Major changes here at Night Owl summer camp. Have had a rodent problem! Something has figured out a way to get into the dormitory (greenhouse)and had a feast on my plants. Five branches off the Harvey Wallbanger, and two each off the Vanilla Fizz and the 91Grapes. Oh my gosh! I needed to do something else. My wife gave me a spare bedroom for a grow nursery! What a girl I have! So spent the day yesterday moving tents and hanging lights and got the girls all situated in the new dormitory away from some vampire in the night. Will give an individual plant update shortly. ***ok, back. Let’s start with the Harvey Wallbanger. Miss Harvey was on her way to becoming my most interesting grow to date before she was devoured by some creature of the night. She’s a cross of Orange Diesel and Cookie Smasher and even at this early stage of flowering she’s producing a nice glossy sheen and sweet aroma to match. She is a towering 48 inches making her the tallest autoflower that I have ever grown. She is slender and resembles the structure of a clone but I believe her flowers themselves will be massive in size and trichomes production. To date she has yet to make a single leaf with more than five points on it. She is truly interesting. Next let’s explore the Vanilla Fizz. Ms. Fizz didn’t get it as bad as Miss Harvey but suffered significant injuries as well. Loosing two full branches and enough bottom bud sites that the bottom 30 percent is now already cleaned up. She is the bushiest of the three with plenty of growing bud sites. Standing a proud forty three inches tall she comes in last in height but may be stacked up the nicest. Last but certainly not least comes the 91Grapes. Since she received the least amount damage from nightly feastings we are going to feature her until harvest. Only loosing two branches and not much else she was spared from destruction. She is massive!!! Not a massive amount of vegetation just in size over all. She’s 44 inches tall and big enough around for a bear hug. She takes up the entire 40 inch by 40 inch tent all by herself. She was probably spared damage due to her size. Pom poms are everywhere as is evidence of cheerleading practices and she is captain of the squad. Going to have to get a little more creative with the way watering will be conducted in the future. The formula 707 soil is for retaining moisture in outdoor conditions so I am afraid that it will retain moisture indoors and be a pest problem.

Flush mode: one lady already flushed yesterday, 2 got their last feeding, and heading into flush when they get dry (2-3 days). One is a bit behind, going to feed for another week or two. Exciting times, lets see what we managed to grow for the first time! :)

Ok let’s go! She’s doing so amazing! She’s catching up at such a fast rate! I guess that’s brand new genetics for you plus that added Zamnripper umph combined force lol I trimmed away the lower leaves off her and she loved it appreciated it and boosted up! Dynomyco is obviously doing it’s thing too helping her get to canopy! And with help of the new light TSW2000 from mars hydro it will be a better outcome! I continue to give her a little spray a few times a day only lightly but it helps with the low humidity! I am in 2 minds with the flip! Like do I wait for this to go 4 weeks at least or just go for it so I’ll decide very soon! As that’s in a few days lol so she’ll be 3.5 weeks! So should be alright!

My good friend convinced me that trimming and training are paramount, so I've started with slowly defoliating the Creme de la Chems to try and get to lollipop status. They're just starting to flower, so I figured I could get away with a more aggressive approach. Because I failed to train these girls early, I'm stuck dealing with a little rain forest. What I've tried to do is trace each flower topped stalk up from the base, and trim away from the bottom up. 1/3 of the way up per day. I've now got a thick canopy, and I've been trying to just use leaf tucking and manual manipulation every few hours in order to keep the different height flowering sites in direct light. These ladies have really been thriving, and it's been such a joy to watch them grow! I like having two plants in one net pot letting them grow wild, but I think in my next grow I'll keep it to one per pot and train better from the start. As for the Super Orange Haze ... not as good. I attempted to pull the main branch over to train her to some empty space, but I was too aggressive and ended up popping her head off :(. First grow, first disaster. I took the head and stripped her/coated in clonex and pushed her into some potting soil just to see what would happen. There hasn't been enough foliage to really make me want to do any trimming, I've just tried to tie the stalks off to train them apart. I'm really sad about my mistake decapitation, but she seems to be doing well still. She's probably week 2 of flower based on others' journals. I changed the water midway through the week (which is when the videos were taken). I drained most of the water out, but roots prevented me from getting the last few gallons. When I refilled the res with RO, I measured the PPM at around 200. I have to assume that remaining nutrient was completely unbalanced leftovers, so feeding will have to just have to be experimental. My approach has been to give around 1:1 Gro vs Bloom and Micro every 2-3 days when I refill with RO. I want to build my PPM up to 1000, but slowly so that I can detect if I hit a ceiling first. It's hard to measure how much food is in the water based on PPM. CalMag is what drives it mostly, so I've been using CalMag as a sort of measuring stick. I keep the CalMag pegged to the Bloom food, but I know it's only good for initial dosing. I can't assume the plants are eating CalMag in the same proportion as anything else :(. If anyone has a line on cheap lab testing ... hit me up. I'd love to be able to test a few hundred samples at a time for NPK and trace so that I can tell (even if post facto) what was going on.

