Back with this week's update on our mostly Indica 🔵🔵 BLUEBERRY cultivar bred by DUTCH PASSION SEEDS! I am trying a new format for the weekly summary portion of my diary. Let me know what ya'll think!
👃 AROMA: Her aroma is fairly strong for this stage of flower. Blueberry dankness all the way! I look forward to experiencing the evolution of her terpine profile. One of my favorite aspects of growing cannabis is how much these plants change from start to finish and how much variation is possible with this plant.
❇️ BUD STRUCTURE: She is stacking on big round mounds of calyxes and looks like she is going to have large dense buds!
🎨 Color: She is a lighter almost an olive shade of green, right now. Her bright white pistils have a distinctive yellow hue to them.
🌿 STEM, STRETCH, & INTERNODES: She stretched more than I had expected. She has thick stems and relatively tight internodal growth. She definitely looks Indica in her bud structure.
✂️ TRAINING/PRUNING: I have continued selective defoliation as needed to avoid crowding herself and her neighbors. I remove no more than 25% of foliage at any one time, and usually closer 10-15%. I space out defoliation with a minimum of 3 days between sessions, in most instances. There will be exceptions to that, but this is a good rule of thumb I try to adhere to. She has been trained to have 6 main shoots and I am using LST techniques to gently bend her stems to evenly fill her space without overcrowding.
❄️TRICHOMES/RESIN PRODUCTION: Her buds are already starting to sparkle amd glisten. It looks like she will be a good resin producer!
🚿 WATER/FEED: I have continued with a light bidiurnal misting of White Dutch Clover cover crop . This in conjunction with running lower temps (New AC) has seemed to have drastically increased feeding intervals. My plants are needing much less water than in previous runs. I typically give the whole SOG one feed per week with light watering of select individual cultivars as needed between feeds. I try my best to "read" my garden. The amount of water between feeds depends on how soon the next feed will be. I feed the garden as a whole and this run I have been generally spacing feeds out 5-7 days or until the the first plant shows beginning signs of wilt (slight droop of lower fan leaves).
📝 OBSERVATION/NOTES: She doesnt appear to have any signs of deficiency or toxicity. No indications of stress, disease, or pests.

The cultivar received approximately 1 gallon of solution. I mixed 17 gallons of solution for 17 plants. The solution is applied via wand sprayer powered by a submersible pump attached to a garden hose. Nutrients and additives are added to the reservoir in the order listed below and thoroughly mixed using a large plastic stir spoon. The reservoir is oxygenated by four 4 inch air stones.

The girl I only put about 3g soil in is taking off quickly. The other plant that I filled with more to the top is doing well also just not flowering as fast but stacking on growth quick. They seem to love when I give nutes but I always try to flush with water every time or 2 just to combat buildup. Appreciate any tips and happy growing 🤙🎄

