Week 9: Transitioning and Training
The Durban Poison photoperiods are officially settling into their long-term homes and showing some impressive vigor. After the successful transplant into the 25-gallon fabric pots, the root systems are clearly enjoying the extra breathing room. This week is all about managing that explosive growth and setting a solid foundation for the structure of the plants.
#Environmental Conditions
Location: Outdoor Deck
Climate: High plains (Variable temperatures and shifting winds)
Sunlight: Full sun (approx. 14+ hours of daylight)
Garden Updates & Maintenance
The focus this week has shifted from recovery to Low Stress Training (LST). Given how tall this Sativa-dominant landrace can get, keeping the canopy managed is a priority.Train: Implementing a DIY bamboo trellis system. I’m gently pulling the main branches outward to encourage lateral growth and ensure better airflow through the center of the plant.
Irrigation: The dual-timer manifold is up and running. The custom-drilled hoses are delivering a consistent soak, which is crucial as the Colorado sun starts to intensify.
Nutrients:Sticking with the **FOOP Organic** regimen. The leaves are a deep, healthy green with no signs of transplant shock or nutrient burn.
Pest Management: The **African Marigolds** are positioned as sentinels around the fabric bags. So far, the companion planting is doing its job—no signs of mites or aphids.
Observations
The nodal spacing is starting to stretch slightly, which is expected for Durban Poison. The stalks are thickening up nicely, becoming sturdy enough to handle the afternoon gusts.
Plans for Week 10
* Continue adjusting the ties on the LST setup.
* Monitor for any early signs of "the stretch."

Gave em another aggressive trim up some lollipops this week hopefully wasn’t too early but hey it’s we learn as growers, but they are bouncing back super nice, praying a looking happy y’all! 😻 3rd week flower!! I think stretch is just about done (or very close), I'm really happy with how they filled out, we had concerns because we've never grown this strain and too much growth after the flip could of put us in the awful spot of having to remove plants..we'll be doing some light defoliation on all plants either today or tomorrow and will update after.. thank you as always for all the love and happy harvests everyone! ❤️🌱

Beginning of week 13 was harvest time!
Checking the trichomes on their main buds led to the decision to harvest them. Almost all of them had already milky looking heads and some of them even turned amber. Their incredibly sour smell was barely tolerable as well.
Made the decision to harvest them all at once, so the grow room can be turned into a drying room for them. Since this is considered an experiment after all, we wanted to try out wet trimming as well to compare it to the dry trim we're used to.
So considering #3 had the least amount of effort due to the low amount of head buds overall, we choose that one to be wet trimmed. It surely was a very sticky and still time-consuming activity, but we're pretty happy with the result.
Can't wait to see and taste them when they're finally ready, dried properly and cured a bit!
This is plant #1.
In comparison to the others she had the least amount of amber trichomes, with most of them being milky though. She could've enjoyed another week of flower for sure, but for the sake of the others being ready, harvesting them all at once was the only reasonable decision. Plant #1 is one of the dry trim ones. Just made sure to remove the biggest leaves that could prevent a good airflow between the buds when they're hung up.

Since I am in DWC and the fertilizers are organic, I take care to add them slowly..

Por el momento no controlo la atmósfera, sólo tengo un extractor ajustado a 400m3/h para los 2 lumatek al 75%.
Planeo controlar la atmósfera a partir de la inyección de CO2 en la semana 2 o 3 para ver más.
Mientras tanto tengo algunos picos de temperatura por encima de los 28 pero son realmente específicos.
Estoy tratando de mantener la humedad lo suficientemente alta para tener un buen VPD.
For the moment I don't control the atmosphere, I just have an extractor set at 400m3/h for the 2 lumatek at 75%.
I plan to control the atmosphere from the CO2 injection in week 2 or 3 to be seen again.
In the meantime I have a few temperature peaks over 28 but they are really specific.
I am trying to keep the humidity high enough to have a good VPD.

Pineapple Express looks to be coming in on the finish line, maybe 2 weeks tops on left on it.
The ghost Train haze i the back of the tent is still throwing out all white pistils and i see bo end in sight for that one, the ghost train at the front of the tent however looks much farther along and may be ready in 2-3 weeks. they are all looking healthy, save for some fade starting to hit some of the leaves. the flowers are dense and sticky, i cannot wait to experience these plants after cure!

Monster maker photoperiod feminised is now on its 4th week since pout the seed in the root riot cube I trimmed the first set of true leaves to promote more lateral growth 3rd nodes leafs are getting bigger and can clearlly see the 4th node developing

Just fattening and stacking this week! ❤️ the colours are popping, the tricomes are carpeted, these ladies are just beautiful 😍 I’ve been keeping the airflow high, it’s been hot and humid here, making sure these beauties don’t develop any issues in the last few weeks. No signs of pests, or PM, I did a small defoliation to help increase the airflow, as well as unblock some sites for that last push at growth. Can’t wait for these to be wrapped up, some of the best development I’ve seen with my homegrown yet!

Only just cut them down so will update on taste and effects in a couple of weeks 💚
So the sherbs are dried enough to jar still stinking of sweet candy and she is still very sticky 😁👌💚 got 28.4 grams from this grow as a beginner I'm very proud

SUMMARY: Its finally time to start the flush and I'm aiming to flush for 2 weeks. I started the flush on day 95 flushing with tap water straight from the hose. I’ve heard you’re supposed to flush with 3x the container volume, however that would be around 57 litres for a 5 gallon pot which seems absurd. I didn’t record the amount but I took my time and flushed with at least 30 litres.
I am now continuing to water twice daily until harvest aiming for 20-30% runoff each time. I water once of a morning around 11:00 giving roughly 2-2.5L and again of an evening around 18:00 giving a further 2.5-3L.

Der Harvest war erfolgreich, alle bis zum maximalen Ende stehen lassen. Alles gleichzeitig zu ernten war ein bisschen unentspannt, da der Indoorgrow gleichzeitig zum trocknen hängt! Dennoch mega glücklich!!! Jetzt beginnt das Aushärten, die meisten Behälter sind zwischen 67-73% bleiben aber noch 1-2Tage offen.☮️

At the end of week 3 I topped one of the strawberry cough they are all looking good and starting to veg I’m all caught up with the grow diary’s and will add at the end of every week. I’m in Australia and did start a little late into the season but hope to get a decent grow in they will be at my brothers once transplanted and he has a few aswel that I will add into the grow log nothing but sun and water only use a little thrive that’s from Bunnings that I get from my pops shed. They will be in a nicer cleaner soil when transplanted into veggie beds and will have chicken poo as a nutrient source first time ever using chicken poo so see how it goes. Will keep the grow log updated and hopefully everything goes all well for the travel and transplant for the plants in the next few days
