excited 😁 I just saw the red colour is coming along the leaves and the pistils so early I am so happy she will be a beauty ;) Streching has stopped buds are on the menu now... Some lollipopping (defoliation) has been done and also removed all the old LST's as the plant remains in shape from now. Fertilization is still the same like before happens every 2nd day with the ratio and mix above. The lamp is on 11.30 min and off 12.30 min. Last week was 15 min longer light cycle.... So every week 15 min shorter light cycle until the 5th week. So far -30 min. It switches on at 6 am and off at 17.30 pm.

4/15/25 Things are progressing nicely. Some plants dont seem to be doing too much but 3 of them or so that are really standing out. Im curious if some of these are going to be longer flowering time than anticipated with the very obvious sativa dominant plants.

Selectively defoliated 1 or 2 large fan leaves on each plant that were blocking direct light to the nodes growing . I REALLY need those secondary branches to elongate so I can begin training them down & out towards the other rim of the 5 gallon pot . Each plant is getting a little over a half of a gallon every 3 days currently I’ll set my goal to have my canopy structured & fabric pot filled out rim to rim by the time I need to amend & top dress for the flowering feeding in 2.5 wks . I feel if I can fill my pot with healthy veg before the onset of flowering I can definitely get 4 ounces per plant . Still racing against the clock here 6/4 lost control of temps tent went to 89F after AC went out. Raised light , decreased dimmer , & increased the exhaust fan to 100% after seeing leaves begin to canoe & wilt . **Noticed just the slightest nutrient burn on a few (not all) of the girls so I definitely won’t be upping the ppm yet & since there still a solid 2 weeks worth of dry amended food in this soil so just water will do fine for the next watering . The girls this last feeding from the compost tea are drinking slower it seems. Though this feeding did include almost 1 gallon more of water & the lowering of the light intensity as well as loss of control of Air Conditioning they are STILL noticeably wetter than normal . I think at this rate from the last watering on 6/2 they won’t be dry again until 6/8 at which date I’ll decrease the amount of water I’ll be giving them substantially.

This plant was an absolute dream to. Grow, no issues at all with health of plant, just struggled to tame her as she was a a thick strong climber 💪💪. I'm so impressed with how this turned out, I could have flushed for another 3 days to make it 12days but I needed the space. After The 2 days of dark I was recommended I can definitely say it has vastly boosted her trichomes and the smell when I opened the tent blew my head away 😍😋 Aiming for a 10-14 day hang dry, The 10-12 weeks curing in jars with humidity packs. I will update with a dry bud weight and smoke test 👌 Bud wet weight is just 500g+ Final bud dry weight is 298g. Of juicy resinous purple and orange buds 😍 smells like sherbert and hang dry smoke test revealed a candy sherbert, no banana yet but hoping like the grow it matures with cure process now. Hits eyes straight away, sandy bottom kids, giggles, munchies, fun time with Mrs, bed. A strain I’ve been very keen to get going! AK is a real classic and an iconic strain for me, I’ve given her a 5Gal fabric pot with BioBizz Light mix and I’ve added some beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi to support the infrastructure development. Off to a flying start, literally 72hours from seed to saying hello. Poked her head up yesterday so Day 1 is 30/03/20. Let’s see how this week goes. I plan to keep a close eye on the environmental conditions and to ensure she’s being fed some gentle nutrients, CalMag to begin with followed by some BioBizz Grow for the extra nitrogen needed at this delicate time 👌 See you all next week, I hope with more leaves to show 🌱✌️ Peace and love, stay safe

Hella dear growmies! 😁 The seedling is growing well, she is so pretty. 😍 I spray the babies with Fast Plants Spray every 2 days, dim down the LED until they are dry again.. 💦 It gives them a lot of attention and nutrients until they have grown a sufficient root system. I want to pot into 6L pots after the 1L containers have been rooted thoroughly, approx in 2 weeks.. ✌️ Then I will switch to Nutrispray and also I will feed NPK fertilizers.