5/28 It poured yesterday so i dodnt bring the girls outside. Seedlings are transplanted into gallon pots. Once the fill that they'll go in final homes. I brought the plants out on this overcast day to harden them off. They're under the cover of the barn though placed by the open door. I've been putting in some work. Once this rain stops I have a couple things to do on the cage then I'll put the bags in the spots I have mapped out and mix my soil and fill the bags. The next day I typically transplant and add the first layer of supports. I have more pictures but not enough time to download them.
5/29 wow this site sucks. I have already done and saved this shit but its not here. Good thing I copy and pasted from grow with Jane. Only thing that sucks is I can't upload videos. It's not working here anyway so.... Watered and used about 3 gaterade bottles total. I may have messed up and watered the event horizon to much. They seem to be getting rootbound. Plants are doing well though with the transition. They are still hardening off. Tomorrow I plan to position and fill the bags with soil and if able I'll transplant them in the next few days. I want to make sure they're hardened off. Low tonight is 49 but it's 50s after that so I should be good. I'm hoping this video will load. Very stressful to do this shit over and over.
5/30 Plants have spent all day in tje Cafe and are coming in for the night. I finished mixing soil and filling the grow bags. They are ready for transplant. Weather is looking good so if plants respond well to this mild weather they will be transplanted with first set of supports added either tomm or the next day. Depends on plants response today (so far they're doing great) on whether I transplant tomorrow or the day after. I am sore as hell. Pictures are having trouble uploading and I'm not even gonna try to upload the video I took.
5/31 Plants have been taking a few days of full sun and they're doing fine. I'm planning on transplanting this afternoon. I had to water today. I weighed the pots and some were in tje 1200's grams which is dry. I'll update as I work. I have some errands to run then I'm putting the girls in their final homes.
EDIT: WIND WAS RIDICULOUS! I TRANSPLANTED 3 OF THE HEALTJY GMO'S. WHEN I GOT BACK PLANTS WERE RIGHT SIDEWAYS FROM THE WIND. I WENT WITH INTUITION AND TRANSPLANTED 3 GMO'S. OTHER BAGS ARE READY. THE REST OF THE PLANTS WILL GO OUT TOMORROW MORNING. THE SMALL SUPPORTS I HAD DIDNT DO SHIT. I HAD TO ADD TOMATO CAGES AND TOE THE STALK TO THE TOMATO CAGE. SUCKS I COULDNT GET THEM ALL IN BUT BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY. TRANSPLANTS WENT REAL SMOOTH. KNOCK ON WOOD. I TJ8NK THE OTHERS WILL TOO. THEY'RE READY FOR A NEW
6/1 Finished transplanting everything. Easiest transplant I've had so far. 4 gmo 1 toasted toffy 1 sherb pie and 2 event horizon. Everything is in 20 gal smart pots. One gmo is in a 30 gal smart pot. The medium is 1/3 of each roots organic 707, fox farm happy frog and fox farm ocean forest. Used mykos when transplanting. Wind gusts were coming from everywhere direction so I couldn't put a tarp up to block it. I bought "grow cages" which are kind of like tomato cages. The wind is so strong it blows the plants right against the cage. Oh well. I hope it works out. I'll check on them a little later and see how they're doing.
6/2 It was 45 degrees this morning. Nice out now. Plants are doing good. A couple gmos are drooping but it was cold. One gmo looked as good as ever! Sherb pie and toasted toffy are totally unaffected. In this new area plants get a lot of direct sun. Slight tacking on the gmos in the front. The event horizons really needed that transplant. Grow cages seem to be working out well.
6/3 I Watered the garden this morning as its been 75-80 out. I only used a gallon of water for the 8 clones. I'm not sure if I watered enough when I transplanted or not. Some plants have some burns from the intense direct sunlight. Plants could've used a bit more hardening but they'll be fine. A few of them seem great and have no real signs of stress dispute 25mph wind gusts and 15 mph constant wind and this hot sun. I should go check on my plants again this evening but I figure they'll be alright until morning. I've had an incredibly busy day and they were fine at noontime. I'm going to consult my other diaries and see what I did watering volume wise. I've for some videos but they take FOREVER to upload.
EDIT: Looked at last year's diary and it was rainy as fuck and I took way more time hardening the plants. I've had more going on in life which has effected that. Went over at 3pm and gave the plants 3 more gallons of water. Bags were light and soil was dry af. Granted I added soil after it settled but still. I watered one gallon this morning so I figured 3 more gallons would make it a half gallon a plant. Planning to increase to a gallon each if they do OK. Its supposed to thunder storm tomorrow so hipfully we will get some rain. I removed one leaf that was bleached but there are a few others. The weather is beautiful but we've gotten zero rain. In hindsight perhaps I should've given the plants an extra gallon at least.

🌿 Week 11: Frosty Heights & Real Talk (Flower Week 6)
First off, apologies for the slight delay! Usually, I drop these updates on Monday, but I was out celebrating my 25th birthday yesterday and, well... let’s just say things got a little out of control, haha!
But I'm back in the tent now, and the girls didn't seem to mind the extra day of peace.
Welcome to Week 11. We are deep in the flowering phase (Week 6), and the tent is looking like a winter wonderland. But let’s keep it real – while the frost is insane, it hasn't been a "perfect" run since it’s my first experience with living soil. Here’s the honest breakdown.
🛠️ The Big Defoliation & Adjustments
The canopy got so thick that I had to perform one last major defoliation. I removed a significant amount of the large fan leaves that were shading the lower bud sites. It’s always a tough call this late in the game, but it was absolutely necessary to get that light penetration down to the secondary colas and improve RH.
Combined with raising the entire tent to save the tops from light stress, the environment is now much more balanced. If you look closely at some of the upper leaves, you can still see a bit of "tacoing" (curling edges) from the previous light intensity and buds on the top of the sweet spot are not very well bulked because of heat stress by light. I caught it likely and the "scars" remained.
🌱 Organic Struggles & Success
The "Autumn Fade" is hitting harder than I expected. The remaining fan leaves are yellowing quite aggressively. In living soil, this usually means the nitrogen is running low what I read as the plant focuses everything on the buds. I’m letting nature take its course, but I’ll keep an eye on it to make sure they have enough gas to reach the finish line.
• The Scrog Management: My canopy isn't perfectly level. I have a few "underdogs" getting shadowed by the main colas even after the defoliation. It’s a lesson for next time – I need to be even more aggressive with LST early on to keep everything in one uniform plane.
📊 Stats & Environment:
• Genetics: Banana Purple Punch Auto (FastBuds)
• Status: Bulking phase.
• RH: Dropped to 45%-40% – absolutely critical now to prevent any bud rot in these dense clusters.
• Temp: 22-26°C.
• Aroma: A heavy mix of tropical fruit sweets and gassy undertones.
It’s not a catalog grow, it’s a real grow. The "girls" are finishing strong despite the big hiccups.

