Day 43 : Watering with co2 tab / 5L. Also added food again because i think they need it. Increased ppm to 850. Maybe the next one will be pure water. Ventilation works all the time when lights are on. Temp and humi are stable and this is good for the girls. she still grows. Patience is the key always. Also removed some burned leaves from all ladies. Edit (Day 47) : Watering with co2 tab every 5L. I watered with juices again at 850ppm because i felt that they need it. Only DsD drank pure water because of burns. All ladies enjoy this bright sun for sure. I have a very good combination of sprectrums. Cree cobs are in 3000k and HPS at 2000k.

Have got the soil good ph i am pretty sure. I have got good growth out of the last week and few inches and some fan leafs and they look just barley burned and they are way happy standing up so I am thinking (fingers crossed) that I have got it under control. Going to do a trim and take some clones in the next week. Then a train for a couple weeks and put her in in flower tent get used to that light and flower her see what I get. Still just doing declorinated water at 6.5 let the soil do her job. LOVE

October 1 > Harvest morning. New trick... get up before dawn... cut your plant down and hang her upside down... then go back to bed. Hehe... I like this retirement stuff. We get smarter as we age. šŸ˜Ž I did a fair job of plucking fan leaves before harvest morning so there wasn't that much work for me to do anyway on this girl compared to some of the other monsters she grew up with. Took me only about 90 minutes to complete my normal processing and washing. She developed into a wonderful purple color at the end there. The unique feature of this grow for me was that I never topped this girl. Subsequently she developed a huge single top cola that grew about a foot taller than the rest of the plant. Served as a demonstration of why we top plants in general. Hard for me to imagine what a bunch of these in the wild looks like but this is what WILD looks like. Diary note > I'll come back later and add weights and things. I threw in a weight of 100 grams as a marker to appease the gods. Total guess. ======================================================================== October 7 > Guess I underestimated my yield a tad... love when that happens. 😁 Ended up coming in at 212 grams buds and 181 grams trim. Woohoo. Another growing season officially comes to a close today. šŸ‘ŒāœŠ Initially I wasn't sure I wanted to use the Trimbag on this baby... because she was my last plant to harvest this year and I had plenty of time to hand trim her... and I harbored various possibly incorrect assumptions about the Trimbag originally which I have now shed. More on that later. Let me lay out my personal Trimbag history here as a learning experience for the community... ======================================================================== Originally I won this tool as part of my September 2018 diary winnings... and I looked at it strictly as a tool for fairly large scale growers.. of which I did not consider myself at that time. I grew an amazingingly oversized Durban Poison for a 5 gallon pot and I got lucky I thought. ... Then I took a look at how much herb I processed this summer and I said THANK YOU Trimbag! It saved me more than enough hours of hand trimming to demonstrate it’s usefulness. (October 12) >> Already slowing down in post-harvest mode hehe... so it looks like I did the same thing as last year diary-wise. Now I have another Trimbag on my hands but all I need is another magnet actually (hehe)... the zippers show no signs of sticking up at this point after me throwing about 2-3 pounds of herb threw the mill, and the overall bag has only lightly been used at this point IMHO. I'm a little surprised I lost that magnet and it's not a great