everything turned out very well :) and it's only with 50w and with 40x40cm space :) It was an interesting journey with her, a slightly different cultivation and old mistakes were discovered :) the flowers are not dense, but they are really very, very sticky :) I'm happy:)

Looking mint atm, some slight nutrient deficiency I think. Will use some sensi cal mag and see how they are. Defoilated again removing growth below main nodes to create good air flow and concentrate on big buds at the top. Can see some white hairs coming through , should be in flower now so time to lower humidity slightly and increase the light intensity. Can't wait to see them buds

Growing: 5 weeks Flowering: 9 weeks This was my first grow indoor from some time ago. First time using the Mars Hydro SP250. Was amazed at the result, did not expect it. Encountered a few problems, including Calmag deficiency and some bugs. Did not gave them water for 30 days after plantation to the big bags of 25L. Harvested all plants at the same time, which might have been too early for a few ladies. Nevertheless I enjoyed getting to know the lamp and hoping I will do better next round. The lamp was in this round not at max capacity but at 226w, it came like that out of the box and I did not adjust it. Also did zero defoliation which resulted in a lot of "Albino Tops" under the net, which I recovered to make butter and bubble hash from. Most of the buds above the net where really dense and not fluffy at all. End result: 320gr total, around 4x 70gr average from the 2x BB OG, 1x A.M.S. and 1x Jack, the Purple Bud gave around 40grams. July 18 - entering the final 3 weeks of Veg for these soon to be Monsters - feeding and fertilizing plans have worked really well to this point in time. Not one crispy tip on a leaf, thats just amazing with so many plants. (One autoflower had a meltdown, pH related / doa) - Machupi’s Lady gets a visit today. Once it left my hands, there happened to be a Name Tag incident with 5 plants. And its not the first time X (my buddy) has been involved. * Thankfully this one Private Strain has developed SOOO much differently than the other 4 identical plants, its a no-brainer now as to where Machupi’s Lady is… pictures to follow. Its a day of discovery. Leda Uno x T.N.R. (Both from kc brains and the first time seeds from this pair have been grown) - for the first time I’ve posted both congo plants, you can see how the windy environment has stripped the plant, of any smaller internal leaves. The Protected Congo is building a really dense ball of foliage. 20th - TLC has been applied to some of the plants, ahead of a big storm coming our way. Bamboo tripods affixed woven through a side-branch, joined to two others. Bamboo is 6’ and is stuck/hammered 5” into the ground easily, securely. Lets the main stalk move kinda-sorta, but its always being anchored in at least one direction. - with Bilbo Haze out of the picture (4/4 male plants arghhh, gurgling slow-death sound) I have invited a Honduras x Panama sativa, from good ole Ace seeds to join us. Shes been there all along, same birthday etc. I’ve never tasted it, truly taking my collection for a walk this Summer 21st - big winds have split one of the CloudWalkers; of course, the one that was topped. With 2 plants outside this summer, that have been modified by each FIM and Topping, both of them has failed and Split. Each was and is being repaired; rope / duct tape. But thats the last limb loss for any outdoor plants right now… LST ROCKS - the other CloudWalker is Robust, and still on the Menu

This week I’ve been mostly working on sealing my filtering system because I started to notice a weak smell in my apartment. I live in a building with 200 other flats and I don’t want my neighbours to smell anything when they walk past my door. I used some plastic wrap first and then duct tape around it. Tightly. So far it seems to work but I might have to buy something more appropriate. The two bottom leaves started to go yellow. I don’t know what it’s trying to say, so I’m going to ignore it. It’s only two. I’m new to watering but the plant seems to be quite healthy and strong so I’m just going to continue doing what I’ve been doing. Which is giving it water when I think it’s thirsty.Some days I give her water, some days I don’t. Anyway I think it looks pretty good so far! She really looks healthy

