So pleased with the growth, this week I put a net up to separate out the buds a bit and trimmed the plants to try and get more light to the lower buds. Instead of replacing the water, I'm now directly recycling and adding nutrients and additives. Get back on track since I was busy. Now I flip them to 12/12 this weekend 18/06/23 I got report from my friend who grew the Dante and OSDxPablo from the same package of mine that half of them turn to Hermies I am thinking to cut some of the out soon as the show the sex if some of them in my grow tent be hermie

Both clones are Hermi they have had low stress at most havent a clue to why they turned hermi there momma was female 100 percent .ive managed to find all bulbs over 20 throught the plants and plucked them out last week but today i found 2 open male flowers pinched them off tightly hoping not to spread or let any pollin get airborn .Crossing my fingers i havent missed any male parts . Other than that these plants got over 5' tall durring the stretch .only expected them to reach 4' must be because they turned hermi there going to produce alot of long fat buds if i can keep the male flowers from opening its alot to monitor so probably impossible to do so but ive got to try' The june heat of summer is brutal cant keep my day temp under82 and when it does my rh goes up to 59 only have a swamp cooler and it doesnt get under 79 in the room outside the tent so my lights run at night and go dark during the hottest time of day wich is 80 at best for july and auga😡st are my worst months without A/C its 105 outsid now and will climb to 120+ in aug. ill be lucky if theres any trycombs left by mid july when its ready to harvest .

Not so much to say this week : everything looks OK. OAH #7 is still struggling to live and will be replaced by feminized Runtz from Pevgrow soon (mother plant for a futur run). I put back the FC-E3000 driver in tent in order to warm up inside day air to 28-30°C range and let plants manage high RH and CO2 (still between 700-900 ppm, so no CO2 supplement for now) : no problem for Amnesia as it enjoy this kind of temp. 2023/06/13 : another (and last) round of Boom Boom Spray, 5 days after first one, during vegetation grow. 2023/06/16 : as planed, I removed dying plants (#1 and #7) and added one Runtz feminized from PEVseeds for next run with clones. From 10 seeds, 1 never popped and 3 died as root could'nt get out of the Jiffy, so it will be a poor 60% rate!😪 And I almost forgot, pistils are out!

When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. -6/11/23 Start of Week --Week 12/Flower 6 -6/17/23 (Day 91/Flower 43) --Observations: starting to get the classic cannabis scent, there is a lot going on under what is seeable from the top, leaf tips nutrient burnt --Changes: increased amount of water per day, stopped giving nutrients during the week, removed more of the lemon basil, upped the intensity of the light (62%) --Comments: started giving more water at the beginning of this week (about 22 oz daily) but had to stop adding nutrients every time because leaf tips started getting burnt. removed more of the lemon basil because it had started growing over the purple lemonade, the basil is growing like crazy. finally got a closer look at the inner growth of the purple lemonade and there is far more going on than I originally thought, looking like this might be the best grow I have done so far. purple lemonade scent is starting to intensify and gain the classic cannabis smell but still has the lemon citrus scent. decided to increase light intensity instead of lowering height from plant, light is now at about 62%. -6/17/23 End of Week -Post-Week note: decided to put the actual height of the top of the colas instead of the distance from the base to the top of the main stem, past weeks have also been updated.
