Another good week of steady grow. Still little worried by the yellowing this early in flowering. But I'll guess I have to see it through. The smell is getting little stronger. Early scents are pine, and musky smells.

July 27: still growing fast. The new growth is a bit yellow and I haven’t decided what that’s due to. Lack of sulphate or excess Phosphorus are the two options I think. Anyway, she’s doing fine and is startling to preflower. 👍 Started using a 730 nm far red light for a few seconds at dusk. This is called phyto-forcing apparently because it promotes flowering. I really love science when it figures out random shit like how photosynthesis and light wavelength (or colour) interact. Outdoor plants naturally see a flash of far red light just before darkness and this light kind of ‘puts it to sleep’ or into dark mode two hours faster. So, two extra hours darkness or a 26 hour day. Sounds bogus but is totally legit. July 28: foliar spray of Extreme Blend and potassium silicate. July 30: plant is looking great. The yellow on the new growth has faded and is now a better looking shade of green. I think it might have been excess P because the other plants kind of had it too and the timing was a couple days after adding barley and Power Bloom. This is right at the start of flowering when plants need lot of P, and the yellow is fading, so I’ll just let it go without doing anything about it. She’ll get over it.

Week 13 - Flowering Week 4 The cycle look well advanced. All plants are producing quantities of pistils like the Royal Gorilla or Bubble Gum. Some aphids are still around but infestation seems under control. I sprayed Neem oil to repulse insects and defoliated. I added more nutrients in the soil (Palm Tree Ashes) and in Water: pk 13/14, flowering stimulator. Watering each 2 or 3 days 80cl/plant -Cal/Mag + Pk 13/14 + flowering nutrients -Cal/Mag + Bud XL + flowering nutrients -Cal/Mag + Over Drive + flowering nutrients Plants report: -CaliFunk the most advanced: flowers are frosty, resinous and getting thicker. But this plant is very short and only the 4 main buds are correct. -Royal Gorilla stopped to produce long pistil and started the final stage. -Ak 47 is flowering slowly, buds are long but not thick for the moment: elegant Sativa -Bubble Gum look great, dynamic and homogeneous flowering: well engaged -Green Punch after damaged is producing some flower + one bud…. -Sour Diesel is a pretty good surprise: interesting flowering: slow but progressive (Sativa dominant). The smell in the grow-tent is a strange and strong Mix between this 6 different strains.

May 15: later start as a replacement for my failure on Durban Poison. Have wanted to fit this one in for a while and should be an easy and reliable grow. Top tip for germination stage is get a heating mat. My house is usually about 18 C but cannabis, tomatoes and pepper all need it warmer to start properly. So, get a heating mat. i usually keep it at about 26 C. Next germination tip is to expose the newly sprouted seed to ethylene gas just before it first reaches light. This is a huge tip for all growers. Seed ‘priming’ using ethylene gas in dark before seedling is exposed to light. https://scitechdaily.com/accidental-discovery-how-a-whiff-of-an-unusual-chemical-transforms-seedlings-into-super-plants/ Seed priming works. I tried it last year on peppers, tomatoes and cannabis. 😎 This is as big a tip as my standard “get a pH meter”.
