Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Starting to decrease RH . -[Day 103] Today the Y Griega started to push on her terpenes, believe it or not that plant smell stronger than the 6 giants Skunks (the Skunk strain is already a very strong smelling plant), she smell like a coffeeshop front door, the fragrance is absolutely amazing and fantastic, I will definitely grow a full crop of that strain ! -[Day 105] 42 days of Blooming folks ! It's getting serious now 😄 If it can helps you to realize, each plants gots 4 side and a middle, each sides gots 4-6 buds and there's 5-6 buds in the middle, there's 11 plants of 1,60m/5.25ft, how many buds does it makes ?? I've seriously tough the Super Skunks will be ready first, but Vanilla Kush has shown milky tric's after 52 days of Blooming, waiting for some few ambers tric's before starting the Flush. -[Day 121] Hopefully for me I didn't trust in breeders flowering periods I would have f*ck up the crop ... Plants are fading slowly and naturally, I won't need to flush. Checking the trichomes every 4 days, the crop will probably need another 2-3 weeks. All plants are running on water now till the end. Hi guys, So this week im expecting rapid growth on all the plants, my plant still has orange spots i call it plant aids 🤣. There on 18/6 light cycle. I will be doing some lst on them to try and fill my grow space out abit. I been soaking them and turning lights down for 2 hours then turning light back up for a few hours then soaking again so on so on. My misses plant is doing better than mine thats for sure tho. I was forced to chop a small branch off of the Fire OG because of PM. Tropicana Cookies was lightly affected as well. I finally grabbed a larger 70 pint dehumidifier, I’m hoping that high humidity issues are now a thing of the past. On my next run, i will definitely run a longer veg with more LST training. I feel like my buds are pretty small in comparison to others I’ve been seeing at the same stage as mine. The trichomes are coming in nice and heavy tho!

Day 103: It was a great pleasure growing the Kitsune Kush Automatic from Zamnesia Seeds. Only the main stem was bent and very few leaves were removed. budding up nicely now. One pheno looks to be growing different bud formations and is much more frosty. O stupidly didn't take a cut of this in veg so I've taken a flower cut to reveg and try monstercropping.

The plant seems to respond well to the doses 💚 💡 27–31 mol/m²/d (DLI)

So this final week the buds on this Orange Hill Special are filling out. They are getting rock solid and the calyxes are doing their final swelling. Also, the trichomes have started forming and up close, they are forming a white sticky film over the whole bud. The buds feel heavy and compact, although their size could have been bigger but not complaining with this amount of bud. I have just been feeding some perma tea and clean water since this soil is probably very high in nutes by now. I had some brown leaf points so just adjusted and all was fine. Now we go into the final one or two weeks. I did some final defoliation to expose some underside buds, they are swelling too. Removed some sticky underside larf, kept it in a box to gradually dry for a preliminary taste test coming days. The Tropsantois was a male had to chop him :( . Having some issues with humidity I think it’s causing some hairs to turn red on few buds ! Other then that trichomes are getting crazy on The buds , they are really filling out now starting week 3 . Flower tent is ac infinity 4x8 tent. With two spider farmer sf-4000. This tent has the exhale 360 co2 grow bag. The nutrients are not what each plant receives. Each stage gets its appropriate nutrients. I will be going back and trying to name each plant in the 2-7 feeding

D43. The first day in the first week of flower, and everything is great in the tent. The girls both look healthy, vibrant, and strong. I transplanted the clones into small pots, and they are now waiting to go to new homes as I won't keep any of them due to lack of space. ------------------------------ D45. All is well in the tent, and the girls are already stretching after flipping. I moved the fans to get them out of the way. Space is always an issue. #JustSmallTentProblems I am still dialing in the drip system, so it's working correctly before I go on vacation. I also removed the mushroom growkit from the tent as no mushrooms have grown so far. I'll wet it again and see what happens. ------------------------------ D47. The girls are looking fantastic. They are vibrant and healthy, and pray hard with their leaves toward the light. They have already stretched a fair bit, and the branches are also fattening up. I did medium defoliation below the scrog by removing most leaves and branches that won't make it up to the light. I left a few shorter branches to see if they'll make it up into the light. Finally, I gave them a fulvic foliar spray just before lights out. As we're heading into flower, I suspect this was their last foliar feed. Though I might do one preventative IPM foliar spray. I haven't had any problems so far, but just in case. Easier to prevent a problem, than to solve the problem. ------------------------------ D49. The end of the first week of flower, and the girls are just rocking the tent. However, I need to address the RH, as it is a bit high for flower. Yesterday, the entire tent was without power for five hours, so there was no light or exhaust. Fortunately, one of the circulation fans has a built-in battery and at least kept moving the air around. ------------------------------

Underfed these girls a bit and they had a late defoliation but they seem to have done okay

Day 10 Of 12-12, defoliated 75% of canopy will leave untouched until day 21 Flower. Running 1250 ppms of cropsalts, light dimmed to 75% @15-18” of canopy

Installed new Vipar LED light. Watered with pH 6.2 RO water with General Hydroponics Flora Grow, CalMagic and Great White. 1/2 cup. I have a fan blowing on the babies to strengthen up the stem.

Perfect tropical-like weather. No problems to report. Excellent growth. Still rearranging net tent as this bastard stretch a lot. Stigmas are finally forming. This strain surprises me more every day, she's the first to bloom when she should be the last, she should be unsuitable for outdoor cultivation and instead she's a great performing one. Excellent pheno. 😉👊
