🌸 Lava Cake – Week 5 Flower Report 🌸 We’ve reached Week 5 of flower — such an important and defining stage in the Lava Cake journey. Both phenos are shining, evolving beautifully, and filling the room with life and energy. It’s a week full of growth, observations, and some lessons to share. ⸻ 🌿 Current Status • Both plants are looking healthy, vigorous, and branching strong. • White hairs (pistils) continue to thicken and spread — the first signs of real bud-building. • Leaves show some spots, likely a touch of CalMag deficiency. This is not uncommon at this stage, as the plants’ demands for calcium and magnesium rise sharply during heavy metabolic activity. To support them, I’ve kept the full nutrient recipe steady this week and reintroduced Aptus All-in-One Liquid to strengthen the nutritional foundation and bounce them back quickly. ⸻ 💧 Nutrient Recipe (Week 5) • Aptus Regulator – cell wall support & stress resistance • Aptus CalMag Boost – to address spotted leaves and support photosynthesis • Aptus All-in-One Liquid – reintroduced this week to balance the base nutrition and help recovery from early deficiency signs • Plagron Power Buds, Sugar Royal & Green Sensation – pushing bud development, resin, and flavor complexity ⚠️ Note on feeding adjustments: This week we removed Top Booster from the mix. While it’s a great stimulator during certain flower stages, running it alongside Power Buds, Sugar Royal, and Green Sensation risks overlapping too much PK. Too much of a good thing can cause stress, salt build-up, or nutrient lockouts. By keeping the recipe focused and balanced, the Lava Cakes can thrive without overload. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment • Temperatures: Lower this week (relief!) thanks to cooling efforts. • Humidity: Still running a little high, sometimes hovering beyond the ideal. • Airflow: Two 6-inch exhausts + intake, all carbon filtered. This, along with fans inside, should keep the air moving and avoid stagnant moisture pockets. ⚠️ Note: Higher humidity at this stage can invite mold or mildew risks, but with strong airflow and constant air renewal, we’re reducing the chances. Not to Expect: • Full bulk yet — this comes in the later weeks, especially 6–8. • Perfect leaves everywhere — in flower, the plant focuses on buds, not flawless foliage. ⸻ 🌎 Closing Thoughts Week 5 is about listening and responding. The Lava Cakes showed us some leaf spots, and in return, we adjusted by reintroducing All-in-One Liquid while simplifying the booster recipe. Removing Top Booster avoids nutrient overlap and keeps the focus on a clean, balanced mix. This isn’t just about correcting deficiencies — it’s about preparing them for the heavier bloom demands to come. With lower temperatures, steady airflow, and a carefully tuned recipe, the girls are thriving. Every day brings more white hairs, more structure, and more anticipation for what’s ahead. ⸻ 🔬 Science Spotlight: Nutrient Antagonism One of the biggest hidden challenges in mid-flower is nutrient antagonism — when too much of one element blocks the uptake of another. • Excess phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) (often from bloom boosters) can interfere with calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) absorption. This can show up as leaf spotting, rust marks, or weakened stems even if those nutrients are technically present in the soil. • By removing Top Booster this week, we reduced the PK load and allowed CalMag supplementation to actually reach the plant without being locked out. • Balance always beats excess. The goal is steady, accessible nutrition, not maxing out one element. This principle is key to avoiding deficiencies during bloom: feed enough, but not too much of any one thing. ⸻ 🔬 Trichome Spotlight If you look closely at the close-ups this week, you’ll notice the first tiny crystals beginning to coat the flowers and nearby leaves. Finalmente i fiori stanno gonfiando come stavo aspettando! Grande settimana quella appena trascorsa, le foglie sono sempre più gialle, ne ho già tolte alcune, e i fiori stanno venendo belli grossi e pelosi. Controllando con il microscopio i tricomi noto che sono quasi tutti bianchi, diverranno ambrati a breve, non vedo l'ora. Ho svuotato completamente i vasi e ho rimesso acqua liscia con il solo overdrive, domenica prossima svuoto di nuovo, aggiungo il flawless finish e via. Manca poco 🍀🤣😎🎉🎊🍾🍀