sign for the longevity of the embroidery - so to speak, but other than that it's solid construction. And simple. I’ll be contacting Trimbag to see if I can acquire a new magnet and we’ll see how that goes. Back to my expectations... I only used this device on stuff I grew outdoors... of which I had enough... more than twice what I grew last summer - but that was by design. If I was to set out a general rule… I would say that I expect the weight of buds to be roughly equal to the weight of trim. This is AFTER I have thrown away any fan leaves plucked on the morning of harvest which are not saved as trim. I stop plucking when buds start to get ripped up if I don’t. Round 1 >> The first go was the early Amnesia 7 batch (Little Girl flowered early), and honestly, I was unimpressed. I looked at it as maybe I didn't let it dry long enough. I have a ritual of washing all my outdoor grown herb which has generally tended to cause things to dry a tad quicker than what one would expect in the field. I walked away from this initial experience like boy I hope I screwed that up and it works better on round 2. Round 2 >> Cream & Cheese CBD ... I think this girl did more to confuse me than anything else. The buds were not oversized but she seemed to take forever to dry. Part of this is probably attributable to excess humidity in the first few days - a weird week - we actually had some rain which is very unusual. But even after a week of drying I only managed 63g of shake on this batch (via the Trimbag). I'm going WTF? Ahem.... I ended up with 269 grams of buds for my Cream & Cheese. After that 63 g shake by bag I added 165 g trim by hand... and I was seriously wondering why this bag thang existed. Turns out C&C was not a good example.... so don't let the bad things weigh you down. Round 3 >> Next came Northern Lights - and my attitude changed completely. I harvested 319g buds, but the initial run with Trimbag generated 144g trim which I followed with 186g hand trim. NL had very dense buds and large internodal spacing which made trimming EZ. She was a monster… but at the same time I had her trimmed in under 4 hours. Of all the beasties I grew outdoors this summer, this was the largest yield for a single plant - but trimming her was a relative breeze, and it felt like it. I thought I hit the sweet spot for maybe how dry the herb needed to be for the product to work well… but probably only partially correct. Plant structure is significant. Round 4 >> Next came round 2 with Amnesia. As I noted in my diary I knew I was going to end up with a pound of herb on this particular strain so I tried to beat this particular batch up to minimize my hand trimming and see what the effect was. The end result of this was that I generated a smaller amount of buds from the larger sized pot (Little Girl was in a 10 gallon container and generated 235g buds/ 360g trim and Big Girl was in a 15 gallon container that generated 223g buds/ 493g trim). Round 5 >> Next came where we’re at in this here diary…Purple Berry Kush. Now originally I wasn’t sure I wanted to run this baby thru the mill. I THOUGHT that maybe because I hadn’t topped this girl and I didn’t put her in a pot bigger than 7 gallons which put her at a direct disadvantage vs my other outdoor girls that the yield would be substantially smaller, but I’ll be damned she ended up with 212g buds. Very satisfied there… and this stuff smells great when I let her get some air. The key here on trimming for this round was twofold. I let the buds dry longer than I normally would have by a few days… because I had nothing pushing me to make space for reason A… and because stuff was intervening for reason B… golf tournament… Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in SF (Robert Plant was awesome - we share the same birthday and he was 71 in