Day 69 (March 6th) Just gave everyone their last watering. I’m going to harvest and wash everything tomorrow night on day 70. I‘m not going to do that whole 48 hours of darkness thing because I didn’t see a difference last time I did it. In fact, it made my plant under watered before drying which caused it to dry too fast. Slurricane and cheese will be washed with h2o2 and the rest will just be rinsed off in warm RO water and hung up. Before and after washing I’m going to go over each branch with a flashlight and make sure there is no dog hair or debris in or on the buds. I will be drying in my spare bathroom (that no one uses!) from hangers. Aiming to keep it around 60-62F and 50-60 RH. Hoping for that 10-12 day dry. I wanted to do a full plant hang but the tent got pretty dirty and I would feel more comfortable just cutting and rinsing everything off branch by branch. I’m going to try my best to keep the full plant intact. Got my humidifier hooked up and running RO water because with tap water it deposits calcium and lime all over the buds and walls. For air flow I’m just indirectly running a small usb fan. I’m not worried about air flow in the bathroom honestly. It stays nice and breezy down there anyway. Got the food grade peroxide and RO water to wash up the slurricane and cheese. Everything except for the cheese and garlic#1 is looking more than done. Trichomes all look pretty well done. Some of them have even burst open. Smells are all super ripe and mature too. Can’t wait to smell each individually in jars. Next week I will recap what went wrong and what I will do differently next time to keep it from happening again. (Day 70F) Just got everything chopped, washed and hanging. The vast majority of the PM was washed out but I can still see very small amounts. When they dry out I can shake the branches a bit to get the rest off. At very least it’s sterile now. There is no question I lost some potency while washing but the amount is negligible for a much cleaner product. I could see lots of dirt and other debris float to the surface of the water after being washed. And no those are not trichomes, those sink to the bottom. I could put that nasty water through a bubble bag and wouldn’t get all that much. Although it probably does remove a lot of the actual trichomes heads. I’ll have to check with the microscope. Everything is rigged up for a nice slow dry. Temp is sitting at 64 and RH is at a nice 60%.

Chopped em down 1-13. Time to dry for the next 2 weeks. Smells are insane.

Overall its been a decent grow had some high temps but all the plants have turned out good in there own way this is the 1st time I have not lollipopped and I got alot of small buds for making extracts and hash etc the next grow will all be lollipopped and we will see some bigger nugs

