A plant with both standard cellular respiration (occurring throughout the plant, including leaves and stems) and adequate root respiration will have a significantly higher ATP throughput than one restricted to only general cellular respiration in a limited way. Cellular respiration is the fundamental metabolic process that occurs in all living plant cells (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds) to convert glucose into usable energy (ATP). It requires oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Root respiration is not a separate type of respiration, but rather a specific instance of cellular respiration occurring in the roots. Roots absorb oxygen from the air spaces in the soil to fuel their energy needs. Roots require a substantial amount of ATP for essential functions like nutrient and water absorption, as well as growth and maintenance of their tissues. The primary form of respiration in healthy plant roots is aerobic respiration, which is highly efficient, yielding up to 30-38 ATP molecules per glucose molecule. Anaerobic Respiration (Inefficient): If roots are deprived of oxygen (e.g., in waterlogged soil), they switch to anaerobic respiration, which is far less efficient, producing only 2 ATP molecules per glucose molecule and also generating alcohol, which can be toxic and kill the plant. Therefore, a plant with healthy, oxygenated roots performing efficient aerobic respiration in addition to the rest of the plant's cellular respiration has a much greater overall ATP production and energy capacity. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

Harvest was completed after a full flowering cycle, cutting the plant at peak maturity. Buds were dense, resinous, and already showing a strong terpene expression at chop. Drying was carried out slowly and in a controlled environment, prioritizing terpene preservation and overall quality over speed. Low temperatures and moderate relative humidity were used, starting with whole branches and then adapting the process based on bud size and density. Due to the density of the flowers, internal moisture migration required close monitoring during the first days. Drying conditions were adjusted when necessary to avoid overdrying the outer layers while allowing moisture to escape evenly from the core. By the end of the drying phase, buds felt dry on the outside while remaining slightly elastic inside. Resin production was very noticeable, with buds staying extremely sticky and aromas already opening up. No signs of mold or off-smells were detected, only clean and expressive genetics coming through. The buds have now entered the curing phase, where the final aroma and flavor profile will fully develop. A final update will follow after 2–3 weeks of curing.

The stretch has begun and they look good💪 The first pistils appeared on the 3 plants so the first flowers should be there pretty soon 😎 I decreased the humidity from 60 to 55% and increased the watering. Day 78 - She’s still got a little weight to her do not quite ready for some water. She’s definitely showing some deficiencies in her leaves right now but she’s coming down to the end so just gonna continue with what I’m doing until chopping. I might actually do a good flush tomorrow and give her nothing but water till the end. Day 79 - Gave her a flush today with 2 gallons of water and Foxfarm’s Sledgehammer. Now it’s just a waiting game for her to finish up. She’s showing some amber trichs so it’s looking like she’ll be getting the chop this coming weekend. Day 80 - She’s definitely started to fade quite a bit now and there is a ton of amber trichs. I’d like her to make it to the weekend but I’ll chop her sooner if need be. I think she’ll be ok and make it though. Day 81 - More and more ambers showing everyday and I’m hoping she’ll make it till the weekend to get chopped. If I gotta chop sooner, I will. Her buds are nice and fat so looking like this is going to be an awesome harvest. Day 82 - Nothing new, just waiting until the weekend to chop. Possibly Friday after work!

Familia, ya actualizamos otra semana más de floración. Tercera semana de floración de las Blueberry Cheese de Zambezaseeds que sobraron de algún envío y la verdad que respondieron fenomenal después de 2 años. Tienen un buen color están creciendo bien y desarrollando las flores correctamente. Que más puedo pedir si en verdad va sobre ruedas este proyecto. The OG Kush has wrapped up week 4 of flower. She got a healthy defoliation to expose bud sites, and is now on track to bulk up. She's been moved to the center of the tent for the rest of the grow. She's recharged and on cruise control from here on out...only removing dead leaves. Starting to smell like a funky citrus fruit. Still pretty light on the nose and trichome production has been minimal.