August - I can only hope I’m still rockin’ that hard in 9 years)…you know - stuff. PBK ended up working out the best of all. 212g buds vs 181g trim. That’s the ONLY variant that ended up with more buds than trim. Part of that was how easy PBK was to maintain. I only did ONE major pruning of internal growth - probably later than I should have - I was trying hard to let her grow as wild as possible. But she was very easy to prune fan leaves off when that purple time came. It’s seems clear at this point that indica’s are easier to trim than sativa’s with a Trimbag…. but I’m not sure that’s going to be a revelation to anyone. As far as I’m concerned, anything that grows with an inter-nodal spacing that allows you to neatly separate your buds will work better with the Trimbag. DRY is a necessary ingredient for using this device. Probably drier than I am accustomed to… but that’s why somebody invented Boveda packs right? Anyway… I’m a VERY SATISFIED Trimbag customer at this point. It takes a little work to determine how dry your herb needs to be but even if you have to experiment, the number of hours you save from hand trimming will eventually make it worth your while… and as a newly minted senior citizen I can say that while my time might be free - anything that helps reduce pain - including time spent trimming - becomes quite significant. NOW —> The other side of this coin is that I will probably NOT use the Trimbag when I get back to indoor growing in early December… because I expect to be growing much smaller plants. Most of the things I’ve grown indoors top out at less than a couple ounces so it’s not clear to me that Trimbag is necessary with a yield that small… but I can test that theory later this winter. ================================================= hehe… I kinda promised myself ā€œno more winter cropsā€ after last summers bounty but I found that making edibles consumes a significant quantity of herb, and I really like my brownies. So now that I’ve stocked up to solve that problem, I plan to get back to some indoor growing (because growing is FUN)… mainly autoflowers. I actually have better control of temperature for things that I grow in winter as opposed to summer… but I have to add the heat to make that happen. That compares with the difficulty of adequate cooling if I run my lights during daytime in summer - even with night lights summer temps can be a problem with no AC. I don’t have AC in my house. It’s a function of California microclimates. If I lived 15 miles east of here - we’d BAKE with no AC (air conditioning). If it weren’t for coastal fog - this whole place would be a desert. With climate change - we’re heading that way even WITH the fog. We roll the dice here every winter and hope we get enough snow in the Sierra to hold off the firestorms that will come in the fall. We went thru a period of ā€œdroughtā€ here in California a relatively short while back but even though we are officially out of our drought phase the fall firestorm intensity seems to be getting worse every year. But this is a clear sign I’ve consumed too much indica for one evening and I’m starting to lose track of.... just about everything. Anyhow… I think I’m about diaried out for this year. I have a pretty freaking serious vacation planned to celebrate my retirement for late next month… Las Vegas golf > Joshua Tree National Park camping > Palm Desert resort golf > Beach camping South Carlsbad > Torrey Pines golf > Laguna Beach > Pismo Beach camping > Monterey. It’s been about 30 years since I did anything this crazy (and that was a Grateful Dead tour in 1987 thru Arizona/Utah/California for my 30th birthday). Big difference this time around? Cannabis is LEGAL for the entire trip. I will be well stocked enough to sedate anything that gets near me. See y’all in December. šŸ˜Ž

