This week, I decided to take her structure to the next level by topping a few branches, and let me tell you—she’s loving it. 🌿 The growth is vigorous, and she’s shaping up beautifully to maximize her potential for flowering. Let’s dive into what went down this week and why it’s all so important for her journey. Branch Topping: Building a Strong Framework After recovering beautifully from her initial topping at node 7, it was time to refine her structure further by topping a few branches. For each branch, I left two nodes to ensure strong, healthy growth while encouraging a bushier canopy. Why Top Branches? Topping isn’t just for the main stem—it’s an essential technique for creating an even canopy and increasing yield potential: 1. Encourages Lateral Growth: By removing the top of a branch, the plant redirects its energy into the remaining nodes, encouraging side shoots to grow and fill out. 2. Maximizes Light Penetration: A bushier plant with more branches ensures that all parts of the plant get access to light, reducing shading and improving photosynthesis. 3. Improves Structure: A strong, evenly distributed framework sets the stage for a healthier plant that can support larger buds during flowering. The decision to leave two nodes per topped branch ensures a balance between promoting growth and avoiding unnecessary stress. Tent Conditions: Consistency is Key The room conditions this week have remained steady and perfect for her vegetative stage: • Temperature: Around 18°C—cool but manageable, keeping her growth steady. • Humidity: At 60%, maintaining just the right level to support her root zone and foliage. • Lighting: The Future of Grow (FOG) LED at 200 PPFD continues to provide optimal light for compact, strong growth. i will dim it up soon! These consistent conditions give her the environment she needs to recover quickly from topping and focus on building her structure. The CalMag definitely helped. No new growth is showing signs of deficiencies. Last night we hit them with a low dose of nutrients and more CalMag and they looked amazing this afternoon! Already seeing some pistols popping on all 4 plants, so I think we have 4 females! Going to up the nutrients next watering.

They still have to get used to their new environment... Light stress from the cold nights and a little lack of nutrients in the soil make them yellow but hopefully that will be all right. Because I give it my own schedule which is nutrition nutrition water. nutrition nutrition water.

The competition is coming to an end and I did not have time to harvest, I want to wait another week, I will approximately get about 2 kg. I really liked this unforgettable experience of growing this variety)) There were no problems, except for a huge 3.5 meter growth)) The smell is on the whole area, I will soon enjoy sugar flowers))

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. This week I had almost no time at all due to family commitments - I'm also completely at a loss as to what deficiency my plants are suffering from. I would say a serious calcium magnesium deficiency. But why? I mixed every watering with calmag - I suspect that the pH value in the soil was not right at times. The deficiency came overnight with the second compost tea. Oh well - I hope I can still salvage something. I would be very grateful for help. Thank you 🙏

Die Passion Fruit hat ihre dritte Blütenwoche hinter sich und die Buds bilden sich deutlicher heraus. Bei ihr besteht noch keine Schimmelgefahr, dafür sind sie zu klein und noch zu offen. Es war eine sehr regnerische, windige und sogar manchmal sonnige Woche, an der die Buds trockneten und wieder genässt wurden. Da sie gut angebunden ist, kann sie nicht mit Wurzeln aus dem Topf gerissen werden und der Topf nicht umkippen, da er beschwert ist und die Triebe nicht so leicht umknicken, da sie miteinander elastisch verbunden sind und sich gegenseitig stützen. Insofern ist der Wind nun beim Trocknen hilfreich. Sie hat keinerlei Geruch und Schadstellen und ist locker aufgebaut, dass der Wind gut durch sie hindurch ziehen kann. Aufgrund des aktuell starken Windes sind Makroaufnahmen jedoch gerade nicht möglich. There is no risk of mould yet, as they are still too small and too open. It was a very rainy, windy and even sometimes sunny week, during which the buds dried out and then got wet again. As it is well tied up, it cannot be pulled out of the pot by its roots and the pot cannot tip over because it is weighted down and the shoots do not bend easily as they are elastically connected to each other and support each other. In this respect, the wind is now helpful for drying. It has no odour or damage and is loosely structured so that the wind can blow through it easily. So the power went out due to city power failure 6 hrs into the light cycle for the day. That was fun. Buds have started to put on some size, so thats great! We were also in the longest deep freeze where I live in 50 years so the basement ( grow room) got really cold... especially during the power outage. Leaves are showing purple due to ( what I believe) cold temps. Maybe the outtage actually helped them because since then they really started packing it on. Very nervous about the possibility of herming because of what happened but i am keeping a close eys on things.
