Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos
Week 16 Harvest
17 th April 2020
This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution.
I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity.
This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary.
I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds.
And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant
so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name.
Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own.
She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing.
She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a
pleasant mix of the two.
It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other
than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc.
The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos

Esta semana el bebé está demostrando ser muy resistente, tengo problemas de humedad por la noche pero no puedo mantener encendido el ventilador por razones obvias. Durante las horas de luz la humedad es de alrededor del 60/65%.
A pesar de todo, las flores se van agrandando poco a poco, tardarán algunas semanas más ..

Bueno Farmers un error por ni contar la época de Pre-Flora entramos ahora semana 2 de flora, ya empieza salir la resina...sobre todo la Royal Gorila. No podremos pasar a led de momento próximamente mas novedades compañeros!🍁

[ Updates ]
Day 10 - Topped at the end of Day 9. Foliar sprayed with neem at lights on today. C02 has been increased to 800 ppm average, humidity lowered to 70%. Light power has been increased, now running at 35%. Amazing growth, finally removed all the rogue sunflowers as I didn't notice any significant gains having them. They're getting thirsty today but I'm going to give them another day, possibly 2, before I feed again. I'd like one last heavy wet/dry period for root stretch and then I'll go heavy with some organic nitrogen into flip. I can't use the same net as previous harvests because of the new room design so I'll have to create a new frame to start building the final even canopy. I'm fairly happy with how both groups of plants are growing into an even canopy within their expected timelines.
Day 12 - Light intensity increased to 40%. Fed today, 1.05ec (6.8ph) with 10-15% runoff. No signs of light bleaching or stress, their leaves are almost always praying upwards. They could use a lollipopping, but with how quick they're growing I'll most likely wait until a couple days before flip to clean them up now.

Super Orange Haze:
This beauty really seems to be doing quite well. The buds are starting to fatten up, and there's frost everywhere. Some orange pistils, but it's few and far inbetween at this point. I was increasingly aggressive with pruning this week chopping off flower producing stalks that looked like they weren't fattening up like the others in an attempt to get this thing down to 6-10 main colas. She seems to be handling it like a champ, and I think at this point I'm done with pruning until it comes time for harvest with the exception of the occasional fan leaf blocking a bud site. As a total newbie, I'm thinking we're about 3-4 weeks from harvest, and I can hardly wait! She smells like candy, and when I prune her scent gets all over my hands and I smell it for hours later. I hope she tastes 1/10th of how amazing she smells!
Creme de la Chem:
Well, let this be a lesson to everyone about the importance of early pruning and training. She's a plain old mess, and she's gotten into the lights. I've been bending stalks over which results in super cropping, and I've been tangling them all together sometimes on purpose, sometimes on accident. I'm just trying everything I can think of to keep her from roasting, but nothing is working. She's just doomed to be a complete and unmanageable mess. She's producing flowers, and appears to be about 2 weeks behind the Super Orange Haze. I'm hoping to just get 4 or 5 good colas that don't end up bleached and withered by the lights at this point. My next grow will be way more controlled!
RDWC stuff:
I swapped her water out last week, so still running with what I've got at the moment. I'm out of RO, so I've been adding hard tap water when they need a top off and then nutrients in the ratios listed until PPM is at around 1000-1100. I've been rotating in ice packs and trying a few other things like added insulation to the top of my grow sites in an effort to keep water temps under 70 at all times. I've experienced limited success in this as you can see by the temperature chart for underwater. The big dip you see early in the week is the reservoir change I did (last week's update was late, not on Sunday like normal).

Semana 10 de vida y así es como sigue progresando esta planta que cada vez me impresiona más. Comienzan a aparecer las tonalidades rojizas y violeta en sus flores lo que hace de ésta una floración muy vistosa .

Saludos 🙌 completando la novena semana y tercera semana de floración.
Las variaciones de temperatura continúan pero ella es ya de acostumbró, la humedad está actualmente en 80% y varía bastante también.
La altura del panel led continúa la misma en relación a la semana pasada pero ahora la distancia hasta la planta se redujo a 4-5cm del cogollo más alto, el cual está sin main-lining.