Really happy with how she’s turning out with massive bulking in this last stretch! GC is an amazing strain that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for something very unique! Flushes are all done and we have about a week or two left, trichomes are all still very clear under the microscope want to wait for some borderline ambering before I chop her.

I did a defoilation this week to expose budsites and direct energy towards colas that have more potential for better buds. Everything is actually going much better than expected now she stretched so much.

really easy to grow. Had some issues in the begging being underfed and low ph issues. But still grew through all the struggles. Wasnt the biggest yield but wasn't the biggest plant. So wasn't expecting truly much. The purple pheno gave me a zip and half about. The other green one gave me a zip dry. Both smell lovely and can't wait. Will come back next week or so to update smoke report. Also fixing to make cannabutter from some of this can not wait ^_^ . Will grow it again but in a bigger pot maybe.

~ FastBuds PAPAYA SHERBET Photoperiod~
Well here we go on another journey together through 'Canna-land' and this one's kinda special... forget that, it's VERY special because this is FastBuds newest surprise for the community, a FEMINIZED PHOTOPERIOD STRAIN!🤯
I was fortunate enough to score these seeds, of which only 1000 were available and can't wait to see what this strain can do! This Papaya Sherbet, according to FastBuds, is a hybrid with a 9-10 weeks flowering period. For a more detailed and accurate description of this strain the following from FastBuds says it best:

The Setup:
This is going to be an outdoor grow, but I have started the Papaya Sherbet photoperiod indoors as our weather is still a bit too chilly to put a newly sprouted seedling outside (nighttime temp's dipping regularly into the 40's℉).
The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures are in the mid 50's℉, which shouldn't be long. After which, she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes from BioTabs and slow release dry amendments from Gaia Green. Once she's established herself outside she'll be given periodic top dressings of Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 along with worm castings and Compost Tea's. Her grow area is approx. 5'x5' and I have posts and a trellis net set up already for when she gets bigger to aid in training her. Let the fun begin!🤪💚

Weekly Updates:
8/11- Here we go into the FIRST WEEK of flower for the FastBuds Papaya Sherbet photoperiod! She finally finished her preflower stretch, ending up at a nosebleed height of 90" tall! It was such a great sight to look at her yesterday and see little flowers beginning to form. She's going to be a beautiful plant!
8/13- Our weather has cooled off after last weeks tropical system passed and it's nice to have a much needed break from the heat and humidity!
I am continuing to water daily with 5-8 gallons of well water from the garden hose. I also went ahead and removed two small branches that were at the very bottom of the Papaya Sherbet that would only take away nutrients from more beneficial areas of the plant.
8/15- Today, I top dressed the Papaya Sherbet with 3 cups of Gaia Green 2-8-4 Power Bloom which I watered in with well water from the hose. I then applied 1/2 gallon of a nutrient mix I made up in 2 1/2g of well water consisting of: 1/4 cup Neptune's Harvest Seaweed(kelp) plant food and 2 1/2 tsp. of Plantonics Amino Bliss.
8/17- There goes the first full week of flower for this incredibly stunning Papaya Sherbet photoperiod from FastBuds and I can not wait to see her transformation as this lady progresses through flowering!

Ok guys so she was bushy again and so we did defoliation again.
You can see the difference and then after that started flowering even more
Plus the fact we are increasing the amount of molasses added to the soil plus the floranova bloom nutes.
They are very thirsty girls, taking around 1.5-2lts per 48 hrs
So almost like a 1 liter per 24 hrs
Very good SoG to make them feel even more comfortable
Going to change schedule from 24/0 to 19/5 and see if they evolve!
Thinking about adding some humus to the soil as well, other than that they have been under good conditions
Temp is steady at day time around 24C top and night time is 18-19C minimum
RH around 45-60%
Mostly 45% control environment with AC
Cant wait to see big colas coming soon!

Buds are getting more dense and picking up their trichomes nicely, only issues have been temp swings from 87F-72F and RH from 32-45, adjusting the setup to have smaller ranges

For this grow I've used,
For the growth

20 Hours On, 4 hours off light
For the soil I've used plagron light mix + batmix in the down
For the blooming
1 Mars Hydro FC300 (300W)@75%
2 fan 15w
Extractor + Filter 150mm
1 Mammoth lite 60 box
1 timer
11l pot

After harvest,
I've put the stuff in a room with 1 fan 15w