Edit from second day of the June. 10am in the morning. 600W @ 30C @ 55% RH Yes, sir o7 #Lady BanaN = 95cm tall #Space Girl = 80cm tall Its between 15-18C outside for few days now. Lady BanaN starts "shinning" in the light with her precious trichomes, I have feeling that all that stress will coat the main cola with sugar :) Space Girl have that Jamiroquai vibes all the time, no worries at all, pretty forgiving plant (Royal Critical / 14% THC / Indica dominant hybrid) it was a freebie. I plant it only to have variety from Fat Bananas (22%THC/Indica dominant). I'm mainly looking for Rosin extraction so Trichome production is the most important for me. Don't care about the yield, this is why I filled the tent with biggest pots. Due to lack of place I can't stress these two plants just right before harvest (dark period etc). I was thinking about stressing whole tent with music. I have played Techno Rave already and they seems to like it... so... I don't think loud and aggressive music will stress them. Maybe sound of a city? Honking cars? Talking people? will stress her more? I'm gonna experiment. I just need to think of a way to make her thinking it's time to die and she needs to protect her self. I was thinking about temps and lights also, cuz she gonna coat her self with sugar if it's gonna be too hot/cold to protect/isolate herself from temperature changes. But how do I do that without fucking up? :) Anyway, plan for now is to let them create big buds and then I want to stress-the-f*ck-out-off-them. Maybe I'm gonna lie to them and I'm gonna switch lights? Today all of them get at least 1L of (cold) water. Some of them didn't care, one or two of them didn't like it at first but then they turns back to normal. #Space Girl = Same height = around 80cm #Lady BanaN = 98cm (3cm more then week ago 👍) 5th June @ 7am Fungus Gnats sleeping on my leaves, wtf is going on? Or was it dead? Space Girl's main cola is getting bigger then Lady BanaN's main cola. 😳 And Space G is younger by 5-6 days. Temps later. I was growing mushrooms before so I know that mycelium under the ground is just in the price of a gold for these plants. It's just natural symbiosis. Somebody answered my question saying it's a damp soil not "humid nights" that cause this but... humid nights makes the soil rly damp. I hope that makes more sense. I moved hydrometer under the canopy of a plant with shroomy. 👉[600W @ 27C @ 61%]👈 with open tent (full front door / little bit of east side) and left the lights on for 24/0. Baby plants no water today. Only big girls drinking now. Oh, I forget that I re-arrange the pots. So Critical and Banan are at the same place but the baby plants around switch their places. The tall one from North-West was moved to South-West etc. In North(back) of the tent is warmer + stronger light. South have colder temps and light is not so intense. You can see Critical have curly leafs but Fat Banana that is taller have not. Temp check before night 👉[600W @ 29C @ 45%]👈 7th June. Morning routine. 👉[400W @ 26C @ 56%]👈 8th June. Late morning. 👉[600W @ 29C @ 49%]👈 I was 100% sure I'm on 400W now but I checked the knob and it was set at 600W? So... somewhere between today and few days ago I had to set it to "Super Lumens" that are above 600W. 660 I think to be precise so no big deal but I guess that's why Royal Critical got her leaves curly a little bit. Shes looking beautiful and taking well to the outside. Shes has finally reached the top of my Inner cage so I toped the main stem. No compost tea this week. I live watching her seay in the wind!

I transplanted all but the runt, because I was too busy this week to deal with everything. Still top watering for now, because I want the roots to get lower first before using the autopots.

Week 3 (14-2 to 20-2) 14-2 Watering: Gorilla Kush#1: 114 ml. Gorilla Kush#2: 117 ml. 15-2 Watering: None. No pictures. 16-2 Watering: Gorilla Kush#1: 119 ml. Gorilla Kush#2: 121 ml. 17-2 Watering: None. 18-2 Watering: None. Today i will transplant the plants, i will mix 70% Coco coir with 30% Perlite. The plants go into 18L AutoPots. I use the Airdome combined with an airstone. I covered half of the airdome with coco, and the remaining half with clay pebbles. The rest of the 18L pot filled with the coco mix, and the plants. I gave both plants a 1.5L topfeed, and into the tent they go! The light is at 70% strength, with a distance of 60 cm. 19-2 Temperature: 25.7 degrees (lights on) 20.4 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 64% (highest) 45% (lowest) Watering: None. Light strength reduced to 60% 20-2 Temperature: 25.4 degrees (lights on) 20 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 64% (highest) 50% (lowest) Watering: None.

Week 13 for Gigi! Fifth week of flower: Buds are fattening up and trichomes are becoming milky...Guys if you try to grow this genetic, keep in mind this thing: use a good filter! This plant smells a lot and amazingly good 👍 Day 86: Watered properly with all the nutrients. Rh is about 50/55% and temperature 25°C. Day 90: Watered again with half the nutrients. She drinks a lot. Guys, now it's time to talk about the disaster happened with the lamp 3 weeks ago. The lamp crashed on the main branches snapping them...but Gigi simply doesn't give a s*** about it and flowered.
