The first part of this week has been great. It's cool but dry. There's was no dew on day 2. It's sunny with low humidity during the day. The plants are feeding on the built up nutes in the soil. I did not feed the listed formula although that is what I use prior to the flush week and thought I'd include it. We missed two projected rains and received one very light rain in the early a.m. hours of day 6 of this week. This was a great week for the girls. The rain didn't materialize like the forecast. We still had p.m. hours humidity in the 90s and cool nights, but these girls handled it. Only one has shown susceptibility to powdery mildew. Overall this is a beast outdoor strain for the Midwest USA. We have had a lot of leaf eating caterpillars attacking the plants because the trees are losing their green leaves. Just some natural defoliation no biggie.

Buds are starting to get really fat on 3 of the 4 plants. No amber on the trichomes yet so it will be a few more weeks till harvest at a minimum. The one that did the most stretching is just starting to thicken up on the buds. Been having issues with my drainage system causing a bit flooding in my tent. I see a few signs of deficiencies on one of the plants but I can't properly have access to it to see what is going on. The 4x4 tent has proven to be just too small for these thicc ladies. After this grow I'll be getting a much bigger tent. Any recommendations?

Man, it's been a crazy week. These past few days have been brutal – seriously cold with this crazy humidity. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the chills and the way my skin feels all sticky. It's been a struggle, but I'm finally getting on top of things. I think I've figured out a good routine to dry things out around here, so hopefully, I'll be feeling a lot more comfortable soon. My gas tax plant's looking absolutely incredible. The buds are gonna be huge, I can already tell. It's got this insane amount of crystals too, which is always a good sign. I love the shape of the leaves, they're so tiny. And guess what? I've got over a hundred seeds from that plant, so I'm definitely going to grow a bunch of them and see which ones turn out the best.

Week 02 Introduction This week has been a bit of a struggle. Had my first experience dealing with slime and brown algae. But I think adding enzymes and increasing the beneficial bacteria helped to fix the issue. Also experienced nutrient burn for the first time. My nutrient solution strength got as high as 671 PPMs. So backed it down to about 430 PPMs during the end-of-week reservoir change. Also cut Hydroguard (expired?), CaliMagic, and Superthrive from this grow. Now she's still stunted, but is starting to recover. Hopefully... [START OF WEEK 02] Day 01 - Monday - 08/10/20 - Total Days: 008 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Still looks a bit yellow. But getting larger! --- Solution strength was at 248 PPMs. --- Just topped off with a bit of distilled water --- PH went up to 6.1 so PH'd down to 5.8 --- Ran the top feed for a bit to wet the hydroton. - [2130]: She's looking even more yellow now. --- Even the new leaves are really yellow. --- Decided to add more base nutes. --- Added 4ml of Sensi A --- Added 4ml of Sensi B --- Now at about --- Solution Strength went up to 304 PPM. --- PH was at 6, --- Also raised the water level a bit more. --- I really hope it's a nutrient deficiency and not an over-watering issue. --- Please live! Day 02 - Tuesday - 08/11/20 - Total Days: 009 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looking less droopy. But still yellow. --- Decided to do a reservoir change. --- 4.5gal of distilled water --- 8ml of Sensi Grow A --- 8ml of Sensi Grow B --- 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- 4ml of B-52 --- 4ml of CaliMagic --- 4ml of Hydroguard --- 4 drops of Superthrive --- PH'd down to 5.8 --- Solution strength: 302 PPM --- Since I didn't want to risk over-watering the rockwool, I did not to do a top feed, may do one tonight after the sleep cycle (lights are still set to go off at 10am and back on at 4pm). --- As I was doing a reservoir change, I noticed that the tubes and bucket were a bit slimy. Didn't really stink or anything. Is this normal? Maybe due to the Hydroguard and Voodoo Juice? --- I hope she gets better soon! - [2215]: Getting larger! But still yellow. --- Also can see a root growing through the net pot! Tiny little thing but it's there! Will have to start dropping water once more appear. --- After looking over a few DWC diaries using AN nutes, seems like my solution strength is still too low. Most around this stage average around 500 PPMs with about 4ml per gallon. --- Top fed for a minute to wet the top of the hydroton. --- Solution strength went