Grow report week 4: The training and the topping Hello dear growers and groweresses, it’s time for an update on my grow. My plants have completed the fourth week and have grown further. But they have also experienced some measures that I will tell you about. The training This week I continued the low-stress training (LST) and tied the plants further. The LST is a method to gently bend and tie the plants to improve the light distribution and air circulation. The goal is to keep the plants low and wide and promote more side shoots and flower heads. The topping In addition to the LST, I also applied the topping to make the plants even bushier. The topping is a method to cut off the top of the plant to interrupt the apical dominance and produce more main shoots. The goal is to branch the plant and produce more flowers. I performed the topping as follows: I watered the plants well to reduce the stress. I cut off the top of the plant above the third or fourth node to create two new shoots. I observed the plants and looked for signs of stress or shock. The topping also worked well and the plants recovered quickly. They formed two new main shoots that will later become large colas. They also put more energy into the side branches, which will also carry more flowers. The fertilization I also fertilized for the first time this week, although I actually wanted to start late with it. I used the Fish-Mix from BioBizz to give the plants more nitrogen. Fish-Mix is an organic liquid fertilizer that consists of fish parts from the North Sea and organic sugar beet extract. It stimulates the biological activity of the soil and the plant growth. The Fish-Mix did well for the plants and they showed more growth. They formed more leaves and shoots and became greener and healthier. They also absorbed more nitrogen and produced more proteins. The outlook I am very satisfied with the result of the fourth week. My plants have been well trained and topped and have shown great growth. I am very curious about the next week, where I have to activate my setup completely to give the plants their final place and pots. It will be exciting for me to see if my system works as I wished. I will continue to observe the plants and respond to their needs. I will adjust the light intensity, the fertilization and the training to achieve the best results. Let’s just say for what I got out of this plant, I’m extremely pleased. This plant was put through a lot of stress and never really skipped a beat. I stunted the growth early on in the seedling stage, I then decided mid veg state that I wanted to do coco coir instead of DWC bucket, which then slowed it down a few days, then during my first time doin any training to a plant I snapped the main node off slowing it down again. My cat then one day got into my tent when it was down while I went to use the restroom, and ended up digging out an entire side of the pots and roots. I truly thought this was the end of this plants life, I decided to just let it go and hopefully I could maybe get some small stuff to make some butter with or something. She bounced back from even the cat attack and produced something very great. All in all this was really fun to grow, she was resilient as hell and would love to try this strain again with no hiccups down the road in the near future. Well NO ONE on this site reached out to try and help and I was kind of disappointed in that with so many great artists. I had to take my issues over and join ILGM. The veins were dark on MOBY and yellowing from the middle and it turned out to be a potassium deficiency and a potential build up but I don’t have my new ppm meter to get the whole truth. I upped my Demeter’s destiny and my hurculean harvest and let it run off more than usual. This lady is out of lock out and reaching for the sky in one day with leaves coming back to color!!! Hopefully the stall didn’t set me too far back. Going to switch away from the HLG 60 and mars 300 and put them under a brand new HLG 550 v2 this weekend in the main tent!

Plant at the front #3 has had slowed growth but buds are filling out pretty well now, pretty sure she is a Orange sherbet. Back 2 are on week 3 day 17!!! & Are going Awesome, buds stacking up & down every branch! Going to get some really good Cola's of them! They are loving the 730watts!’ of light, back left plant looks like a Tropicana Cookies, going to do some defoliation on her & tie branches down a bit to open up middle of plant to allow more light & air to lower bud sites.

Oct.29 - We transplanted the girls into soil since they are moving into vegetation phase Nov.4 - Watered each plant 250mL, 0.25mL of each nutrient for each girl

3/23: The pistils on all three of these plants suddenly withered, and upon inspection, I see that they're almost ripe.👍 I let them go totally dry this time and fed them with about 3/4 gallon each including terpinator, signal, sweet & sticky, cal-mag, armor si, cha ching, tiger bloom, big bloom, and humic acid. This was probably the last time they'll get any nutes, but I may water them once more with sweet & sticky and terpinator. 3/27: I mixed up water with sweeteners and terpene enhancers and cal-mag, then pulled everybody out of the closet...lo and behold, all 3 of these plants were ready to flush! I can't find my 20x macro lens for my phone, so I'm using my mini-microscope until I can get another mobile device lens kit from Amazon. All three had about 80% cloudy and 10% amber trichs. so I put about 12 gallons of filtered water with Sledgehammer through each one. Lovely buds, and many of them, but I sure hope they swell up some more!👈 3/29: I added a few more MicracleLED blue (450nm-470nm) bubs around the garden. topped raining for a day and my RH is back down to lower 40%'s. Shortie will go into a dark room tomorrow and her big sister will get fed.