10.05.21 Anfang der 7. Woche alles läuft ganz gut hab heute wieder gegossen für jede Lady 4,5 l wasser mit Zusätzen bis auf lady #2 die hat nur green sensation bekommen da sie den anderen voraus rennt mal schauen was diese Woche so bringt...... 11.05.21.................................................. 12.05.21 hab es gestern leider nicht geschafft den Bericht zu aktualisieren hab aber auch gestern nix an den Pflänzchen gemacht hab heute mal ein paar buds fotografiert und das erste mal geprüft wie fest die buds sind also gelato 41#2 ist wie ein Felsen die anderen 3 Ladys sind eher fleischig aber dennoch fest (fast wie ein Hüft steak Medium rare) sieht auf jeden fall viel Versprechend aus und der Duft an den fingern nach dem prüfen, ein hauch von zitrone trifft auf leichte Minze mit cremiger Dunst note schon ziemlich geil muss ich sagen freue mich schon drauf wie ein kleiner junge auf sein Eis...... 13.05.21.................................................. 14.05.21 hab mich dazu entschieden nur noch alle 2 Tage was zu posten ab jetzt passiert nicht mehr viel sie wird nach und nach fetter und die trichome sind zum größten Teil milchig werde Sonntag die Spülung beginnen das währe dann Tag 57 nach flip und somit tag 49 der blüte, demnach sollte ich an Tag 63 fertig sein plus 1 bis 2 Tage dann hat sie 9 Wochen blüte hinter sich und 10 Wochen 12/12 der breeder selbst gibt an 7 bis 9 Wochen flower sollte also hin hauen die Angabe bin gespannt wie sie am Ende aus sieht. Werde Sonntag mal versuchen die trichome zu fotografieren aber mein kleines Taschen mikroskop zu fotografieren während ich es an die Blüten halte is etwas kompliziert für mich hab einen ruhe tremor fehler sprich ich zitter sobald ich etwas mache was mit fein Arbeit zu tuen hat, nicht stark,aber ein Bild machen is da schon schwer, werde es Sonntag versuchen an meine Kamera vom Handy zu kleben mit Maler crepp und dann mal schauen ob es einiger maßen klappt..... 15.05.21................................................. 16.05.21 so liebe growmies und canna begeisterte heute war der Tag der Spülung hab jeder Pflanze 22,5 Liter Wasser verpasst so das eigendlich fast alles an Dünger und Zusätzen raus sein sollte die Suppe die am Ende unten raus kam war fast komplett klar wie wasser sein sollte. bitte schimpft jetzt nicht mit mir das ich so hart flushe, ich hab mir gefühlt 1000 blogs durch gelesen von Zamnesia bis royal queen über Humboldt usw. Zum Thema flush und da gibt es ja echt viele Möglichkeiten wie man das ganze angeht der eine giesst normal weiter halt nur mit Wasser der nächste spült mit doppelter Menge von gewohntem giessen und wiederum andere stellen die Pflanzen in die Dusche und spülen da eine ganze Badewannen durch die Erde. War mir da einfach nicht mehr sicher wie ich das am besten an gehe und bin halt am ende auf die idee gekommen wenn das wasser gut klar ist Dann Sollte doch gut gespült sein hoffe ich zumindest in ca 14 tagen hack ich die Ladys Dann ab ihr könnt euch gar nicht vorstellen wie ich mich auf den Tag freue wenn ich schneiden darf ist wie Geburtstag und Weihnachten auf einem Tag........