down to 263 PPM. --- Added 8ml more of Sensi A --- Added 8ml more of Sensi B --- Now base nutes are at 16ml for 4.5 gal of water. --- PPMs went up to 411. --- Still lower than 500 PPMs, but that's okay. --- PH was at 6. Not sure if I should adjust PH using AN nutes. So going to not ajdust unless PH goes above 6.1. Day 03 - Wednesday - 08/12/20 - Total Days: 010 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looks like more root growth! --- She still looks yellow. But leaves are perky. --- PH was at 6.2 so lowered down to 5.8. --- Solution strength was at 394 PPMs --- Since roots are still growing, I decide to lower the water level a bit. Now water level is a bit below the net pot. - [2200]: Root is getting longer! --- Slime is returning. Not sure why. --- Solution strength: 357 PPMs --- PH: 6.1 --- Decided to add an enzyme along with more beneficial bacteria to hopefully cure the slime. --- Added 16ml of Sensizym --- Added 5ml of Hydroguard --- Added 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- New solution strength: 430 PPMs --- New PH: 6.1 --- Top fed for a minute. --- This slimy residue is really freaking me out! I hope the added enzymes will help eliminate the slime. --- Going to do a full reservoir sterilization/nutrient change over the weekend. Please survive until then girl! Day 04 - Thursday - 08/13/20 - Total Days: 011 ----------------------------------- - [0930]: I think the enzymes worked! There is little to no slime now! --- Although I think the root was also dissolved in the process. It's now just a little stub sticking just below the net pot. The enzyme is also suppose to dissolved dead roots too but guess that root was too weak? Not sure what happened there. But I think the slime is cured! --- Solution strength went down to 395 PPMs. Decided to add more base nutrients. --- Added 8ml of Sensi A --- Added 8ml of Sensi B --- Added 4ml of B-52 --- Solution strength went up to 598 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.1 --- As long as the PH is between 5.5 and 6.3, I'm not going to use PH Up or Down. But still will monitor PH levels. - [1715]: Checked up on her after her nap and shes looking alive but stunted. But no slime! --- Decided to add some sugars to help maintain the enzymes and beneficial bacteria. --- Solution strength was at 587 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.2 --- Added 8ml of Bud Candy --- Solution strength went up to 671 PPMs. --- PH also went up to 6.3 --- Lowered water level a bit to hopefully promote more root growth. --- Top fed for a minute. --- She is getting bigger, but still looks yellow. Day 05 - Friday - 08/14/20 - Total Days: 012 ----------------------------------- - [0915]: Leaves look a little burnt on the tips. Still no slime. --- Going to back off on the PPMs to hopefully fix the nutrient toxicity. --- Solution strength was at 632 PPMs --- PH was at 6.3 --- Added/Removed water until PPMs were at 536. --- PH was still at 6.3 --- Raised water up a bit, then top fed for a minute. - [2200]: Looking better. Still yellow though. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 6.5 --- Added PH down. --- New solution strength: 518 PPMs --- New PH: 5.2 --- PH was kind of high. So decided to PH down. Had to use quite a bit to bring it down. But eventually got it to drop down to 5.3. A little low, but so far, the PH has always gone up so wanted to start it really low. --- Ran the top feed for a minute to re-saturate the top of the hydroton. Day 06 - Saturday - 08/15/20 - Total Days: 013 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: She looks stunted. leaves are still yellow. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 5.6 --- Top fed for a minute. --- Not sure what to do at this point. Going to do another reservoir change soon. Hoping she lives until then. - [2145]: Looking pretty much the same. --- A bit of slime has returned. Since I've been diluting the nutrient solution, the enzyme ratio has dropped. So I guess this is expected. --- Also noticed that slime build up was on the air-stones. Never really checked the stones so not sure how long that has been there. Looks brown too, which can't be good. --- Going to do an H202 sterilization of the system (minus the net pot) tomorrow so did not add anything. --- Lowered the water level to below the net pot. --- Then top fed for a minute. Day 07 - Sunday - 08/16/20 - Total Days: 014 ----------------------------------- - [0900]: STERILIZATION DAY! --- Decided to skip today's night cycle for a deep clean. --- I'm hoping that skipping a night cycle won't be too stressful. --- Temporarily moved her to a new bucket. --- Used about a half of gallon of straight distilled water to flush out the net pot. --- Drained the system and wiped up all the brown