Como es un cultivo s.o.g hice el transplante rápidamente el día 12, para dejar crear raices ya que se pasará a floración tempranamente por el día 20 a 25 de vegetación, se transplanto de 1 a 5 lts. El día 14 se hará 1° riego con fertilizante y el día 15 ya se hará riego foliar con estimulador de floración delta 9 para próximamente pasar a floración ✌️🍀💚

The girls are starting to get really heavy, we may be forced to cage the rest for support, we couldn't move them much this week for fear of them collapsing..not recognizing or stopping the runaway stretch soon enough has come back to bite us..lesson learned about this strain.. the canopy is terribly uneven lol, we're just kinda letting them do their own thing at this point, we did drop 1 of 2 lights to accommodate the shortest of the group. So this is the Tear Down week. The timing of it makes it so i will need to the harvest flag in a few days when I can weight and test the plants. I have included the Cleaning, and Cutting and some Root Porn. I will make the harvest post in about 4-5 days, when I can trim these plants. There is a lot of Plant here. I got way more than I was expecting. I don't have a scale that measure this amount of plant, without taking like 10 measurements and then adding them together. So I will just be posting the dry weight. I will post the wet weight as dry weight * 1.65. Autopots: Wow, what a great product. I have been blown away by how well and how easy it was to work with them. They really did solve the watering issues. Excellent product. If you are a beginner, start with Autopots. -= Lessons Learnt =- - Overdrive the air to your Autopots. In my control plant, I used a small rectangle air stone (instead of a standard air dome). This lead to root rot and some other issues, it also put significantly less air into the water. The root rot, give the material for the Brown Algae to grow. Using a huge Air-disc-Air-Stone would be an excellent combo to mix in with the air dome itself. Something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Pawfly-Diffuser-Suction-Hydroponics-Aquarium/dp/B01MY3AQ33 at the bottom and the air-dome on top of it, will be what I do with my next experiment. - Air stone in the reservoir. I had two instances where algae grew into the res. An air stone would have helped. It would have also helped my control plant get less root rot. Given the amount that the air-domes and air sources got engulfed, having the water have more o2 in it would have only been beneficial. - Don't grow 6 plants in a 4x4. Since my control plant was about 1/8th the size of the others, I think I could have grown 5 in the shape of a 5 (on a 6 sided dice)⚄ This placement would give a much more spaced canopy for airflow and more importantly light. The sides of some of the plants were lighter green and produced larf due to lack of light penetration. - This tent was on 19-5 schedule. This worked out very well for this strain. After every lights on, they were in the praying position, so this strain was able to recover in that 5hrs off. If I had more seeds, I would run these again, and try 20-4. I think this strain could handle it. All for all, I think I'm going to 19-5 as my default timing. This kept up a solid DLI. - Staring at .9EC (really .7 EC cause my water here is .2 EC) Then bumping up at .1 a week, until 1.6EC worked out VERY well. I experimented on this crop all the way up to 1.9EC, which burnt the tips of this plant. I think if I did this strain again, I would do 1.6EC until 3-4 weeks left then crank it to 1.9. It did plump them up when I went to 1.9, however it left them looking rough. Bulk was added though. - Sticking to 6.0PH for all of veg, and 2 weeks into flower worked great. The plant had solid and consistent color and leaf shape . The plant's did get hurt, due to some issues (as noted on the weeks). I switched to 6.5 PH in the last 3-4 weeks and it helped them recover, and plump up noticeably. -VPD. The #1 thing I focused on was VPD. I keep it .9kpa range, as best as humanly possible. It was honestly, HUGELY noticeable compared to my other grows. I know truly understand the value of properly dialed in VPD. This is the one lesson that will stick with me forever. - Super-cropping: On the plants I give the chiropractic treatment too, had much thicker stems as much larger channel internally. I did this treatment to 4 of the 6, and the 4 that had it done has larger buds and recovered from defoliation faster. TLDR; VPD is king. Super-cropping is worth the time. Keeping PH and EC dialed in were all wins. Autopots kick ass.
