. FIRST DAYS ------------- This week marks the end of flowering; one of my girls is even already ready, with big, compact, fragrant, and frosty buds! She seems to have focused on her buds more quickly, which explains her smaller size; the others still need about two more weeks. She was flushed today (see video); I’m letting her dry out under the light for 4–5 days, and I’ll harvest her at the end of the week. The injured plant is also ahead, but still has about a week to go before the flush. She suffered from a slight nutrient lockout until the end, but her buds don’t seem too affected; they’re nice and dense and still swelling up. MIDWEEK ----------- The Beginning of the End 😉 The three big sisters are turning brown and covering themselves with resin, The flushed girl is drawing what she can from her reserves and keeps swelling, And the injured girl is ready to be flush in turn! Next week, I’ll be able to cut the first two. I’ll give the three big ones one more week.

This was a fun week. She continued to stretch and started to show some flower at the end of the week. I popsicled her to clean her up under the canopy. I'm trying to avoid getting a lot of popcorn when she finishes. I don't want anything under the trellis. She is really showing good growth, and will need some defoliation soon.

Week 4 has passed✔️ They double in size every week😳 We are now in the preflowering stage they seems to be happy with the LST & Topping✂️ Next week i will cut the nitrogen & start with the bloom nutrient🔥 Take care 💚

Week 4: Girls have responded well to nutes. Defoliation started this week. White spots started showing, After research we believe this to be because of our hard water and getting water on the leaves. We also started LST using fishing line, however this did not work so we removed it.

No bug or disease problems. I even took her off veg nutes way too soon and she recovered like a fucking champ. I’m popping two more this week. Unfortunately i didn’t weigh it because Of some very unfortunate circumstances that I was dealing with at the time. I essentially had to vacate my premise within 24 hours. A few days after harvest. Anyways. I ended up smoking the whole thing with my friends and it was straight fire. The terps were crazy also. Super sweet. After curing she had a very sweet smell like bubblegum / grape. This was only my second harvest ever.