sludge. Also removed the air stones and cleaned up all the goo. --- Filled the system with 2 gallons of distilled water and at least 30ml of food grade hydrogen peroxide (35% strength). --- Yea its a lot, but since I'm not going to sterilize the system overnight, I went with a really high doseage. Basically I kept adding until I started to see little bubbles start to form. --- Then I ran the water pump. - [0915]: Boiled the air stones in tap water for about 10 min. Then reconnected them to the airlines. --- I let the air stones and hose soak in the sterilization solution for about 5 minutes so the peroxide can absorb into the stones. Then ran the air stone to help mix and agitate the solution. --- Occasionally, I'd repeat the process of turning the air pump off for a few minutes to let the stones soak. - [1000]: Covered the top two row of holes of the net pot with some aluminum tape. Hopefully this solves the light leaking in through the hydroton. - [1200]: Used an old toothbrush and scrubbed the pump clean. Then drained the system. --- Refilled with more distilled water and peroxide. Again added a lot. --- Ran system again to sterilize even more. - [1530]: Drained the system and refilled with distilled water to rinse. --- Ran the system for a few minutes, then drained and rinsed again. --- Did this a few more times over about an hour. - [1630]: Added 4 gallons of fresh distilled water. --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow A --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow B --- Added 12ml of B-52 --- Added 16ml of Voodoo Juice --- Added 16ml Sensizym --- Solution strength was at 430 PPMs --- PH was at 5.6 --- I was going to add Hydroguard, but I think the bottle is expired. Since 2017 or 2018!? I think Hydroguard is good for up to 2 years from the date on the bottle or 6 months after opening. So not going to use from now on. I wonder if this could have contributed to the slime build up. --- Also removed the CaliMagic and Superthrive too. Going to only use AN products to eliminate the chance of incompatible nutrients. --- Placed her back in the bucket and top fed for a minute. --- Here's hoping for the best. She looks a lot like a pure indica already, very pretty :) Her root system is developing amazingly as well! Beginning of week.. Mandarin Cookies seems to be a little ahead.. I've been watering till runoff every 2 days.. Seems like I could even go 3 days in between with better results.. More oxygen to the roots.. And I just read on GWE website that overwatering can cause seedling leaves to be kinda.. Wavy 🌊 ... I always just shrugged it off.. But I would also get algae on the top of the medium.. Always just shrugged it off.. So wtf.. How do people use frequent fergigation?!?.. 6 times a day?!? That's insane.. Maybe in like 20% coco 80% perlite or some shit.. That's just crazy to me tho.. This run, I'm gonna do the best I can to make everything as perfect as possible.. I have been testing the runoff.. I water till I get alot of runoff too.. Like 1L of runoff.. So when I test it, The TDS is coming out great.. Just where I need them to be.. Infact they are both hovering about 20 PPM from eachother.. Awesome.. But the pH has been going in a 6.3.. But coming out at 6.0 and 5.9.. This is reused coco.. Mixed in with some coco/perlite I premixed a few month before.. But never been used.. So my goal is to get the runoff pH the same as it goes in.. Sometimes I have to run water at 6.5 pH just to get it to bump up a little.. So I may have to do that. It's still in a good range for the ladies.. And it should help bring the pH inside the medium up as well.. And hopfully STAY where I need it at.. But as for now.. I am cutting out the Floralicious Plus.. The MYCO+ has all the same shit.. So I am going to use the MYCO+ for veg and Floralicious Plus in flower.. Makes better sense to me.. But yeah.. These girls already have a different branch and leaf structure that Ive been seeing lately.. They are beautiful! Lol.. Oh yeah.. And I have also lowered the light down to 26" from the ladies.. Keeping it at 25% power.. They weren't stretching too much as far as I could tell.. I'm wanting them to grow into the light about 18" - 20" still keeping the power at 25%.. See how that works out.. I'm trying to avoid using 50% power until flower for now.. To help keep the heat down.. This light doesn't get very hot.. But the warmth it does give off and the size of it does kinda help the tent stay a little warmer than my smaller lights did in my 2x2 tent.. It was eaiser to control the heat I guess.. Plus I could probably upgrade to a 6 inch exhaust fan while running a carbon filter.. But I am very excited to see what these girls do! Mid week.. Runoff pH is still a little fucked off. This morning I