No major problems this week, plants growing extremely well, the nutrient burning problem that I was seeing in the previous weeks disappear, reducing the concentration of nutrients worked great LST and defoliation this week. On day 49 the extraction fan was off for around 10 hours, fortunately no major problems came out of this. The tropicana cherry is a magnificent plant. Its stocky and stout with really great node space. I love how solid she is and i just see such a good foundation for stretch. A really explosive week of growth. I pushed PPFD up to 310umols. Dimmers are at 60% which is drawing 224w plus 18w of DRRB. I have alos started Emerson effect ... Another The Emerson effect is triggered by the simultaneous exposure of plants to light in the deep red and far-red spectra Deep Red 660 nm /Far-Red 700 nm . A bit of boring science that explains why you need both far red and deep red in order to trigger Emerson. The effect occurs because photosynthesis is driven by two distinct pigment systems working in series:Photosystem II (PSII): Absorbs energy most efficiently at shorter wavelengths (higher frequencies), like 680 nm (441 THz). Photosystem I (PSI): Absorbs energy most efficiently at longer wavelengths (lower frequencies), specifically 700 nm (428 THz). When you provide only the higher frequency (deep red), PSI becomes a bottleneck. When you provide only the lower frequency (far-red), PSII is not sufficiently excited to provide electrons. Providing both frequencies simultaneously allows both systems to work at peak efficiency, resulting in a rate of photosynthesis that is greater than the sum of the two lights used individually. To understand the Emerson Effect, think of photosynthesis not as a single engine, but as a two-stage assembly line. What is the Emerson Effect? Discovered by Robert Emerson in 1957, this phenomenon shows that plants perform photosynthesis much more efficiently when they are hit by two specific types of light at the same time: Deep Red (660 nm) and Far-Red (700+ nm). If you give a plant only Far-Red light, photosynthesis is very slow. If you give it only Deep Red, it's better but still limited. However, when you give it both at once, the total rate of photosynthesis is significantly higher than if you just added the two results together (1+1=3). What is Happening? (The "Assembly Line") Inside the plant's chloroplasts, there are two "workstations" called Photosystem II (PSII) and Photosystem I (PSI). They work in series, meaning the first one must pass "parts" to the second one. PSII (The First Station): This station is tuned to catch Deep Red light (660 nm). It harvests electrons from water. PSI (The Second Station): This station is tuned to catch Far-Red light (700 nm). It takes the electrons from the first station and uses them to create energy (ATP and NADPH). The Problem: If you only provide Deep Red light, the first station works fast, but the second station can't keep up because it isn't being "powered" efficiently by that specific frequency. This creates a traffic jam of electrons. The Solution: By adding Far-Red light, you power up the second station. It now "pulls" the electrons from the first station much faster, clearing the traffic jam and making the whole assembly line run at full speed. The Benefits for The Grow Because i am using the Biotabs water-only method, my plants already have a steady supply of organic nutrients. Implementing the Emerson Effect offers several distinct advantages: Increased Biomass: Because the "engine" is running faster, the plant produces more sugars and carbohydrates, leading to heavier fruits or flowers. Faster Finishing: Plants often reach maturity sooner because they have more surplus energy to complete their life cycle. Better Light Penetration: Far-Red light is very good at passing through the upper leaves. This "wakes up" the lower parts of the plant that would otherwise be shaded, allowing the whole plant to contribute to growth. Enhanced Secondary Metabolites: In many crops, this synergistic light can stimulate the production of terpenes and antioxidants, improving the "quality" (smell, taste, and potency) of the final harvest. The "Sunrise/Sunset" Trick I am using 4x Invisible sun Far red/Deep red bars,they use high-quality Samsung LH351H (660nm Deep Red) and specific Far-Red (730nm) diodes for 10–15 minutes at the start or end of the light cycle. This mimics the natural shift in light at sunrise and sunset, "waking up" the photosystems or signaling the plant to go into "sleep mode" faster, which can further optimize the flowering cycle. Enviromentally i am chasing a VPD of about 1,1kpa. My room seem to sit nicely at lights on at 24c with no real drama and a little help from a 220W greenhouse bar radiator. Its using abot 4kw/h a day atm because my room is attached to the side of my house and its been -5c.. I have had to add some humidity as its also very dry atm. Im aiming for RH of 65% with my 24c but it is more around the 62s.. VPD is crucial and is the focus for this grow for me. The autopots and Biotabs make it so easy ican really just focus on perfect enviroment. A VPD of 1.0–1.2 kPa provides enough "atmospheric pull" to move calcium and magnesium up from the roots, which is critical for the rapid cell division happening now.. Plants will be flipped on Saturday which is their week 5 as im a bit behind.. As this happens i will push PPFD upto 4-500umols. by week 2 of flower. Thats the plan anyway..