Nutrients: Kept the feeding aggressive with a double dose of vegetative nutrition (x2 Nutrient formula) to ensure the root zones and plant tissues are fully stocked with elements before the transition. Canopy Observation:the canopy is thick, uniform, and fully occupying the table space. The trellis net is officially filled out, and the lower branches are strong and rigid. 📅 June 6, 2026 (Day 1 of Flower / Bloom Week 1) The Flip: Officially switched the timers to a 12/12 photoperiod (Lights ON at 6:00 PM / Lights OFF at 6:00 AM). Schedule: First irrigation shot triggers exactly 1 hour after lights on (7:00 PM), followed by a shot every 1.5 hours. Volume: Configured the drip stakes to run for 1 minute per shot, delivering 5 shots total per day. This provides roughly 450ml per plant per day, creating excellent target dry-backs overnight to force vigorous root searching. 📅 June 11, 2026 (Day 6 of Flower / Bloom Week 1) Irrigation/Reservoir: Bumped reservoir capacity up to 110–120L to keep up with increased transpiration as the plants begin their post-flip stretch. Nutrient Recipe (TargetingpH 6.0 EC 2.5 Water: 110–120L Athena Cleanse: 120ml Silica: 220ml (Essential for stem strength during the stretch) CalMag: 10ml Athena Bloom: 600ml (Adjusting base to target 1.2–1.3 EC from Bloom component) Athena Core: 400ml Irrigation Adjustments: Increased the shot duration slightly to 1 minute and 15 seconds to match the accelerating growth pace. The early flowering stretch has officially begun. The tops are noticeably pushing past the trellis net layers, and the node spacing remains tight and stacked. Leaf color is an excellent dark green with healthy, bright yellow-green shoots driving upward at the growth tips. No signs of stress or stalling from the schedule shift.

Gorilla cookies and cherry cola are both hitting flower hard! The smells are pungent,the buds are sticky and the stems are strong! We’re getting nice fat buds on cherry already and gorilla isn’t too far behind her. They’ve taken very well to the feedings they’ve been given and all training done to them. So far I’m loving both of these strains 🔥🔥

1/15/2024 - Day 15 Veg: today is the start to week 3, and she continues to look much better. She's a little smaller than I would like at this point, but after the damage from the foiler spray, I'm sure that slowed her down a bit. Hopefully she will be good from here. Have only watered with 6.0 plain water up to this point. 1/18/2024 - Day 18 veg: Did my first feeding today with about .5 gallons at a 6 ph. Mixed in Jay Plantspeaker Quillaja 60 as a wetting agent, Rootwise Mycrobe Complete, Rootwise Bio-Catalyst, BuildASoil Big 6, BuildASoil Cow Cal 24, Pure Protein Dry organic fish fertilizer, and Yah-Whey Thrive. Also, sprinkled some OptiVeg around the base of the plant, before watering in. 1/20/2024 - Day 20 veg: she seems to have liked the watering from the other day, because she is praying today. Trying to decide if I should top her. I'm a little concerned the damage I did in week 1, with the overly hot foiler feed, may have slowed her down a bit, so I'm worried about slowing her down anymore. Her side branching is coming in fairly well, but I'd like to help it along, so I decided to go with a minor super crop to bend her over a bit. We'll see how she reacts.

Eight weeks of flowering I raised the PH to 6.3 and the plants that showed phosphorus deficiency no longer presented the problem, the absorption must have improved since the fertilization was the same. But as not everything is wonderful in this life in the last week here in the city where I live we had a great cold front 10º C. Inside the grow the temperature varied at least 13.5ºC during the night and light off and 20º during the day with the light on, the cold always stops growth but the formation of buds is going well apparently. Definitely plant # B3 is either photoperiod or locked, it has white pistils on the stem indicating pre-flowering but even before entering the flowering period I don't know what to do lol.

7/3/22 Stella is still moving along with the late bloom nutrient level this week. She’s getting close to the ripening stage, but still a week away. Today she received a full gallon of water mixed with the following nutrients: CALiMAGic - 2 ml FloraMicro - 3.8 ml FloraGro - 3.8 ml FloraBloom - 4.2 ml Floralicious Plus - 2 ml Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml The pH was 6.6, and wasn’t adjusted. She took nearly the whole gallon before giving back some runoff, but it was sufficient. The runoff pH was 6.3. The tent was 80.5F, with a humidity of 60%. She is starting to fatten up and her branches are starting to get weighed down. I’ve already used all of my LST poles on other plants, so I’m going to have to figure out a way to make more space. She sits in the middle of the tent, surrounded by 4 of her daughters, and a smaller auto-period plant sitting on a box in front of her. My tent is FULL! I ran out of time today and didn’t get any new pics of her, so I added one that I didn’t use the other day. Take care, and happy growing everyone! She is in the tent with several other large plants (her 4 daughters + 1), so she rests nestled amongst them, so she stands. When I took two of her daughters out of the tent to feed them, she tipped right over. To make a VERY long story short; I tied her upright with almost all of her branches bundled up loosely so that they all get light, then fastened her to the back of the tent. It’s going to make feeding her tricky, but she’ll be stable, and getting full light exposure. It also opens up more space in the tent. Not much, but some. I tied up her daughters branches too. Enough about that. She received a full gallon of water mixed with the same nutrient level as the last feeding noted above. The solution pH was 6.5, and wasn’t adjusted. She gave back plenty of runoff with a pH of 6.3. The tent was 83F, and humidity was 65%. That’s a little high to me, at least compared to my previous grows. However, my tent has never been this full before. I adjusted the fan to a higher height, and with all the plants tied up somewhat using LST methods, I’ve increased open space between them with hope of improving air flow. We’ll have to see how it goes. Happy growing everyone! 7/7/22 I’m just going to write the basics today. Stella is still triced up nicely in the back of the tent so that she doesn’t fall over because of the weight of her own branches. Her buds are continuing to fatten up, and she looks lovely! Orange hairs all through her buds! Yummy!! She’s still getting the late bloom nutrients till next week when we actually begin the ripening stage. These girls continue to flourish and ripen. They are lined up to finish in 8 weeks as opposed to nine as advertised. A real positive. Having said that I'm starting UVB lights as two hours per mid day tomorrow. I'll slowing increase the amount of time until the end of the grow. Add molasses to the top watering mix. Added optiveg for the chitin and finishing nutrients. The girls are really frosty and sticky already. But no blueberry smell yet. I still have high hopes for blueberry phenos.
