Welcome to week 6 with four tall ladies of Critical Orange Punch. They grew a bit and I removed some of the lower branches that did not get enough light and were too small and thin. The plants look healthy and seem to like their 1.5 EC nutrients mix. Day 37: I only measured ph and EC which were both ok (5.8 & 1.6) Day 38: I added 20l water to the tank and added some nutrients including Calcium and Mag. I hope to prevent them from getting these rust spots with the CalMag. EC is set to 1.7, ph 5.5 Day 39: Ph down to 5.7 (before it was 6.0), EC is at 1.8. Gonna get the EC down a bit when the tank is getting empty. And I removed some smaller branches again because I don't wanna get exclusive popcorn buds. And I measured the height again which is 50cm in average. I hope they stop growing soon and start producing flowers because the space above is getting smaller and smaller. And I cleaned the bio-pump completely. Day 40: I cut down some smaller branches to get more airflow between the leafes and because I don't want popcorn buds. And I stopped giving them water. The plan is to keep it stopped for 2-3 days to dry them out. I am wondering when the flowers will appear. Day 41: nothing Day 42: Some more stretching, the highest branch is 74cm in average they have approx 64cm. Added some Bloombastic to the tank and put the watering system on again. The pots were really light and empty but the plants looked pretty smooth. Also I added Gen200 again.

10/11/24 she had gotten so overly dry that she was impossible to water. i had to scrape and break of the dry spots all around the soil and root ball so that water could penetrate. she was root bound from a solo cup and then as well from 1 gallon to 3 gallon. once the rootbound spots got overly dry, they became super hydrophobic and i didnt realize how bad it was. that may be what's been affecting the over all health of the plant. finally able to get her to hold weight in water so im hopefull 10/15 pistils are getting thrown out everywhere. a bit of a stretch so far but not too much. maybe a couple inches or

Day 12 I lowered the light to 19 inches or 51 centimeter. It's on 50 % I started giving roots nutrients 2 days ago I guess they are doing good? Soon i will be slowly giving some grow feeding with micro nutrients I will add another video to this week in a few days Day 15 : Yesterday on day 14 i put the output on 75 % and lowered the light to 50 cm. They seem to like it but for the amount of plant i have i need to put it to 100% and i willl put to 55 cm from the plants. For cover more area. And will start with some lst training today. Critical is finishing way fast.. don't know if I can keep her alive till next weekend but heck I'll try and let her die on her foot if she has to:) Been flushing all the other gals twice now. Temps are getting out of hands and I've raised the lamps to about 40-50cm height running only 50ish percent and I'm still burning them up. Been feeding them way too much since the beginning so there should be enough nutrients in the soil to finish up properly with just water. Noticed a couple of fresh nanners popping up here and there and at least one almost fully matured seed on the faster Critical, nothing too serious and no wonder since all the issues I've been running. Loads of tiny foxtailing on almost all of the plants even though I always raised the lamps a bit when i saw them forming.. definitely need a PAR meter since two 300W+ led panels are quite an overkill on a tent this size full blast. Still looks like solid harvest coming up and I hope to find a decent glass on sale to getter better quality photos on the harvest:) Keep on growing guys and enjoy the newest timelapse! Needed the gopro for a few days so some of the days are bit off.. I know the last photos from Canon are from D55 so should have more accurate dates on the upcoming videos

As of day 14, the Blackberry Kush is still exhibiting it's abnormal leaf growth. I've only ever seen this on another genetically purple strain, so I am curious if there is a connection. If anyone has seen similar issues in their own plants let me know! It's growth hasn't been too bad, and I am sure it's going to continue to take off over the next week! I usually top my plants between day 14 and 21, so i am hoping it is growing vigorously enough to prevent any stunting. I haven't seen any adverse effects from temporarily switching to my plentiful dry cal-mag, so I am happy about that so far! I am still adding a similar EC worth of Cal mag (.5) so it's good to have dialed in a rough equivalent. I hope everyone is staying safe, and happy growing! 👍🌱 Day 15: the leaf growth continues to be very screwy, and even if it's at least partially a genetic issue I continue to triple check all my practices and parameters. The PH drifts up mildly in my reservoirs between cleaning/remixing of nutrients, but it is going from roughly a 5.8 up to a 6.2 (at worst) with no change in the EC/PPM. Between the lack of EC drift and lack of smell, I don't think there are any major bacterial issues. The outflow PH is also acceptable (5.8) and the outflow EC is around .2-.3 above inflow, which is also acceptable. I dug into the coco a little bit, and the medium is not oversaturated with water (it is always a bit "fluffy" with good drainage and never compacted) and the roots are white and healthy. With the healthy vigorous growth of the other Blackberry in the same conditions, it brings me back to this being at least partially a genetic issue. I looked through grow questions of other diaries for similar leaf issues, and it seemed that most were either blueberry or blackberry strains from a range of breeders. This could be purely a coincidence, but it does make me wonder. The grows with similar issues seemed to otherwise have no commonalities in how they were grown. I am going to keep trying my best with this plant regardless, so I hope it pulls through alright! Day 17: being very careful with my PH and keeping it a bit lower, to rule it out as a possible cause of the twisted leaves and less vigorous growth. I am keeping it between 5.5 and 6 for the time being to make sure there is no lock out of micro elements like boron. As per the comments, I am being more accurate be using a pH pen as opposed to drops which I may have misjudges. I topped the plant, which is definitely a risk! But I am hoping for some healthier leaves to come in, and the plant hasn't stunted so far! It has grown the number of nodes it should have for its age, it just not as filled in and lush as I would like it to be. Day 19: I have been monitoring PH especially carefully, taking a few measurements per day and keeping it between 5.6 and 5.8 (a little on the low side). The runoff is consistently under 6 as well. EC and other conditions have stayed where they should be as well. I reduced any PH drift by running the air pump for the res 24/7, instead of just for mixing and before fertigations to rule that out. But I haven't seen any overall improvements for the leaves so I am reverting back to my theory of a genetic issue with this particular plant. It's growing larger and it's stems are thickening, so I'm just going to keep it growing as well as I possibly can and see what it yields!