At the beginning of this week, I have been fighting the gnats, which are less and less now. Just some watering and gradually lowering the light and going to full power. The Orange Hill Special has been filling out great and I must say, she is a pretty plant. With some manual bending and super cropping, I'm bending the longer stalks sideways and we are off. What I actually do is more of an intuitive hybrid between mainlining (where I bend the whole plant 90 degrees at the third week), LST (where I bend branches outward slightly, without tying), HST / Super crop (where I bend the stems 90 degrees with the clips or manually), after which I keep bending outward to SOG and, put the net over to end in SCROG. This same method gave me the canopy in my prize-winning Gelato 33 grow. Check it out if you haven't seen it, it was my first experimental accident that led to beta test of Super Soil mixture 0.7, now we are at Alpha version 1.00 and testing great so far if I say so myself. I haven't seen such lush greens in my own grows, only outdoor. They seem uber-healthy and resilient, with very sturdy stems and leaves. Way more resilient than previous strains I tested in the beta soil. The light is performing, the natural color of it makes everything pop. Mars Hydro has a winner with the SP-3000. Halfway through this week, I took the clips out, AND...... we switched them to go into flowering. After a day the stretch is already visible. I had to bend them again after a couple of days. Now we have almost a tent filling foundation for a maximum result canopy of buds. I was wanting to amend the soil with flowering additions (see recipe in yellow image), but I'm holding it off for two reasons. A/ The leaves are still so green and lush, I think there is an abundance of nutes. B/ @Haoss mentions his suspicions on his OHS grow (@#CannapediaProGrowersCup Orange Hill that very sadly went hermie on him) that nutrition in this phase could have had an influence, after asking what happened to him. I would have loved to see that grow to full harvest. But it makes me a bit cautious. if Haoss (whom I consider to be one of the star growers here) couldn't prevent this, what chance have I? I'm waiting until the girls start asking for nutrients. They'll show me what they need in their own time. For now this soil is the shizzle (also quite literally) and Im happy with how everything is going. I remember much more hassle and steering in the last grow. This grow, even the Gorilla runt seems happy. I now water them 3 liters of water / Perma tea mixture every 4 days, every 3rd watering I don't do the tea. This makes for fewer gnats and this soil seems to hold water nicely, also due to the hydro corn. What I like is there is always some unforeseen circumstance, a tilt of the tables, some battle to be fought which delivers in big harvests or, in worst case, no harvest at all. It makes it more exciting, when your heart is at stake, we pour a lot of love and attention in the ladies. So with hopes, but not too high, we go into flowering. Both plants have almost stopped growing in heigth now and are in full flowering mode now. Barbarian (=AK-47 x Barbara Bud) Plant #1 is 15 cm shorter than plant #2, but a little bushier. Both have grown very well and are strong and healthy. They get more and more flower clusters now and start to fill up all branches. Trichomes start to appear all over...the plants start to get sticky and develop a weak sweet aroma now. Its time to take off the biggest fan leaves now for defoliation, I took a round of pics before and after.

It was getting quite hot in the tent, however after adding a fan just in 2 minutes temperature dropped to 27. Also now i realize LST was too early, some of the small leaves are damaged, however plant overall looks very healthy and strong. Added supporting structure with bamboo sticks for LST and used softer material for it. Plant looks quite even for now.

This was an explosive growth week, usually always is for me between week 3 & 4 is where I see the outcome of the early LST at week 3 which in most cases I doubt myself still to this day. If you look at day 15 she looks like she’s been through some weird transformation. Now here we are exactly the outcome I was expecting. By the formation and structure of this beauty, I can already say she will be a beast. I’ve now LST all other tops and will ensure to keep an even canopy with regards to height and remove foliage that inhibits lower sites from receiving adequate lighting. I prefer having 80% top tier AAA grade cannabis by using this technic (will requires lollipopping and removing lower nods in 2 weeks time) then having bigger yields but more popcorn buds, less density etc. Week 5 will see the introduction of Liquid Weight (natural sugars) to aid with the flower formation, essential carbohydrates the plant needs for good bud development. Pre-flowers have started but I will maintain Veg nutrients for now and switch the Bloom once the flowering is more prominent.

Sooo.... The last week was a bit of a pain in the ass. I flushed the plant on day 14 and just gave the plant plain water for the remainder of week 3 in flower. By about day 18 I started to notice that the leaves were getting a little yellow on the top of my mother plant. The LED lights were only 7 inches from the canopy! I hadn't been paying attention to how much the plant had grown and how close it was to the light. I raised the lights so they are 14 inches above the canopy. I thought that would make the color of the leaves return. However, her condition started to get worse. Several of the fan leaves on the top of the plant started to curl up and fold like tacos. I also noticed that some of the top fan leaves were getting copper colored tops and edges. some of the lower leaves under the canopy began to fall off with severe deformities and grey patches. Some research into the matter led me to believe that I had nutrient deficiencies. I knew that I had not fed her nutes in almost a week but I don't think that would lead to the plant's current condition as quickly as it did. I then tested the Ph runoff from the pot and it was incredibly acidic! Almost 5.0! My crap Ph pen had crapped out and was giving erroneous readings. I have since flushed the plant again and properly Ph'd the water. Now I have to wait and see if her condition improves. I hope this doesn't affect the yield too much. Pro Tip: Always calibrate your meters before use!
