Und was soll man sagen: Die Buds haben den „Ach, wir probieren mal was“-Status endgültig verlassen und sind jetzt offiziell in Serie gegangen. Die Blütenansätze sitzen dicht an dicht entlang der Triebe, kleine kompakte Türmchen mit ordentlich weißen Stempeln, die in alle Richtungen zeigen wie schlecht frisierte Antennen. Man merkt: Hier wird gerade entschieden, wie groß man später mal werden will. Die Buds sind noch nicht fett, aber klar strukturiert, sauber aufgebaut und deutlich mehr als nur Vorstufe. Klassische Woche-3-Situation: „Ich verspreche viel, halte dich aber noch hin.“ Harz? Noch zurückhaltend, aber schon sichtbar – ein leichter Frostschleier. Der Geruch beginnt ebenfalls, sich bemerkbar zu machen: noch nicht penetrant, eher so ein leises Räuspern aus der Grow-Ecke, das ankündigt, dass hier bald ernsthafte Aromen auf den Tisch kommen. Wenn Blütewoche 1 das Casting war und Woche 2 die Probe, dann ist Woche 3 ganz klar der Moment, in dem die Buds sagen: „Okay, jetzt schauen wir mal, ob ihr bereit seid für uns.“

Un breve resumen de esta planta sería "La Green Gelato de RQS ha sido todo un descubrimiento". Empezamos el cultivo a mediados/finales de mayo. Se plantó directamente en la maceta final de 17l. Desde ese momento hasta la fecha de corte solo se regó con agua, durante toda la vida de la planta no se aplicó ningún tipo de fertilizante ni en crecimiento ni en floración. No tuvo ningún apoyo por parte de focos, se utilizó únicamente la luz del sol. Cuando llovía se ponían bajo techo para evitar la aparición de hongos o moho. No hay mucho mas que destacar ya que para el cuidado que se le dio, las fotos hablan por si solas. No hay duda de la calidad de este banco y de sus genéticas. Nota; Al final de la floración hubo aparición de hongos, se retiraron y no hubo mas problemas.

Last Week i did in my Opinion the last Defoliation and clean up the Bottom. But after a Week there are no light Penetration under the Canopy. So i decided to take a few more Leaves Deep Red runs all the 12 hours. Infrared 15 mins before light goes on and off. And UV Light every Hour for 10 Mins

It's always a good thing when there is nothing really to report. It's been smooth sailing this week! They are growing so fast and healthy!!! The light is still only at 660w of the 880w available. I can't wait to see some flowers start forming!! Should be this week. My previous tent record is 782g I believe and I would like to shatter that this harvest with this new light!!

Plants look great and fresh, auto one looks pretty good, lots of smelly buds, very good for an auto. Other two from RQS starts flowering pretty nice.