🌸 Week 7 – Flower Stage: When Trouble Knocks, We Learn Grower: Dog Doctor Strain: Super Silver Haze Breeder: Zamnesia Seeds Light: Future of Grow Black Series 600W & ThinkGrow ICL-300 Environment: 8x8 Shared Tent – Controlled by TrolMaster System Temp: 29.4°C (day) / 25.6°C (night) Humidity: 64–68% COā‚‚: ~720 ppm Soil Temp: 24.8°C Watering: Manual (Hand Watering) Water Mix (per L): • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml • Aptus All-In-One Liquid – 1 ml • Plagron Power Buds – 1 ml • Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml • Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml āø» 🌿 The Week the Storm Passed Through This week brought a little challenge to the garden — bud rot made an appearance. It’s never a welcome guest, but it’s part of the growing journey, and it teaches you more than any perfect run ever could. It started small: a couple of darker spots noticed deep inside one of the colas. Upon closer inspection, we confirmed it — Botrytis cinerea, or as growers call it, bud rot. Thankfully, it was localized and quickly handled, removing all affected material carefully to avoid spreading spores. Despite how dramatic macro photos can make it look, the loss was minimal. The rest of the canopy remains healthy, strong, and radiant under the LEDs. The girls keep thriving like the true champions they are. āø» 🧠 Educational Spotlight – What Is Bud Rot (and What It Isn’t) Bud rot is a fungal infection caused by Botrytis cinerea. It thrives in warm, humid, stagnant environments — the kind of microclimate that can form in thick buds during late flower. It usually begins inside the bud, invisible at first, and works its way outward, leaving behind a grayish-brown, dusty rot that can ruin entire flowers if unnoticed. Early warning signs: • Brown or gray fuzz inside the cola • Dry, dead sugar leaves sticking out of healthy buds • A musty or ā€œold hayā€ smell Prevention is everything: šŸŒ¬ļø Keep strong airflow through and between plants šŸ’Ø Maintain active extraction and oscillating fans šŸŒ”ļø Lower humidity to 50% or below during late flower šŸŒ— Avoid large night/day temperature swings āœ‚ļø Remove excess inner foliage (selective defoliation) For a deep dive into identifying, preventing, and treating bud rot, check out Zamnesia’s excellent guide: šŸ”— Zamnesia – Bud Rot: The Cannabis Grower’s Guide - https://www.zamnesia.com/grow-weed/563-bud-rot-cannabis-grower-guide āø» šŸ’¬ Reflection – The Grower’s Responsibility Let’s be honest — this one’s on me. It’s a new setup, and with every new tent comes a new rhythm to learn. The temperatures are still higher than I’d like, and humidity sometimes pushes the edge. But that’s what growing is — progress through imperfection. The key is to act fast, learn faster, and never let one small setback derail the entire grow. The good news: both Super Silver Haze phenos continue to look absolutely stunning — symmetrical, resilient, and full of that legendary vigor that made this strain an icon. āø» 🌸 What to Expect Next As we move into Week 8, we’ll be: • Reducing humidity and increasing airflow • Keeping close watch on moisture and leaf density • Fine-tuning the TrolMaster environment controls • Allowing buds to fatten, harden, and mature into their final form We’re entering the critical ripening phase, where patience and precision make all the difference. āø» 🌾 Grower-to-Grower Corner – Preventing Bud Rot Since every grower faces this risk sooner or later, here are a few small habits that make a massive difference: 1. Prune with intent: Create small ā€œair highwaysā€ between branches so moisture can escape. 2. Nighttime is key: Rot thrives in cool, humid nights. Keep fans on and air moving even when lights are off. 3. Monitor VPD: Around 1.2–1.4 kPa is ideal for mid-late flower; beyond 1.6 increases risk. 4. Inspect daily: Use your eyes and your nose — the first clue is often a smell, not a sight. 5. Clean the space: Mold spores can live in your tent, filters, and even fans. Sanitize between runs. Remember: Bud rot doesn’t mean failure; it means evolution. Every grow that survives it creates a smarter grower. āø» šŸ’š Closing Thoughts This week was a humbling reminder that even under the best light, nature still has the final say. But she also rewards those who pay attention, act fast, and grow with love. The Super Silver Haze continues to honor her legacy — strong, aromatic, and beautifully structured. 12/11Might be a day early but I'm calling it the start of a new week. The ladies have been looking super unhappy last couple days determined they were root bound so got em put into their final home this morning. Chop and dropped cover crop put thin layer of mixture of BAD worm castings and Coast of Maine lobster compost and watered in with goodies. Set the ppfd to 300 and vpd closer to 1.0 12/13 everyone is looking happier but a bit hungry mixed up light foliar mainly for one girl but gave it to all of em. Inoculated the bed with BB+, Gnarly barley, and Kashi Gold, put down straw layer and watered in some wdg3000. 12/16 top dressed around each plant with craft blend and ocean blend and a mixture of castings and compost. Then watered in a quart each with all the goodies