It's been a good week for the girls they're stretching into flower real nice. Plant height is 14 to 20 inches. I just got the dripper setup going at the end of the week and will be fussing with it till I'm happy. I will be watching the ph and ppm's in the res to make sure they're on point and topping off when needed. Thanks for looking😊

Day 50. Gorillas goes by plan, Cookies is still a pain every time i see them ... Control garden will go to green house on day 54, rest of girls will get 24 hours of darkness and will be forced to flower .. Nothing good to be said, but i will try to feed them, hope nitrogen toxicity wont kick in ... Both strains are overfed very easy, cookies are overfed without food even ... ;))) Lets see .. Happy growing ! p.s. my old phones mic is broken, so put volume down while watching video ;))) Day 52. Girls were very hungry, so heavy feed and rain for them. Lights where dimed to 50% while leaves had water on them. Some Cookies started to stretch, inner node distance is huge, maybe i will have second time only in my life hermie.... Anyway, hope to switch them by day 55. This grow i cant get girls to pray, its always somthing, growing is really hard sometimes .. Good luck everyone ! Happy Easter ! Day 53. I think Zkittlez Auto has two weeks left, including this one. She definitely looks like the ten week pheno and I think she’ll bulk nicely in these last weeks. I loved growing this auto and am so impressed I was able to get these results considering I’m not an auto grower. I’ve already begun flushing and I think she’ll be a nice smooth smoke when she’s done. I’m amazed at how resinous she is. Looking forward to harvesting and then exploring more auto strains.

Drank 1 gallon plain water=66 ppm 6.5 ph 69 f. 66.9-74.5 43%-53% Day 113 3/10: Played Hip Hop Radio. 65.7-72.1 40%-60% Day 114 3/11: Played Santana Radio. 66.6-73.9 39%-57% Day 115 3/12: Played Classic Rock Radio. Drank 0.75 gallons plain water=36 ppm 6.8 ph 70 f. 65.7-72.5 40%-57% Day 116 3/13: Played RAIGN Radio. 64.0-72.9 35%-56% Day 117 3/14: Played Reggae Radio. 65.8-72.7 41%-56% Day 118 3/15: Played Classic Rock Radio. She spent a couple hours under the lights then I put her into the dry tent staying dark and cool. Final Weekly Notes: This girl has come to an end and is now inside my dry tent for 48 hours before the chop and trim. Day 37 - Everything looks good.... they are drinking so much.... i built a bit more stable light setup, and i'll need to buy afew more plugs and stuff, to fill it out ...... i organised all the 2700k globes, ready to swap in..... still waiting on the exhaust fan, so i'll keep em in "grow" mode another week or 2 .... i'm vaping a leaf or 2, and drinking "green tea hot chocolates" .... it is so delicious in hot chocolate .... my health has picked up since starting the vape/drinks... the 21 thc/19 cbd is supa healthy ... Day 38 - Getting them ready for Flower, noticed they are lacking in nutrients, so i started em on the heavier dutch master gold flower nutrients. Day 40 - Added some pics. (they look droopy because they in night mode, just turned on lights for pic) - Started them on 12/12 flower, still working on getting all the lights, gear, and globes, for the right spectrum and amount of light.... atm got - 7x 2700k (click) , 2x 6400k (osram), + 60w light panel .... i'll go get some more gear today and hope to expand it to 10x 2700k , 2x 6400k ...... I put the exhaust filter fan on seperate power, so it doesn't go on/off with the timer, but stays on all the time.... it totally fixed up any odour problems, haha ....... Added some different pics for my light spectrum ... etc..... the outside winter temp is now at 40-60oF (5-15oC) so with the 12/12h, the temp inside the tent is dropping to 60-80oF (18-22oC), abit low, but flowering is supposed to be in winter, so idk, see how it goes..... I'm new to growing, so idk how this will work out....... just working it as i go.... i noticed afew spots on a leaf, so i upped the neuts abit more, they are still drinking like fish, huge amounts.... Day 40 late - new vids - Got the extra gear and installed it all... redesigned the initial setup, refined it with proper measurements, had to get my steel rule out, lol....... got the 12 leds in and running, 10x 2700k clicks, and 2x 6400k osrams, with the panel..... it's lookin beautiful and got the exhaust on 24 hrs now, all working perfect with 12/12 timer.... they are forming a few spots on leaves, so hammering the nute water into them now... they are drinkin 1-2 litre of nute water a day each.... (nute water = Dutch mater gold one grow/flower, 800-1000 ppm 6 PH) 😎 Some details about lights.... i did some maths on it, and included some handy pics..... because i'm using cheap leds, i'm keeping the distance at 25cm, they are leds so they won't burn, and it massively increases the lumens/lux/Par, and with my home built light setup, the leds are spread out enough to keep it lower.... worked out good..... something of note is that all the led globes are built/made in china... however different marketing/selling companies from around the world... and the german osrams are 1w leds ... by far the most superior, but anyone can design and send the requirements to china to build em, haha) it's not a contest, we all work together.... haha.... the person with the best led light globes gets my business, because i want the best for my babies.... :) (let me explain- 1w led vs 0.5 w led, the watt of the led projects the light, lumens, LX/PAR etc much further the higher the watt of the led....my 600w panel has 0.5w leds, the philips has 0.75, the osrams have 1w leds..... ) each globe philips (dutch)- 10.5w internal - 14 leds 0.75w 1055 lumens each globe osram (german)- 10.5w internal - 10 leds 1w 1080 lumens each globe click (cheap)- 9w internal - 16 leds 0.56w 800 lumens light panel - 70w - 600w 30 red - 8 red 12 blue - 8 white 7500k 1 ir - 1 uv = 20x blue 6400k - 38x red 2700k internal - 60 double leds - 120x0.5w 6000 lm