The Hobbit Hole – Woche 12 Eine weitere Woche im Hobbit Hole ist vorbei – und langsam beginnt sich die kleine Outdoor-Runde aufzulösen. 😅 Diese Woche hat sich einiges getan. Nicht unbedingt, weil die Pflanzen noch riesige Entwicklungssprünge machen, sondern weil wir inzwischen eindeutig in der Schlussphase angekommen sind. 🍨 Gelato Auto – die Erste verlässt das Hobbit Hole Für die Gelato war diese Woche Schluss. Das zunehmend unbeständige Wetter hat die Entscheidung letztendlich etwas beschleunigt. Viel zusätzliche Entwicklung war nicht mehr zu erwarten und irgendwann wird draußen das Verhältnis zwischen „noch ein bisschen mehr Reife“ und dem Risiko durch Feuchtigkeit einfach schlechter. Also fiel die Entscheidung: Gelato wird als Erste geerntet. ✂️🍨 Damit bleiben von ursprünglich drei Damen noch zwei im Hobbit Hole zurück. ☔ Ein Dach fürs Hobbit Hole Nach dem letzten Wochenupdate gab es außerdem noch ein kleines Upgrade. Am Samstag habe ich über dem Standort ein Tarp gespannt, damit die drei bei Regen nicht mehr völlig ungeschützt stehen. Gerade jetzt auf den letzten Metern möchte ich die Buds möglichst trocken halten und ihnen trotzdem noch jeden brauchbaren Sonnentag mitgeben. Aus dem Hobbit Hole ist damit endgültig eine kleine überdachte Outdoor-Höhle geworden. 😂 👠 Cinderella Auto Cindy ist inzwischen kaum noch zu übersehen, wenn man nach Zeichen der Endblüte sucht. Das Laub wird zunehmend gelb und die Pflanze zieht sichtbar ihre letzten Reserven aus den älteren Blättern. Gleichzeitig sehen die Buds weiterhin gesund und ordentlich bereift aus. Besonders der Headbud hat sich schön entwickelt. Unter dem Mikroskop wird es mittlerweile ebenfalls interessant: Viele Trichome sind milchig, daneben finden sich noch klare Köpfe und bereits die ersten eindeutig bernsteinfarbenen Exemplare. Sie ist damit klar in der Schlussphase angekommen. 🔬 Noch sehe ich keinen zwingenden Grund, sie sofort umzuhauen. Solange das Wetter mitspielt und das Tarp seinen Job macht, bekommt Cindy noch etwas Zeit. 💜 Purple Punch Auto Und Purple… nun ja. Den Namen muss man inzwischen wirklich niemandem mehr erklären. 😂💜 Sie hat sich wunderschön verfärbt. Dunkles Violett, rötliche Töne, teilweise fast schwarze Blätter und dazu die helle Trichombedeckung – optisch ist sie momentan ganz klar der Star im Hobbit Hole. Auch bei ihr ist der Fade inzwischen deutlich sichtbar und die Pflanze steckt offensichtlich nicht mehr viel Energie in Blattmasse. Beim Mikroskopcheck wirkt Purple momentan etwas weiter als Cindy. Viele der sichtbaren Trichomköpfe sind bereits milchig, einzelne bernsteinfarbene sind vorhanden, während sich dazwischen weiterhin klare Köpfe finden. Ganz exakt möchte ich hier bewusst keine Prozentzahlen nennen – gerade auf den Zuckerblättern erscheinen Trichome häufig früher bernsteinfarben als direkt auf den Kelchen. 🔬 Jetzt entscheidet das Mikroskop – und das Wetter Damit sind Cindy und Purple beide auf den letzten Metern. Ich werde jetzt nicht versuchen, auf Teufel komm raus noch möglichst viele Tage herauszuquetschen. Wenn das Wetter halbwegs mitspielt, dürfen sie weiterreifen. Wird es allerdings wieder dauerhaft nass und ungemütlich, ist mir eine gesunde Ernte wichtiger als das letzte bisschen zusätzliche Reife. Das neue Tarp verschafft mir dabei zumindest etwas mehr Spielraum. Nach Woche 12 steht damit fest: Gelato ist durch. 🍨✂️ Cindy steht kurz davor. 👠🔬 Purple wird immer dunkler und reifer. 💜 Und das Hobbit Hole hat jetzt sogar ein Dach. 😂 Mal schauen, wie viele Bewohner beim nächsten Update überhaupt noch übrig sind. Die Ernteberichte stelle ich fertig wenn alle Pflanzen durch sind🏻

I wasn't paying attention to the plant and she got a little dried out. I noticed that the lower leaves were stating to curls and She was just looking very unhealthy. I flushed the pot and defoliated all the growth below the top two nodes on each branch. gave her a couple days to recover from the defoliation and then added a feeding of nutrient solution. She has recovered nicely. However, there are some leaves that are still showing signs of damage but also improvement. That is the reason that this week is lacking in photos. I had to play doctor to the plant.

😍😍 flipped the switch to 12/12 two days ago!! The scrog has been set beautifully again. I am going to leave the plants a little bushier this time until later. not a jungle tho lol still manicured nicely. got most of the leaves below the net cleaned up, will do a final clean up in about a week. cant wait to see all the different strains. I think i manicured TOO much last run and the plants could be stronger with a few more fan leaves than last time. Ill clean it up more later on. anywho, all looks good and thanks for following along! 😊

