This week i harvested her on day 88 from seed week 13. This girl had some issues. She none the less survived long enough to finish up. Around the 2 week of flower she began burning up underneath the led's ( which don't get that hot). It's really weird, because out of 3 plants that were under the led's i run, this candy kush was the only one to react this way. I narrowed it down to this being the issue after flushing and verifying run off ph, defoliation, and nutrient decreases.She was also transplanted during preflower from a 1 gallon to a 5 gallon pot, which she took to well and really grew alot bigger from. I pulled off soooo many damaged leaves from the issues that occurred from the burning. It was so bad, i eventually built a greenhouse for her to finish up in. Although i think she could have been grown better and produced more, i cannot complain. I did oven bake some bottom branch larf buds and rolled up a sample. Of course the terpines were garbage and she tasted like shit haha, but the high was pretty good and intense! After she is done drying i will supply dry picks and weights, then she will be going into them curing jars. Oh and she was flushed for one week using only tps signal and molasses. She will indeed get another run in the future.

So week three of flower is looking good. Optic 1 XL is really helping the flower bloom. I started using beastie bloomz and I stared to see the blooms come out by mid week. What I thought was a nut burn was lack of calmag. I just started to double the dosage. One day the full line of the go box the next day I’ll do full dosage of base, calmag, and a full dosage of beastie bloomz. Seems to be working out fine. Smell is starting to kick in. I love the smell of it. I can only imagine how it’s going to smell when ready to smoke.

Using common sense

This wee was all vegative two phase. On day 7 this week the two shorter plants were transitioning to generative one phase. These girls are so fast the phases come and go quickly. This Last week was raining or cloudy everyday. I had to switch to dry nutes because the soil is staying wet. Feeding liquid nutrient mix/teas isn't an option. I've found a few specs of PM on the one plant I didn't top. I treated with Arbor bio fungicide and it's clearing up. The other two are showing immunity so far and are receiving no treatment.The nutes are listed as ml/gallon of soil topdressed. After day 2 inspection I believe I ran the nutes a little hot. They should grow into them. Adding a second topdress of 800ml of coop poop 2-4-3 on day 6 this week. We got a big rain day 7 early morning. It washed that coop poop topdress in and really gave the plants a good green color.The one that didn't get topped is pushing 64" the others are about 57" so I used an average. I recommend topping but to keep that one from falling any further behind I let it grow without topping. The one that wasn't topped is being treated for powdery mildew with Arbor bio fungicide. It's helping the other two are still showing immunity and are further along in flower.

Oct. 04 - I've seen Magic Melon do well in a fairly small pot, a tiny pot may be pushing it but I'm willing to try, even if it takes some extreme measures I wouldn't otherwise perform on an auto like topping and heavy defoliation. At 6:00am I put a seed (fresh from the refrigerator) into a moist paper towel, sealed in a baggie, sandwiched between two magnetic sheets, on a plate with a smaller plate overturned to cover then placed on top of a refrigerator. Oct. 05, 7:00am - The shell has cracked and a small taproot has started growing. I placed the seed into the soil in the tiny pot, covered loosely and gave a little plain water. Oct. 07, - The sprout broke through the surface.

I would believe this variety again ... I think it could be better ... and do not make some mistakes in it ... I recommend it to all growers ...

OVERALL: ~ Very happy with the grow, I really dialled everything in well this run. ~ She grew super fast, I put it down to the constant oxygenation of the rootzone along with consistent and constantly optimized light DLI and leaf to air temp variance. The extra Co2 helped push the plant to its limit in terms of heat, allowing it to push its hardest. ~ The lack of HST and Defoliation I feel let it finish faster due to lack of stress and stunting. The faster finishing time along with the big yield and efficient MarsHydro light, it hugely reduced my electricity costs per gram and freed up space much sooner for the next plant. ~ Turned into a very dense bush of buds, there is even smokable dense buds at the base of the plant due to the under canopy lighting (Not as dense as top canopy buds but still decent) ~ Ran a thin line between stressing the plant and letting it flourish. The buds came out big and very dense, also it's hard to see on camera but they're very frosty too (Prob from UVB) YIELD: ~ 145g (dry) in just 9 weeks from seed. ~ 753g (Wet) ~ 0.91g/watt GENETICS: ~ MSNL - Gorilla Glue Auto ~ my favorite strain, as you can tell by my username! STRAIN REVIEW: ~ Heavy hitter, like an indica but has some of that "feel it in your face" sensation of a strong sativa. Not as heavy or as strong as other GG#4's I have smoked, which would make me question the genetics used to produce the auto version. I will wait till after a cure and judge it again. TRAINING: ~ No defoliation or HST (Bar last week for pics) ~ A little LST and leaf tucking but largely just left the plant alone to do its thing. I felt chopping healthy parts off the plant would slow the plant down and leave it with less chlorophyll to photosynthesize the light. ~ I did prune by lightly plucking dead leaves away, when the plant was ready to let them go easily. DRYING ~ 20/21'C 50% RH with air circulation. ~ Homemade Drybox made using: 2 x Bankers Boxes ~ 2 x USB Desk Fans ~ 1 x Carbon Filter ~ 6 x Clothes Hangers UPDATE: Day 5 after Harvest: ~ Fast dried some small batches, as we couldn't wait to sample. ~ Chopped off branches as some are down to 12% moisture whilst bigger buds are up at 18%. Moving to paper bag for couple of days to even moisture out then transferring to jars CURING: ~Curing in jars 3/4 full. ~ Dark closet/18'C/50% RH ~ Jars burped once Hygro passes 65% and sealed when it drops to 58%. ~ Stabilised it at 62% and after 2 weeks I'll drop it some more and stabilise it at 58% to bring out more of the flavour. ~Sitting in jars with Boveda 62% at this stage. ~ Already tastes and feels great. Cherry Poppers 1# Day 56# Cherry Poppers 2# Day 53# With a little delay because I'm a lazy stoned person, and in addition the responsibilities regarding the plants are already starting to grow, and I also have a lot of work around the garden and then I don't always arrive in time to release the update. The plants are progressing well, but now they are already hungry, so the next watering is for food. Two days ago they were topped for the third time, I also topped the two highest side branches. Yesterday was the end of their eighth week, the pictures are also from yesterday. Last night I sprayed them with SMC for prevention, but none of those pests can harm the plant outside as well as inside..first of all, the plants are much bigger, and therefore have much more leaf mass, and secondly, it is nature, there are many of them in nature, the only thing that can destroy them all are caterpillars during flowering and mold when the humidity is too high or when there are frequent rains, everything else does not worry me at all. Tomorrow I will move them somewhere where there is a lot less grass because now they have already filled this space and they can't expand any further, so in order for them not to get too long and to go wider I have to move them where the grass and other plants won't bother them.