Day 42- They’re all looking and smelling great. Fed with some cronk nutrients as I’ve decided to not top dress yet. So wanted to give them a little boost but no issues or complaints. Keep it simple. Just hittin em when dry and turning pots to maximize what coverage I have with the S33 Day 47- hit them with 2 molasses feedings every other day. Still no major issues, a little tip burn on all of them from the Cronk besides the BG3. She’s still green as can be but still the smallest and frostiest. BG1 is just fire. Regretting not getting more tops on her. She’s greasy and the loudest. Motorbreath is funky in her own but just more on the earthy diesel side which I still love. Hoping for a little more swelling and fade

I’m very happy with this strain and would highly recommend. The grow went well despite having some nutrient issues on my part off the bat, the plant over stretched and burnt the main cola on the light. But overall the plant ended up very large and beautiful. I’d guess i get 3+ ounces from this plant.

This strain was overall awesome. It had absolutely wonderful colors while growing with a great sweet very good sent. Definitely will grow this again awesome all the way around. Haven't problems with this strain Thanks Fastbuds:)

Good weather here. The branches that show advanced signs of multiple nutes deficiencies (N + K) are almost ripen, I consider this as phisiologic signs of age, the others are perfectly normal but immature. Maybe this is due to the rose roots near the plant that are sucking nutrients. As she has lost apical dominance the buds are very omogeneus, big, fat, frosty. Lots of thin pistils. Found 4 little spots of bud rot promptly removed. This issue is related only to the partially shaded side of the plant til now, not good. Gotta lay with her for the next week, divorce is around the corner. Mayor defoliation on Sunday. Last nutrients on Monday. Now the whole sun is for her but only for three days, ripen or not I'll crop her the next Sunday as a rainy and cold week is coming and this fucking plant is prone to bud rot and couldn't survive under the tent. Damned plant. I have no more room to dry weed, everything in my home smell of weed, my family too. Special Kush is still drying...

March 08 I left the air purifier on by accident again last night so there was a blue light overnight. The buds look good though. I taped the window up so I'm no longer having a humidity issue at night. I alternate between having the light on at 100% and 75% and recently 50% as well. March 10 I just fed them Ph'd water with molasses. Runoff pH 6.2-6.5, ppm 200-600. I'm having trouble getting good shots of the trichromes but I'm starting to see more amber ones. Less than 5%.

Plant was chugging in the last couple days as seen in raising EC and lowering PH but I found a single bud with mold in it so I removed it and and harvested on day 76 from sprout. One of the reasons I prefer longer stretched plants compared to small stubby ones is the bud size, they were grown so much in to one another that air flow was very restricted. Values are average of the day.