ran water pH'd to 6.5 and the Mandarin Cookies runoff came out a 6.3.. But the ETHOS Cookies runoff came out at 5.8 still.. What the eff.. The TDS is good.. Going in and coming out.. Not sure wtf to do at this point.. Maybe just keep doing what I been doing.. But the growth on these girls is insane.. I cant wait till next week when the growth explosions happen! They are both already spitting out some nice, promising branches. I got a cheap PAR meter coming in tomorrow.. I hope it works as well as the $500 meters.. But these plants are looking good... for now.. Almost end of week... My PAR meter came in!! Hells yeah! So my light gets about 200 - 250 PPFD at 20 inches on 25% power.. This should be perfect for now.. As for the pH issue.. Ugh.. I'm gonna just have to run some 7.0 thru the medium or something.. So frustrating.. The Mandarin Cookies is showing some slight pH fluctuation spots on the lowest leaves.. I also removed the first set of leaves and branches.. They were just waaay too tiny.. Now she doesn't have to waste energy on them.. As for the ETHOS Cookies.. She's showing alot less pH issues on her leaves.. Some.. But kinda hard to notice.. This is really frustrating.. May ask a question for this grow... End of week.. The Mandarin Cookies seems to be getting the wavy shit.. Ugh.. Just the very bottom leaves.. But they are also beginning to yellow in spots.. I think I need to up the nutes a bit.. They are already beginning their growth explosion! I love this part.. Everyday you can notice alot of growth.. And eventually, you can sprout 1 set of leaves a day! The branches are sprouting out quite a bit as well!.. Its hard to not water every day, but every 3 days.. I'm gonna have to go to watering every other day, I guess.. I can already see roots coming out the bottom of the pots.. Wow.. I may use some Hydroguard for a few weeks.. Just to help the roots even more.. The ones I see coming out the bottom of their pot are already MASSIVE and WHITER than white!!! I think this MYCO+ stuff really does some magical things with these roots! I just watched a detailed video on how myco (not even gonna try to spell it) spouts its own root.. Which finds the nearest plant root and basically takes root inside the plant root.. Which then spouts out its own root system and is able to get nutrients over 700% or 700× better than without mycorhizae.. Crazy.. And it even works in hydroponics.. Somehow.. Idk how.. Cuz I would think you wash away the myco with each water change.. Maybe not.. Again.. Idk.. But yeah.. Crazy shit.. Anyways.. Gonna bump up the nutes a bit and water every other day (water, feed, water, feed, etc.)... On to the next!...

Flowering day 70 since time switch to 12/12 h. Hey guys :-) Finally the time has come . The lady was harvested and hung upside down in the dry tent 😍. Before that, she stood in the drying tent in complete darkness for 2 days and the large leaves were removed. The small leaves stay attached during the drying process so that they protect the buds and allow them to dry more slowly and evenly :-) . In the dry tent, the temperature is 18-19.5 degrees and the humidity is 54-58% 👍. In this environment they are now allowed to hang for 10-14 days before they are fine-tuned and trimmed clean by hand. then after trimming they come to ferment for 6-12 weeks in dark jars with bobeda packs 62% to keep the perfect humidity. After a few weeks, the Boveda packs 58% are used so that they can slowly dry out :-) . Of course there is one last update after trimming. Until then, I wish you a lot of fun with the update. I can see why this strain won an award, these are some good genetics. I have never grown cannabis until now and the yield was much larger than I expected for my first grow ever, exactly 50.8 grams from a single plant in a 5 gallon fabric pot. I started low stress training at three weeks and was able to get around 9 decent sized tops with minimal daily maintenance. The quality of the bud was resinous, semi dense, with many thick trichomes and large cloudy heads which made the potency quite strong. The buds formed in intriguing sticky stacks with many pistils, buds erupted from all sides and the color was a very dark purple covered with dark orange pistils, I enjoyed simply looking at its amazing structure. The scent was very pungent and sweet berry and almost soda like. The effects were indica and sativa hybrid with a dominant indica effect. It had a very relaxing effect with a strong head high and a calming couch lock effect which I enjoyed. Overall it was a fun experience to watch the plant grow and then harvest and indulge in its dankness, I will definitely be growing another fast-buds seed soon and the quality of the buds inspired my friend to grow some gorilla cookies :).