Sour Jealousy Auto FastBuds 2025 Outside Grow
Week 3 April 20-26 Veg
This week was mostly sunny in the mid-eighties and low 60s at night with an occasional drop into the low 50s. I added kelp fertilizer to the water twice during the week. She is about 3 inches tall. I have had her under a dome for these past two weeks. This week, after heavy rain, I removed it for good since the leaves were touching the sides. Hopefully no renegade squirrels trample her.

It was a nice experience, It helped me with some things that I didn't know before. It was hard at the beginning because the plant was on a bad situation. But thanks to some fertilizers everything changed, also with love and patience. Good production but it could have been more. Next times will be better, now we have to be thankful and ready to continue😜

This week I stopped to feed the smaller one which is maturing faster and doing now flushing. The bigger one is still fed because the flowers are looking too young and will propably improve their size. I think I'll do the harvest of the bigger one on 20th of August. The smaller one goes in ca. 5-8 days maybe I think.

It was so sticky trimming I did a wet trimm then let them dry for 7days. Then cleaned up the buds a little more before putting them all in the jars. I'll update on the taste and effect when I finally get to try it !. Gorilla glue #4 is up next but that wont be starting till may .. update gave it a little try and is already stronger than the Acapulco gold I bought online

So switched from 24 hour light to 18 this week which was about day 14 after last seed spread his wings also potted up from seed cups to 1.5l pots on same day, used plenty of great white shark when transplanting, roots fully stocked n crisp white, growth seems to have continued as normal. fast!!
So I had to wash the coco from ecothrive after filling each new pot I applied a flush feed at 450ppm! run off was 1500ppm not happy as I thought this product was to be used strait from the bag washed n buffered.
This is what I believe stitched me up in the beginning i should of checked before using it and not assume it’s all good because you’ve bought a premium product
Coco wash washed with ph’ed water 6.0 until ppm was under 50 then used 10 litre of AN’s cal mag at 2ml per litre half was flushed through left for 30 min the other half was flushed though again this was hopefully to buffer the coco in case it wasn’t as this coco is not what it says on the tin so far then flushed 10 litres of just a and b at 350 ppm run off was around 400ppm
I then transplanted
All seems well and happy
Open to others opinions and experience’s with echthrives coco with charge I believe Iv done the right thing because I’m sure those bad leaves are from the Unflushed coco I used in the beginning
Friday update
Feed was every other day this week to allow the pots a little time to dry out before the next feed hoping to get those roots searching the pot
I’ll mention after I transplanted and watered in with feed I placed the pots on a large bath towel for a few hours to draw some of the saturation out it left the pot much lighter then after they where left to drain on there on accord again hoping for root exploration
On Fridays feed I checked the bottom of the pot to see if much had made it down there, I wasn’t really expecting to see anything so soon but every pot had at least a few big old roots poking out and EC 7 was pushing them out am pretty stoked with these results
All in all I think the great white shark along with AN’s piranha, tarantula and voodoo juice
Are doing a smashing job of building root stock
I can’t wait to transplant again and get a good look in!! Also hoping my little efforts to keep the pots a little dryer from the norm are helping stimulate root production along side the additives
Fridays feed was up to 2ml per litre of voodoo piranha and tarantula 👊

I am still not happy with the ‘Blue Dream’, it continues to develop but shows burns on the tips of the leaves. The curled leaves are also a mystery to me!
The fertilisation is identical for both plants, the Moby Dick shows none of these symptoms in comparison.
Parallel to this grow, I have another plant that also does not show these symptoms when fertilised.
We'll see how it continues!

She's still trucking up some. Slowing down a little bit. But I'm gonna let them hairs speak for themselves cuz they're everywhere!!... Barneys Farm Red Diesel Revegged Grow
7 Weeks of Flowering completed

Hi everyone I hope you are all well.
Despite the rain and high humidity this plant is still hanging in there. She is super resilient and so far she seems to be mold resistant 💪
However I do not wanna push my luck too far and will probably harvest at the end of the week .