🌱 8×8 Adventure – Cash Express (Plant B) | Week 4 Taking Her Time to Build Something Special Welcome back to another update from my 8×8 Adventure, where twelve unique genetics are growing together under identical conditions while every phenotype receives its own individual diary. This project is all about discovering how different plants express themselves, even when sharing the same environment, feeding schedule, and care. This week belongs to Cash Express – Plant B, and although she’s following the same path as her sister, she’s choosing to walk it at her own pace. While Plant A has already started flirting with pre-flowering, this beautiful lady is still fully focused on building her vegetative structure before making the transition. And honestly… I love seeing those differences. ⸻ 🌿 Life Inside the 8×8 Jungle Everything inside the tent continues running smoothly as the entire garden moves closer to flowering. The ecosystem remains stable, allowing every phenotype to express its own personality without environmental stress influencing the outcome. Healthy airflow, consistent temperatures, and balanced humidity continue creating the perfect conditions for vigorous growth. One of the things I enjoy most about this project is watching twelve different cultivars evolve together while still behaving completely differently. Cash Express B is proving that genetics always have the final word. ⸻ 💧 Feeding Program This week she continued receiving the same balanced nutrition as the rest of the garden. Feeding Schedule • Plagron Terra Grow • Plagron Power Roots • Plagron Pure Zym • Plagron Vita Race (foliar) The plants continue responding with lush green foliage, healthy stems, and steady growth, confirming that the feeding strategy remains right where it needs to be. ⸻ 🌱 Growth & Development Although slightly behind her sister in maturity, Plant B has developed into a beautifully balanced plant. Her structure is compact but steadily stretching upward, and she’s beginning to establish herself as one of the taller ladies in the room. Every day she adds a little more height while continuing to strengthen the lower branching that will support future flower sites. Unlike Plant A, I’m not officially calling pre-flower on this phenotype just yet. The growth tips are becoming increasingly active, but she’s still investing most of her energy into vegetative expansion rather than reproductive growth. Sometimes patience produces the biggest surprises later in flower. Her leaf color remains vibrant, stems are becoming thicker by the day, and new growth appears healthy and vigorous across the entire plant. ⸻ ✂️ Low Stress Training Training this week remained gentle and intentional. Leaf tucking and light Low Stress Training continue opening the canopy while allowing more light to reach the developing side branches. She’s responding exactly how I hoped. Each adjustment encourages additional branching without slowing her natural momentum, and the canopy is beginning to widen nicely while maintaining excellent symmetry. Rather than forcing her into shape, I’m simply guiding her and letting her genetics do the rest. ⸻ 🔍 Looking Ahead Over the coming week I’ll continue allowing Plant B to dictate the pace. There’s no rush. I’ll keep encouraging lateral growth through gentle LST, continue opening the canopy with occasional leaf tucking, and wait patiently for her to announce the beginning of flowering in her own time. With the way she’s developing now, I expect she’ll reward that patience with a strong, well-balanced canopy ready to support plenty of flowering sites. Every day she’s becoming a little stronger, a little wider, and a little closer to showing exactly what this phenotype has hidden inside. ⸻ 💚 Final Thoughts This is exactly why I love running phenotype hunts. Two sisters. The same genetics. The same environment. The same feeding schedule. Yet completely different personalities. Cash Express Plant B reminds us that every plant has her own rhythm. She’s calm, methodical, and focused on building a solid foundation before taking the next step. Sometimes those are the plants that surprise us the most when harvest day finally arrives. TUESDAY 7/16: I graduated two of my hybrids to 3 gallon pots and moved them outdoors today. Both were Candy Cane x Amnesia Autos that had been in solo cups. They were both extremely well rooted and should do just fine. I watered them in with spring water and a little extra bokashi, dolomite, and azomite and wished them well. I hope to graduate a couple of the Candy Cane x C4's tomorrow or the next day, but it will be another week before the other CC x C4, the Candy Cane x Early Miss, and the Candy Cane (S1) are ready. Neither Candy Cane x White Widow seedling made it...