Since sprouting above ground I've been top watering RO water until the roots hit the water. I also covered the net pots with reflective film to avoid any light leaking into the rdwc system to avoid any issues later on in the grow. Day 5 - Roots are starting to touch the water so I'm expecting the growth rate to pick up soon 😏 Trol master unit is set up and connected to my light at 40% and on a 18/6 lighting schedule. Elles grandissent de 2cm environ par jour je les trouve magnifique mes fifilles. I watered the dolomite lime into the soil with 2 liters of 2ml/liter Supermix, also to give the upper roots more NPK. What she can draw from the reservoir through capillary action doesn't seem to be enough yet. As an Indica dominant, I didn't top her but removed the bottom two branches and try to keep the central branch under control by removing leaves. In total, I now have 5 main branches.

After I ran into (read: caused) some critical problems with my last grow I took some of the lessons I learned and am already back with my nose to the grindstone. I've made a few changes to my setup, namely I decided to switch to using seperate buckets instead of the combined tote for a number of reasons; Less risk of TPK from shared issues, less wasted nutes, higher air/water ratio, easier to inspect the plants, the whole nine yards. I also went and decided to upgrade from the SF1000 to the SF2000, because I could, so there. Took this plant down the next day after the Sex Melon, so there was no change in anything worth noting.

It was an easy harvest as the colas developed nicely. Hardly any popcorn nugs and very little sugar leaves. If the weather had allowed it, I think she could have grown even bigger, but I'm more than happy with the outcome!

End of Week 5 Brewed a nice veg-specific compost tea and the ladies loved it. Trying to make sure the soil stays nice and moist to keep the microbes happy and letting the top 3 cm of the topsoil dry before each watering. The ladies have gained some momentum and they're growing at a rapid pace . I also performed some HST by tucking fan leaves and softly pinching and bending some of the stems to open up the canopy whilst keeping the stress at a minimal. Pest Report: Didn't have much issues up until now... I noticed about 5-10 tiny little thrips on some of the leaves and I applied an organic microbial insecticide (Agro Organics Bio-Insek, Google it!) that seems to have taken care of the problem. Now I will apply it weekly to make sure those buggers are ELIMINATED.

There's a blank week, sorry about that. There are detailed pictures and explanations of the current situation. At this point, the older plant seems to be doing fine. However, the younger plant's growth has definitely slowed down. Suspecting potassium deficiency, that's why I increased the nutrient amount. But K deficiency might not be the only thing that's wrong. My pH levels should be fine, got a new meter and did calibrations regularly.
