Week 8 Veg – Go Big or Go Home! 🌱💪 Hey, Grow Fam! 🌿 What an intense week it’s been in the grow room! This was one of those “go big or go home” moments, and I decided to take it to the extreme. I’m holding off on flipping to flower for just one more week because the plants are filling up the space beautifully—I can’t help but push things to their limits and see just how much these ladies can give! 😎✨ This week was all about maximizing growth and creating the best canopy I can. I did a light defoliation, just here and there to open things up a bit, and then came the bending—LOTS of bending. 🌱 I’m working hard to create an even canopy, though with all these different genetics, we’ll see how close I get! 🤞 Regardless, I’m giving it my all, and I’m super pumped to see how everything will respond in the next stage. The final touch this week? I ended it with a bold 36 hours of darkness to prepare for the big flip next week—flower mode, here we come! 🌸 What Went Down This Week: 1. Canopy Work – Bending and training all over the place to try and keep things even. It’s a real challenge with different genetics, but the payoff is going to be worth it! 2. Defoliation – Just a little bit of leaf removal here and there to help with airflow and light penetration, prepping them for that final veg stretch. 3. 36 Hours of Darkness – Closed out the week with a full day and a half of darkness. The 36 hours of darkness is a technique I like to use to help signal to the plants that it’s time to transition from veg to flower. 🌒 By giving them an extended dark period, I’m mimicking the natural shift from summer to fall, when daylight hours start to shorten. This kick-starts the plants’ flowering hormones (phytochrome), helping them shift into flower mode more smoothly and quickly. In my experience, this method helps speed up the flip, reduces early flowering stress, and often leads to a more uniform bloom across the canopy. It’s like giving the plants a little nudge to let them know, “Hey, it’s time to bloom!” 🌸 This technique is especially useful for growers like me who want to maximize the efficiency and performance of their plants. 😊 4. Gave them a final trim. At the end if this week they are finishing day 38 for nine of them and day 70 for the one. Trichomes are starting to turn but not on every bud yet.

Final days as a big storm is coming I will harvest a bit early but most of the trichomes are cloudy smells absolutely amazing.

🌿 Lava Cake – Week 5 (First Week Flower) | Pre-Bloom & Heat Talk 🌿 The Lava Cakes have officially stepped into their flowering tent… though, to be fair, they’re still enjoying a little extra veg time before showing pistils. Both phenos are healthy, lush, and stretching beautifully, clearly ready for the show ahead. ⸻ 📸 Photo Studio Glam We took them out for another studio shoot, bright lights, clean background, and every angle showing off their deep greens and perfect branching. Soon, their beauty will be dressed in flowers, but for now, the leaf structure alone is worthy of the spotlight. ⸻ 🌡️ Current Conditions • Room Temp: 31°C • Humidity: 50.3% • VPD: 2.23 kPa • PPFD: 766 µmol/m²/s • Soil EC: ~2.0 • Soil Temp: 25.6°C Yes, the temperature is running hot — AC unit is on the way to lock it back into our ideal zone. ⸻ 💬 Heat in the Grow Room – Risks & Benefits Potential Risks: • Faster substrate drying = more frequent irrigation needed • Higher transpiration rates can stress plants if roots can’t keep up • Slightly increased risk of light stress at high PPFD without proper cooling • Possible reduced terpene retention if sustained into late flower Possible Benefits (short term in veg/pre-flower): • Accelerated metabolism — plants grow and stretch faster • Increased water/nutrient uptake (if well-fed and watered on time) • Can improve CO₂ usage efficiency if levels are high enough Bottom line: As long as they’re hydrated, fed, and ventilated, short bursts of high temp are manageable. But for flowering, we want to keep daytime temps closer to 24–28°C for optimal quality. ⸻ 💧 Watering Strategy We water when the soil dries to about 25% moisture remaining, this encourages: • Stronger root growth searching for water • Better oxygenation of the root zone • Less risk of root rot in warm temps Right now: They’re drinking daily due to the heat, so we’re feeding daily as well. ⸻ Current Feeding (per L of water) • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml • Aptus All-in-One Liquid – 1 ml • Aptus Top Booster – 0.25 ml With the increased drinking rate, nutrient uptake has increased — meaning no signs of deficiency, just steady lush green. ⸻ 🚀 Looking Ahead • AC installation will stabilize temps, allowing tighter VPD control • First signs of pistils should appear within the next 7–10 days • We’ll begin adjusting feed ratios for early bloom once flowers set • Light intensity will climb further as stretch continues ⸻ 💚 Closing Note: This week is all about momentum, heat or no heat, the Lava Cakes are pushing upward, prepping themselves for a heavy flower load. The banner is so thick with leaves its insane. Find myself endlessly defoliating her. She isn't as wide as the skittles but she still has a load of potential tops. I'm going to start nutrients again and aim to flip her to flower in a week.

Watering every day. Tucking leaves and tying down whenever I’m in the tent. Removing large fan leaves blocking prime bud sites. Looking good.

03/18/24. Entering week 4 wow. Times flying. Nothing really interesting to update on. #2 is driving me crazy. It seems like she’s always getting upset about something. When I think I figured her out.. she’s like nah, here’s some other strange leaf issues. The other 2 seem perfectly fine. Im thinking now maybe from me cutting back on food before because she seemed over fed-now she’s too hungry. Her leaves seem a bit pale in certain areas now with tiny reddish coloring on edges. Aside from that it seems like she’s still doing her flower thing. All 3 seem frosty and the leaves are sticky and smelly lol. Going to feed #2 a bit heavier than the others for now. Forgot on post earlier to say- Light at 18 above at 75%

I'm regretting not removing all of the vertical growing nodes on the mainline now as it's a bit messy and some of the lower budsites won't get enough direct light to produce decent buds. At the time I was very cautious about removing any growth at all as I was worried I would further shock the plant! Seems okay now anyway, and I think it's pretty funny that I managed to turn a fastberry into a slowberry.. How long do we think until harvest now? Peace Donny

Damnnnn this was so nice im going to grow it twice 😂 Day 1-26/04/22 I’ve placed 22 of the 25 seeds in glass of water for 24hours!!!!! - Day 2-27/04/22 seed been placed on wet paper towel!!!! - Day 3-28/04/22 most of them have popped gonna start putting them in soil today and tomorrow. - Day 6-01/05/22 nearly all of them have popped out the soil 20 of the 22 so hopefully the other two are out by tomorrow!!! - Day 7-02/04/22 everything looking good will start giving them abit of root juice tomorrow 21 of the 22 are out. 1 is still behind we will see if ur comes out tomorrow!!!!

Another great healthy week

All 3 are nearing harvest. They are on nothing but ph water and the fade is getting amazing!! Daiquiri will be the first to harvest as her trichomes are nearly all cloudy. Daiquiri’s buds aren’t nearly as big as thee other two but she is the stickiest!!! Mazar has super dense nuts!! Ultimates nugs are gorgeous, dense sticky on the buds and amazing colas!!