😥 WEDNESDAY: I transplanted another Candy Cane x Amnesia and a Candy Cane x C4(purple pheno) into 3 gallon pots today. I watered them in with Azomite, Dolomite, Biochar, Kelp Me Kelp You and sprayed them with Boom Boom Juice a few times early in the morning. By noon, they were standing at attention and growing a millimeter a minute. They are loving the sunshine.😎 Tomorrow, I'll transplant another Candy Cane x C4 and another Candy Cane x Amnesia. The Candy Cane x Early Miss is a misshapen miniature mongrel, but I'm hoping she snaps out of her funk and gets busy growing soon. The Candy Cane(S1), and the last two Candy Cane x C4's are tiny little runts..I'm hoping the Boom Boom Juice I misted them with all morning will kick them into gear....🙏 I was really hoping to have at least one Candy Cane x White Widow in the grow too, so I went ahead and floated another bean last night..it had sunk by this morning. Fingers crossed... THURSDAY: I transplanted another Candy Cane x C4 and another Candy Cane x Amnesia into 3 gallon pots today. Out of Bio Tabs, so mixed up some of my recharged soil with a little extra coco coir, perlite, bokashi, biochar, and a handful of compost, along with some Osmocote Plus, then watered them in with azomite, dolomite and Kelp Me Kelp You. The day of sunshine did seem to kick the Candy Cane x Early Miss into gear, but I didn't really see much growth on the other CC x C4 or the Candy Cane (S1)..what did grow is really twisted up like the Early Miss hybrid..I'm thinking that I must've used too much Mycotrex and/or Great White on the new seedlings. They have all been rooted like crazy, but several had weird-looking, slow-starting, twisted foliage.😕 So the current line-up of hybrids in this diary consists of: 4 * Candy Cane x Amnesia Auto (planted) 2 * Candy Cane x C4 (planted) 1 * Candy Cane x Early Miss (not yet planted) 1 * Candy Cane x Amnesia Auto (not yet planted) 1 * Candy Cane (S1) (not yet planted) FRIDAY: Inspected for pests and repositioned them a few inches over so that they get another half hour of sunlight per day. I sprayed the area with Ortho again and bought a little air bubbler to aerate water for compost tea. SATURDAY: They've all put on a couple of inches since Thursday. I mixed up a fairly weak batch of Big Bloom and Grow Big plus some Kelp Me Kelp You and douched them with about a half-gallon right as the sun was coming up. I also prepared a foliar feed using Big Bloom and Kelp Me Kelp You and sprayed them well as the sun came up, and again after it was going down. I also started aerating 4 gallons of water today...will add the compost tea tomorrow morning and let it cook for 24 hours. The Candy Cane x Early MIss is a few days away from being planted and moving outdoors, and one of the remaining Candy Cane x C4's is a few days behind her. The other Candy Cane x C4 and the Candy Cane (S1) probably won't make it, but that's fine..I had really only planned to grow 5 hybrids plus a photo and a Zkittlez auto. Also, the Candy Cane x White Widow bean may yet come up. SUNDAY: I foliar fed them and sprinkled a little more Silicium Flash on top of the soil of all my plants and also mixed about 4 grams of Bactrex into a jug with 3/4 gallon of bottled water and douched them with about 2 pints each. That should really get the beneficial bacteria and fungus kicked into overdrive. I started brewing a 4 gallon batch of compost tea today. Since I don't have any Orgatrex, I am using a little Big Bloom, Kelp Me Kelp You, and Grow Big in the tea in addition to the PK Compost Booster tea from Bio Tabs. I'll add Mycotrex to it about 2 hours before it finishes and thoroughly dowse them all tomorrow morning. MONDAY: I fed the outdoor ones each about a liter of compost tea and foliar fed them a couple times as the sun came up, and gave each of the remaining seedlings in the cabinet about 2 shot glasses full each and foliar fed them as well. It looks like I've finally got a Candy Cane x White Widow Auto seed to sprout...fingers crossed that she takes off normally. If she does fully emerge, she's already waaaay behind the rest...🙏 Late last night one of my cats ate half of one of the biggest leaves on my Early Miss hybrid, but she's okay..actually starting to grow. I may actually plant her outdoors tomorrow.👍 It's been a decent week for them...tomorrow begins a new week.

