So, sad day friends. I got spider mites and had to throw all my plants out. This is what I think happened: About 2-3 weeks ago I noticed some freckling on the lower leaves. I looked at it and thought it might be a cal/mag issue so I added cal/mag that week and went about my business. I saw it about a week later and it wasn''t getting any better so I added more cal/mag. This continued for about 2-3 weeks until I finally took off a leaf and examined it under my microscope. I saw little bugs crawling everywhere and my stomach just dropped. My fiance did some quick research while I was panic ripping leaves off (see pictures) and she correctly diagnosed it as spider mites. I debated with myself and my close friend and ultimately I decided to throw all the plants in my tent away. I know that there are a lot of people who will say that there are things I could have done to make it to harvest but what it came down to is the people I take care of and personal pride. I consider myself a caregiver and I give away product for free that I am not going to use to my family and close friends. I thought to myself "Would you smoke this?" and when my answer was "ehhh, I don''t know", I thought about how it would feel giving it away and immediately made the decision to destroy them. I take an immense amount of pride in my product and this hobby and if I am not going to stand behind it I would rather just start over. I grow from my heart (shout out to the Grow From Your Heart Podcast!) to help people and make sure my family is not getting unsafe product from sketchy people. To spray pesticides in flower that may hurt people and have little bug carcasses in there just goes against that in every way and is just wrong in my opinion if you are giving it away to others. If you are the only one smoking it then it is one thing to take that risk but not with your patients. I want my medicine to help people, not create or exacerbate health issues. It is also important to note that the mites had moved from my flower tent into my veg space and took over my auto berry as well. Damn things are crafty and fast. So that is why I made the decision to destroy them all after 3 months of res changes, pruning, and manifolding on a slow vegging strain. Feel free to chime in with your opinion but I do not and will not regret my decision. I threw out my new clones, mother plant, and auto berry I had on my veg side as well. Shout out to all the other growers out there that do the right thing by their patients. Caregivers > Cash croppers. For anyone curious, I removed everything from my tent and scrubbed it all with a 20% bleach/water solution. All equipment has been wiped down and stored in the garage away from any organic materials. I will give them until tomorrow (2 days) to air out and dry and then I will wipe it down again with bleach and wait another 2 days. Hopefully that will make sure everything is dead and will not come back next grow. That next grow should start in about a week. It sucks but sometimes it happens and you gotta be ready for it. Lesson learned. Never bring outdoor plants into your indoor garden even if it is after just a day or two. A bunch of people on here and Reddit warned me and I did not listen. Now I have learned the hard way and it feels like when your parents "told you so" haha. Thanks to everyone who stopped by along the way. Stay tuned for a new grow coming soon. At the start of the week I fimmed a few high blooms to slow growth. Humidity kept climbing untill I added a carbon filter 4inch on a inline fan as an exhaust, added a 2nd fan to circulate more. Checked pH around 4 times a day due to.such a small tank. At the end of this week I defoliated and also took around 40 cuttings which I will post separate to this dairy, they will be in a DWC setup.

Noticed some fungus gnats. Added some diatomaceous earth dust to the top. Looking good. Smelling like crazy. Think I will be turning my trim and lower bud larf into hash/dry sift/bubble hash.

All in all she's doing pretty well. Growth is pretty much all in the buds and the room now smells strongly of lemons :) yum yum yum. Wanna lick my fingers after touching the plant. She is starting to show some leaf damage. I'm not certain what it is but could be light burn? That light burned the shit out of my wife's plants last winter (she upgraded to Spider Farmer)... so could be. pH is pretty stable and checked every day or two. Temp and humidity are mostly steady. Nutes are maybe a touch low? I am purposefully keeping a modest feeding concentration but pretty sure it's well within safe range. I think it basically leaves the light or some sort of root issue but those roots are just so good looking. Tapering off the nutrients now into the home stretch. No more Big Bud to be added and as of next week she's in flush. Very excited. See the picture of the nutrient schedule for anyone interested... and feedback if you have any 😎 I added another mature plant to the room. A friend's attempt at soil growing did not work out (did not use proper grow light) so I'm trying to help her produce at least a few decent buds 😕. No harm, there's space in the place and plenty of light to go around. Anyone reading - do you have experience water washing? That's my plan for this lady.

Day15 - Day17: I had some difficulties to get the humidity right. It was either too high or fluctuating too much. I ended up getting a timer for the plug and running the humidifier 15mins every hour. To help with air flow, I have the main duct fan running 4 times a day for an hour. To ensure that there's airflow around the plant, I have a fan in the light as well as a smaller clip-on fan that runs during light hours. I'm not sure how the camera moved on day17... I only watered it mid-day. Day18: The timer on the humidifier and Duct Fan is now keeping the humidity in a good space. VPD now under control Day19: The Vivosun controller perfectly adapted the lighting schedule to an hour earlier, to ensure 6hrs of darkness. UInfortunately the RPi kept it's 04:00 schedule (makes sense). So I captured an hour of darkness. Adapted everything. Will have 18hrs again from Day20 onwards. Day20: In the next days I'll lift the camera higher for a better view of what's happening up top. My mesh-netting-dingsbums will arrive and I'll use this as a platform for the pi+camera. Day21: I'm not sure if I like this angle. I'll only keep it like this until she goes into veg-mode. It at least shows the new nodes growing from different perspective

Placed into Root Riot starter cubes. 22 April - 3d seed cracked. Placed into wet paper towel. 24 April - 1st seed sprouted from starter cube. Main root exposed, moved to permanent DWC system (see pictures). Filled for first time with solution. 25-26 April - Let seedling grow. Thank you Seedsman Seeds!
