We have a super successful young lady. The Sweet Cherry Pie is taking color, is starting, the flowers are still swelling and we look forward to seeing the final form. 10/5: Comparing photos from the beginning of last week and today, it was pretty decent growth. If they were stunted from being in the temporary grow bags for too long, it wasn't too badly. --Blackberry I (I call her Halle), is really purpling up well, and looking like she'll be a single uber-phat cola...no branching at all..whereas her sister is all about the branches. --Wedding Cheesecakes are consistently big and vigorous. They'll probably be the best producers of the crop. --Orange Sherbets look like clones they are so consistent in shape and leaf structures. Kinda short compared to the other varieties, but nice and bushy. --Gorilla Cookies are also identical in plant shape, but two of them are a few days ahead of the other as far as pistil production goes. Also not a very tall cultivar, but many branches. --The late/stunted Lemon Pie is praying to the sun at all times and starting to look like she belongs in the same crop. The bigger LP is gorgeous..perfect structure, the other one is catching up, but my cat keeps defoliating her.😏 ---Strawberry Pies have massive sun-blocking fan leaves that require constant tucking, but they are branching well, and a couple of them are pretty beefy. The other SP is doing fine considering her crooked trunk and slow start. 10/6: Today I noticed 9 "lone" nanners on the nodes of the crooked trunk-Strawberry Pie!😧 No clusters.. just single pollen sacs here and there.🤨 These plants have experienced no major stress at all...I'm keeping it like late-August upper-peninsula Michigan in the closet. 80f/50%RH 👌 Damnit...this is a new, stable strain, right??👈 I've seen no other SP diaries with hermaphrodites...just my fukt luck I guess.😖 I plucked them and will watch for more..and I guess I'd better keep a close eye on the other two SPs as well... I just got my wife a new 16 x 7 x 7 greenhouse frame with the green semi-translucent cover for her 4' x 12' raised bed...if i see any more sneaky nanners appear, I'll probably remove the plant(s) and move them outdoors to finish in there. My biggest harvest yet, 385g dry oh my god. Never thought hydro could yield sp much so fast. And fastbuds genetics helping me achieve that. The strain is so potent we smoked a joint 4 people and had to put it out bwcause everyone got so stoned. Wonderful. wow! this girl also took the fish shit i gave her last week and turned it into huge buds! I am going to do this every year from now onwards. No visible PWM either, just like the others. Will go out to the pot patch mid week after this leftover weather from hurricane Fiona clears to see how they fared in the high humidity and low temps.

Outdoors , hurricane came , moved indoors, frost temps , going to Finnish off indoors

Not going to lie, with everything going on in the world right now, taking pictures of the plants was not high on my priority list. I basically snapped a couple of pics and took a couple of videos today and decided that will be it. This is not the place to get political, but I truly hope that against all odds by the time of my next post peace will have returned to Ukraine. In terms of the grow, plants seem to be doing great. Over the past couple of days, the buds have started to fatten up to the point where I think my yield will at least be on par with the last run. I'm still giving her another 3-4 weeks before I think they'll be finished up, but it honestly could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks, just have to wait and see. On a side note the plants are becoming more and more different, to the point where they don't even look like the same pheno. One plant has airy, larfy buds but has made some progress over past 24 hours towards tightening up a bit. The other plant has these fat, dense, stocky nugs that look very much like an indica strain, we will see how this affects the harvest. Today they will start to receive 12 hours of light, even my Daiquiri Limes, both, already started bloom, showing me what deserves to me in a few weeks. 😍 I can’t wait for that... They grown a lot tast week. Brown points are present yet on Northern Light one, but just where they appeared before, not about new leaves with brown points. Hope the worst had gone. Growing ✌️🏻🌿🍁😉

September 25 > Harvest at dawn for the big girl. The usual routine... except I shot a time-lapse video this time to play with the camera I won last year. Clipped the top buds first - then the base. Took me 2 hours to wash all that -rinse - repeat. ---------------------------------------- Well this was an interesting summer with this pair of girls. I learned that I don't really need a container larger than 10 gallons in order to grow very large plants (in my neck of the woods anyway). Now when I say large I mean how much space they take up on my patio. I'm allowed to grow 6 legally but 4 eats up pretty much the whole patio. And the reality is I don't need to grow plants that large. The outdoor yield will last well into next year for me and everybody I know. So next summer I plan to do much more serious pruning to limit the scope and shape of the girls I grow outdoors. I also learned that I don't need an inverted tomato cage style support if my container is larger than 5 gallons. The Durban I grew last summer was in a 5 gallon container and there's not enough weight in there to keep her grounded. Once up to 10 gallons you won't want to lift the container much and there's enough weight in there to keep things stable. At the moment I've listed 450g as a dry weight for both plants (updated to 458g final). I haven't actually weighed the 2nd plant yet and won't even trim her for about a week or so (I'll be back to update diary). The first girl came in at 235 grams. I got pretty ruthless throwing away small budlets and trim this morning as it took me 4 hours to take this big girl down and wash her up. That's only because I spent half a day yesterday trimming Cream & Cheese and moving Northern Lights around... and it's been over 95 degrees both days... so I'm ready for a rest. Cannabis harvesting is not easy labor. Diary note > There was a software malfunction a week or so back and I was unable to add a new flowering week, whereupon it was determined there was a limit of 26 weeks at that time... so I didn't add any more weeks after that until the harvest week. When I added the harvest week, it appears the malfunction had been corrected because I COULD HAVE added a new flowering week at that time. I think there's only a week missing. Differences can be noted with dates on the photos. If I had a problem this summer it's because I was too anxious to get going after a long winter nursing shoulder surgery and I didn't pay proper attention to the lighting ramifications when the instructions were there for me, and subsequently started too early. Next year I plan for an early crop of auto flowers to keep me occupied until the proper time for a regular crop. --------------------------------------- September 30 > Trimming and processing complete. I really manhandled the big girl with the Trimbag, largely because I knew I was gonna have a pound of herb on my hands (way more than I will personally consume) and I wanted to minimize my hand trimming. So when I say manhandled here, I mean I ran it through the process TWICE, using about 40 rotations/spins each time. It probably would have helped to be a tad drier, but we're entering a cool spell now and we've run out of time. Mother Nature has decided to turn off the heater... which has turned my Purple Berry Kush a nice shade of purple... but that's tomorrow mornings's harvest... <sigh>... anyway... where was I... oh yeah... AMNESIA... <hehe> Trimbag generated trim on 1st pass = 217 g Trimbag generated trim on 2nd pass = 90 g Trim generated by hand after that = 186 g Final bud weight for big girl = 223 g Clearly, comparing weight of trim generated by hand vs by the Trimbag here you can see the result of my "manhandling". Little girl was in a 10 gallon pot and generated 235 g buds and 360 g trim. Big girl was in a 15 gallon pot and generated 223 g buds and 493 g trim. Final total bud weight 458 grams for both plants. Hope anybody following along learned something this summer. I did. 😎 The trick is to not make the same mistake twice. That's kinda why we're all here. Kinda. ✊
