Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Hey now, this week went pretty good! The Acid Dough from Ripper Seeds is almost done stretching, she didn't get as tall as I hoped but that was mostly my fault for training her too long. I have noticed no matter how long I train the stems outward, they always grow back up towards the middle in the end, so I am starting to think I am wasting height of colas by training a few days or a week too long. Anyways, other than that I did some light defoliation and that is about all. Super excited to see what my first run of Ripper Seeds will produce! Alright guys, welcome back — week 7 of veg with the Pineapple Upside Down Cake from Humboldt. This week feels like a big win compared to the last one. The adjustments I made finally paid off. Cutting off the extractor really helped bring humidity back up, and that gave the plant the push it needed to get back into an optimal growth rhythm. I also realized that adding an extra light before was too much — way too much PPFD. So now I’ve gone back to a more balanced setup with a 54W COB at 5000K. The environment feels much more stable, uniform, and the plant clearly loves it. Nutrients are still straight Athena — Grow A, Grow B, CalMag, and Cleanse. EC is holding around 1.4. One thing I’ve noticed is a slight drift between what’s in the reservoir and what ends up in the saucer. That’s why I keep the res around pH 5.5–5.6. Once it drains through to the pot, it tends to rise, landing closer to 5.8 or even 6.0. It’s a bit tricky to manage, but the idea is to aim lower in the res so that the root zone ends up right where it should be. So, the main challenge for the upcoming week is to keep that pH steady in the sweet spot — ideally buffered around 5.8 to 6.0. If I can lock that in, the plant should keep pushing strong. For now, everything looks good. I’m happy with the comeback this week — definitely a victory. Let’s see how it evolves next week. Catch you then!

2nd week of flowering Yes. It does bloom well, I did quite a bit of defoliation throughout the week even completely cutting off the lower branches. All 4 are growing wide and full of colas. I'm happy with what I'm seeing and will not pull more leaves off for the coming week. I have ordered a bottleof Power buds from Plagron and will add it to the nutrients as soon as it arrives (should be tomorrow) bless.

Day 110 since seed touched soil. Girl is on final stretch, took all nutes out last watering. Today gave 6.3 phed water for last time, maybe if few other girls will show signs of bulking, ill do one more watering. Last week installed dehumidifier, so all environment is way better. She is the most behind, loads of bulking upfront, maybe i push all a bit longer because of her ... Happy Growing !!!

Well I’m closing this one out. I had a lot of problems with humidity outside and bud rot, in hindsight i read a few reviews in the last few weeks and purple kush is susceptible to bud rot. I did 2 separate harvest, one on the 9th and one on the 14th. I collected everything I could smoke, there is still buds left on the plants but because of bud rot and immature buds I’m saying fuck it. Sonoma seeds quotes 9-10 weeks flower i harvested at week 8 and week 9. I harvested just shy of a pound total, and just over and oz of “purple” looking weed. Between you guys and i, the purple one was pretty shwaggy as far as bud goes. Would i grow this again outdoors? NOPE. Would i try it indoors? You will have to stay tuned for my next grow. If you plan to grow this strain outdoors do not do it. The fact that it’s pretty much 100%indica it does not like to get wet,🤦‍♂️🏻 if you are in the desert, indoors or live in Afghanistan (lineage) go for it. The taste is also not quite what I expected, all the reviews say grapes, but i taste a neutral taste. Some of it smells quite good in the jars but as soon as you smell each bud it smells like spicy woody herb with some dank undertone. Trimming it i had some sort of dank spicy smell i just can’t put my fingers on, except it was all over them. The buzz is “ok”but nothing to knock your socks off with. It is a stimulating feeling followed by a calm “not sleepy” feeling. I haven’t grown many outdoor variety’s but I’m sure most of them turn out the same. I’m waiting for my indoor no name to finish and I can start trying to redeem myself with my leftover seeds, and hopefully get the true quality/if there is, with this purple kush strain. Had great results, especially when i upgraded to RO water.. if theres one thing i could of changed it would of been using the reverse Osmosis water sooner. The rest of the grow was pretty easy, didn't even plant train as this was suppose to be a hassle free run. It was just that. Some good genetics from seedstockers too. Good stuff!

(wednesday, start week 8) plants both start flowering, the water in the Dwc has only 400 ppm. this plant drinks a lot instead of feeding later on this week: changed water to 650ppm (friday) soil plant looks like its over or underwatered. i used 1/3 perlite and water once a week 1 liter. the pot weighs normal.. maybe i should keep watering everyday half a liter ? the video and pictures of these problems are added to this week, my PH meter was broke causing me to give the wrong Ph for a while.. i now use the liquid ph test kit from GHE, she starts to look better now. ill be happy to finish this i dont like all the leaves on this strain

Everything going well some have shot ahead think was due to over watering others but other than that all look to be coming on fine more care and attention from now on 👍🏻✌️🏻

What's up growmies🤟🏽 Week 2 in the books 👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I transplanted my babies on Monday 12/12/22 and fed them their first round of nutrients on Wednesday 12/14/22. Being that they all are autos except Caramelicious I wanted to get them transplanted as soon asap. It took about 2 days for them to get adjusted. The transition to the new homes went well, only one (Caramelicious) shows any impact. The tips of the first real leaves are yellowing. I believe it was due to her needing nutes moreso the transplant. I'm excited about this one because I am growing some new (to me) strains. Not much to report really. Business as usual at this point😁 Until next week my friends!!!! 7/19: Started new nutrients today. Filled gallon jug with new nutes. Poured half of new nute mix in half gallon jug. Poured the entire half gallon jug into reservoir. 7/20: Bumped light intensity to 50% 7/21: Filled reservoir to the 2nd line today. Added a total of 1 gallon to res to get it to that line. Poured the rest of the mixed nutes for this week (half gallon) and then another half gallon of just plain water. 7/24: Bumped light intensity to 55% 7/25: Sadness today 😞.. While in the process of doing more LST today I accidentally snapped the main stem. I Panicked! Moved plant back in opposite direction to counteract the split. Will be monitoring very closely! 🙏🏾 ***** For this Grow****** “Day Air Temperature” will be the max temp of tent for the week. “Substrate Temperature” will be the average temp of tent for the week. “Night Air Temperature” will be the lowest temp of the tent for the week.

Shes stoped growing in height for the most part but the buds are just getting started and already filling the space of the nodes. Already covered in trichomes and the smell is very sweet and citrus. Going to be some perfect mid summer smoke! I cant wait.

Will be flushing this week and hopefully harvesting next week. Looking good, strong trichomes production and smell is incredible for both.

Day 67 12/4/20 welcome to the last week i cant wait to chop this girl down. I have a new tent on the way that's a 4X4 and I will put the new auto pot system in it. all in all this was a great grow and I'm very happy with the cola size and color until next week happy growing and as always keep your stick on the ice