Animal Mints — Legends of the Frozen North Part 2 — Drying, Trimming & Preserving the Harvest Before we begin, once again, we want to apologize for dividing this harvest into multiple reports. We know it can feel like a long journey to follow week after week, but honestly, this is the only way we can properly document everything in the level of detail that these plants deserve. Harvesting, drying, trimming, curing, resin collection, storage methods, smoke reviews… all of these stages are part of the final medicine. And instead of rushing through it in one giant post, we prefer to slow down and share every step in the most educational and transparent way possible. So welcome back to the frozen north. This is Part 2. ⸻ Ten days later, the room had completely changed. The giant living plants we harvested in the previous report had now transformed into hanging medicine. Slowly drying in darkness, at around 18–20°C and roughly 60% humidity, allowing the moisture to leave the flowers gradually instead of forcing them dry too quickly. For the first couple of days, humidity was brought slightly lower to help remove excess external moisture, but after that, conditions stabilized again for the slow dry we love so much. And then came that moment every grower knows. That little click. That beautiful snap in the branches that tells you the plant is finally ready. Not too wet. Not too dry. Just right. And honestly… after seeing these girls hanging there for days, fully intact, massive branches swinging slowly in the dark, it was finally time to begin the next ritual. Trimming day. ⸻ Gloves on. Scissors ready. Trim bin prepared. Medicine beside us. Mr. Baggy supervising operations as always. One branch at a time, we carefully broke the plants down by hand, slowly removing each flower from the stems before shaping every nug individually. No rush. No machine trimming. No shortcuts. Just patience, resin, and respect for the plant. And these Animal Mints girls absolutely covered everything in trichomes. The moment trimming started, the gloves became sticky almost immediately. Thick resin building layer after layer until eventually it rolled naturally into small dark hash balls directly from the fingers and gloves themselves. This is one of those little moments we genuinely love about harvest season. That sticky resin coating the gloves is essentially concentrated trichome resin — cannabinoids, terpenes, waxes, oils, and all the aromatic compounds that make the plant what it is. With a little warmth from the hands and gentle pressure, it naturally rolls together into traditional finger hash. Simple. Ancient. Beautiful. And of course… we also continued our little Moroccan-style “drums” with the trim. By gently agitating the dried trim across the screens, we collected an absolutely beautiful amount of dry sift. Bright golden-yellow resin, soft and sandy, full of aroma and life. No exact scale numbers this time — this was more about enjoying the process than chasing statistics — but the quality spoke for itself immediately. Honestly, this type of hash is one of our favorite ways to enjoy the plant. A little inside a joint, slowly melting together with the flower, enhancing both flavor and depth without overpowering the experience. Pure magic. ⸻ Now let’s talk numbers. And honestly… these girls performed beautifully. Plant A gave us: 127g Plant B gave us: 247.8g Plant C gave us: 287.9g For dense, compact, heavily resinous flowers grown 12/12 from seed, this is an outstanding result in our eyes. Especially considering the morphology of these plants. This style of growing continues to impress us more and more every single run. The plants remain relatively compact vertically, but the flower production becomes incredibly efficient. Tight node spacing. Massive bud stacking. Heavy trichome production. Strong support structure. Dense flowers without absurd plant height. The frozen north delivered once again. And standing there in the studio holding entire branches in both hands… honestly, it was impossible not to smile. Happy grower moment. ⸻ Once trimming was complete, the next mission began: Preserving the terpenes. Because harvest means nothing if the cure is bad. So this time we decided to test multiple storage methods side by side. Some flowers went into traditional glass jars — still one of our absolute favorite methods for long-term curing. Stable, simple, reliable, and something we continue to trust deeply. Some flowers went into vacuum-style Zamnesia metal containers, where air can be partially removed while maintaining stable conditions inside. Others went into vacuum plastic containers with pressure-sealed lids. And finally, part of the harvest also went into Grove Bags, since the yield was simply too large not to use multiple preservation systems. Inside several containers we also added 62% humidity control packs. These packs are not “magic terpene creators” or anything like that — they simply help stabilize relative humidity inside the container, preventing flowers from becoming either too dry or too moist during curing. The flowers themselves were already dried correctly before storage. That part is important. Humidity packs are not there to fix bad drying. They are there to help maintain stability afterward. And honestly, one of the most exciting things now will be revisiting these exact same flowers months later to compare how each storage method affected aroma, texture, smoothness, and terpene expression over time. Because curing is alive. Medicine changes. Terpenes evolve. And that journey is part of the magic too. ⸻ One thing we also want to mention is how much easier trimming became with the curved point Zamnesia scissors. It might sound like a tiny detail, but those curved tips genuinely help reach deep into dense flowers without damaging structure, allowing cleaner trimming while preserving the natural shape of the buds. Small tools. Big difference. ⸻ By the end of this session, trays were full, jars were packed, hash was collected, gloves were destroyed by resin, and the studio smelled absolutely unreal. pine, diesel and earthy. Animal Mints is looking amazing. And honestly… looking at those giant trimmed branches in the studio lights, it was one of those moments where you simply stop for a second and appreciate the entire journey from seed to harvest. Because this is more than growing plants. This is preservation of flavor. Preservation of resin. Preservation of time, patience, and intention. ⸻ But we are still not done. Not even close. Flipped these girls to flower on day 26. Most of them have been looking good and growing pretty fast. I topped off the reservoir and added a little maxibloom. All 8 plants are drinking a total of about 2 gallons of water per day now. I kinda slacked on training them this week, but I will try to get them spread out some over the next week. I have been pulling a few fan leaves from the bottom so they can get good air circulation.