What a journey it has been from seed! I made a lot of mistakes in the first few weeks of this growing journey. I feel like I had a mini-crash after finishing the first year of grad school, and although I am growing cannabis as part of my research project, I haven't been the greatest at paying attention to it. This is not an excuse. It has actually been a learning opportunity. I realized that my body needs proper schedules to function and grow, just like a plant. The problems with the plant have really been my own problems. Let's just say that a plant may be the reflection of the grower. First, the light cycles were wrong and inconsistent. I thought that I could manually control the light schedule for the plants and be alright. However, I was wrong. My sleep schedule has been very inconsistent for the past few months. Mainly because we are living through a pandemic, and secondly because I am a graduate student 😂. How naive was it of me to think that a plant could follow my own rhythms? I guess it highlights my 'plant blindness.' Second, the light intensity was low and PH levels high. In the last five days, I have learned that plants are living organisms (I knew this, but my plant blindness is quick to dismiss it, I need to stop fighting these "plant voices" (signals)) that require a proper environment to grow, similar to humans. Of course, a plant is not human, but it is alive and living. It needs water, a regular schedule (light (active) /darkness (rest), oxygen, nutrients, and an overall good environment to grow. Concern about the size of my plant at five weeks, I decided to conduct a few experiments at home. Here are my notes: Friday, July 23, 2021, I took the plant out of the tent at 6:00 AM and placed it in front of my backyard window that faces the Eastside, perfect for sunrise. On that day, I had a few errands to run, and when I arrived home, it was 2:30 PM. The sun was now hitting the West side of my house, and I had to move the plant in front of my bedroom window. At around 7:00 PM, I went to look at the plant and noticed that its leaves were looking plumpy. So, I decided to take a timelapse to see what I would be able to record. During "magic hour" (sunset), I recorded and witnessed the plant moving with the rhythms of the sun. Plant, like humans, function at their best when they are synchronized with their circadian rhythm. The pandemic has definitely disoriented us to the point that it has disrupted all of our schedules. To this day, I feel tired from everything we have all been through; how could I possibly think that a plant would thrive with such a messed-up schedule? The time lapse made me realize that the plant needs some structure to thrive, and so do I. So, as much as I like to think that I can be disciplined and follow a plant's schedule, I cannot. So, I went to the store and bought the Globe Suite smart plug to automate and schedule the light cycle to 12hrs of light and 6 hours of darkness. Saturday, July 24, 2021, the plant woke up to the set schedule of the lights. I checked on the plant first thing in the morning, around 9:30 AM. The leaves look much greener and thicker than they did the day before. Sunday, July 25, 2021. I was away overnight and did not arrive home until 2 PM. The plant looks twice the size it was on Friday! Today, I will water the plant. I got a PH test kit and realized that the way that I measured the PH level, the first few weeks was wrong 🤦‍♀️🏽. I measured the PH correctly, to 5.9, and added some Reefertilizer grow nutrients to the water. I watered from the top, distributing the water evenly around the stem. My partner pointed to me that the lights seemed dim for the stage of the plant's life. So I had my lights set at 100 watts running at 20 % 😅. I realized that I had not increased the light intensity since the first few weeks of vegetation 🤦‍♀️🏽. So I increased the intensity to 100 watts running at 60%. Monday, July 26, 2021. First check-in 7:00 AM: The plant looks like it loves all of the new changes that I have made! It is finally growing 🤗 The sun is out, but it is not as intense as it should be because tiny particles of smoke are present in our air due to the wildfires, and they create a filter that makes the human eye see the sun blood red. It is quite apocalyptic. Regardless, I decided to take the plant out from the tent and record a time-lapse. It is fascinating how much movement plants have despite showing no noticeable signs of movement (to the human eye). Tuesday, July 27, 2021. It has been five days since I have made big changes to the plant's schedule and environment. The plant is finally showing good signs of growth, and its leaves colours have changed to a deep green. I am not watering the plant today, but I am spritzing it with water. I decided to take another time-lapse of the plant, but this time inside the tent. As I was setting up the tripod for my camera, I accidentally increased the humidifier 🤦‍♀️🏽. Luckily, I noticed within a reasonable timeframe and reduced the humidity and made the environment better. I increased the light intensity to 100 watts at 100%. The plant will stay in the tent all day today because it is raining ☔️.

Bud forming so fast!!!!!! Comparing to previous plants I growth in witch I used biobizz light soil I changed kind of soil in this one I’m using canna professional and the different is quite noticeable I’m really satisfied. I was worried that the small box I’m growing in would eventually make the plant suffer but it’s totally not, the plant is responding well!! Started with the maximum dose of bud ignitor by advanced nutrient. I’m really exited for this lady can’t wait to se the beautiful complete resinous buds.. keeping growing with LOVE 💚

Added some CO2 to help with photosynthesis while at higher temps. These ladies really blew up at the end of last week and this week! The smell has really starting to be noticeable and pistols / flowers are finally showing! Side note I finally got more seeds to replace the one I lost early on. These ladies are really starting to become a treasure. Ended my LST this week.

Big plants but a bit slow compared to others, still got few under lamp. 40% of frost and smell compared to other trees I done. The only hope I have left, that smoke might surprise me. Because 1 grow before I had cotton berry rush, and it was quite similar, but ending up being the best smoke taste and strong wise.