05:18:21 She started her diet of water only, I will just give her water till the start of week 8, she’s on week 7 day 2 right now. Each day she’s been just beefing up all over the place! I never checked the tri’s today I will save that for week 8. I am noticing some colour coming out of the fans but that could be some light bleaching. I am leaving her to just do her thing till I see amber! Then a 12 day flush and harvest. 05:19:21 Getting fatter everyday!!! So close now!!! 05:21:21 All I have to say is 😳 Wow I am glad I cloned her!! I can’t wait to see how she does out doors!!! I have to say if you are looking for a plant that legit finishes in 7 weeks this damn this is a fine strain for that...... again...... WOW

Another week down. As some of you will see, from the three purple kush autos one defiantly has the characteristics of a ā€œpurple kush plantā€ it is very small with odd shaped buds and almost purpley/black. The other two are monsters with no purple traits. I did loose a plant at the start that was also stunted, which likely would have produced another ā€œpurple buddedā€ plant. Anyway it has been hotter than hell here, and they pretty much survived a hurricane and tornado, so I think these girls will finish out the summer just nice. I gave them a feed of some cal mag and some fox farms tiger bloom. Other than that they be chillin. Enjoy the weather! Cheers.

Growing it was quite a journey. Since I had a lot of changes in my life, I couldn't take the time I wanted to make a good diary, but I still managed to take some pictures. I had some problems since I changed the size of my pots and didn't use LST. One plant grew so tall that it went above the LED, and other plants were too close to the LED. Using three 20L pots in a 60cm x 60cm space was too much; they didn't have enough room. For the next grow, I'll use only two pots and employ SCROG and LST

Northern lights is perking up, I think I'm done rearranging her... For now. Not too much to report, future bud sites are lightening up a bit which gives me hope. Lemon auto is still doing it's thing, I think she's going to have a decent yield! It appears my cat is equally interested in this grow. She loves a good fan leaf 12/31: Rotated LA 180 degrees so that side could get a little light. Probably should have done this a bit earlier, considering the current space situation... My bad. It also appears NL is trying to spread out a bit more. It's definitely a 2 plant tent. I'm growing impatient since I just got more seeds in the mail! 1/2: Northern lights is looking like she maybe wants to really start doing something about flowering.. .still unsure if she's just slow growing or if I stunted her since I keep defoliating. Probably both. 1/4: NL clearly showing some sort of stress. Possibly light related? Gave a good flush today in case of pH issues. Will continue to monitor and adjust nutrients prn.

04/09 - Started minor defoliation. Shes getting too bushy and blocking bud sites and causing moisture spots. Will remove a couple of leaves every other day for the next week. 05/09 - Full res change. Realised I mucked up the ratio. Went 35ml Micro, 25ml grow, (Shouldve been the other way around, so added an extra 10ml grow), 15ml Bloom and 15ml Silica. EC 1.4, PH 5.7. Will keep an eye on her and add some additional grow if she does alright. 06/09 - Minor defoliation. Removed about 12 leaves total so far. LST to spread the canopy a little more. PH stable at 5.8, EC at 1.4, Water level dropping. Seems to be stretching and pistils have begun to form! Responding well to the uptick in nutes from the res change. 07/09 - Leaf tucking, LST and took a leaf or two. Shes getting her stretch on for sure. PH stable at 5.8, EC stable at 1.4. Water level still dropping. 09/09 - After much deliberation, I ended up going for a fairly heavy defoliation session and am now going to leave her the hell alone until at least mid flower. I removed a large chunk of shaded leaves and bud sites and effectively ended up lollipopping her. I also removed all the old LST, and added a couple to pull leaves out of the way. The canopy remains largely unchanged, but shes much more airy now, and Im seeing far fewer damp spots where leaf perspiration has occured. Now to see if I can keep my hands off for a few weeks!

Ok just finnished a blunt of this a out an hour ago, and I do not smoke blunts lol But it seems only right too do a real smoked reveiw , So the fbt7 has been dry now for about 2 weeks and in a jar and today was the day too take the first bud too try so I rolled a fat one " fat one in photos lol , So for me the flavour just isn't there yet and am hoping that will come after a cure , So I smoked this all too my self and qiukly , Within a few minutes I went white as a ghost as was twitching the the corner hehehe, This is very strong bud and I would go as far as saying it's probably the strongest bud I've had in years , I am what I would describe as a joker smoker , as I turn my bud into oils and do not smoke it , But any serious cannabis smoker will absolutely love this strain , Well done fast buds and thank you :)

Total tent entry time this entire week was 15 minutes. Today was focused on recording data mainly. I'm giving them a weekend off before full schwazze, top dress, & flip next week. Tucked any fan leaves blocking growth sites. Worked 1/4 cup Kiss My Frass, mealworm derived insect Frass, into straw mulch top layer of each container. Hand watered each plant with 1/2 gallon 6.5 ph 13 ppm reservoir water mixed with 1/2 tsp each of coconut water powder, Azos, & quillaja powder. Raised DLI to 35. I fully expect it to naturally raise to 40 as the plants expand vertically. Raised average VPD to 1.0 -Expression #1- Previous Week Height-5" Width-6"x9" Current Week Height-10" Width-18"x20" -Expression #2- Previous Week Height-4.5" Width-8"x7" Current Week Height-8.5" Width-15"x14"
