Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. 1.I had 3 pop 18 hours right away from floating in the water. 2. 2 were in a paper towel that did nothing so far after 18 hours. 3. Placed paper towel seeds in water for a few hours to see if we can get them popped. 4. 2 seeds are germed and ready to go, have been planted. One in fox farms happy frog and one in a riot rooter as an experiment. We shall see who comes about first. Doing 12-16 hours of light. 5. After 48 hours, all 5 have popped and 2 of them are already breaking the soil with their first 2 leaves. Let's go! 6. Day 3 - 72 hours later - 2 of the seeds have sprouted their first 2 leaves and are above the soil! *excitement ensues* 7. Day 3 (continued) UH OH! I just realized my paper towel doesn't have a seed in it. I checked on the floor and found it, the taproot has gone back inside the seed, I'm worried I may have killed it. I planted it in the Root Riot anyway and I'm hoping for the best. :/ 8. Day 3 (continued) continuing 18-6 light.

We had problems with nutrients but that was controlled with the adjustment of ph the growth is going well we are in the sixth week.

Ciao a tutti! Ho finalmente finito il mio primo giro in idroponica. Dunque, al netto dei miei errori che avevo messo in preventivo, è un metodo davvero ottimo per coltivare. Salta subito all'occhio la velocità palese con cui crescono le piante, molto di più rispetto al metodo classico a terra. A suo favore posso anche dire che lascia molto più pulito il box non avendo terra e quant'altro. I vasi da svuotare sono pratici, mi sono segnato però delle tacche per segnare i livelli a diversi litri, da poter capire come fare quando si deve rabboccare di acqua. Le note dolenti. Beh innanzitutto sconsigliato assolutamente a luglio e agosto per via delle temperature, l'acqua nel vaso dovrebbe stare a 22 gradi al massimo, io stavo almeno a 5 in più. Poi, avendo 35 litri d'acqua in 3 vasi e avendo 10 prodotti da utilizzare nella quantità di 2 ml/l, non posso dire che sia la via più economica. Anche se bisogna valutare anche che, soprattutto in vegetativa, si rabboccano i prodotti anche a distanza di 2 settimane,quindi con ampie pause tra una volta e l'altra. Ho sbagliato a calcolare l'allungamento quando le ho girate in fioritura, si sono allungate almeno il doppio di quello che pensavo e così facendo non si sono formati dei bei fiori apicali grossi, ma tanti fiori sulla stessa ramificazione e quindi ci ho rimesso almeno in impatto visivo di sicuro. Però questa è una cosa che dipende dalla velocità dell'idroponica, la prossima volta lo so e mi comporterò di conseguenza. Nota dolente assai: la muffa. Ho sbagliato a volerla fare nel periodo estivo, fa troppo caldo e per mitigare la temperatura ho usato anche l'umidificatore in fioritura. Errore madornale, ho buttato via 60-70 grammi. Già l'estate scorsa ho avuto problemi di temperatura, la prossima sicuramente non coltiverò, sono stato un cretino.

Beginning of week 7 in flower, only two more weeks left if they ripen like they did last time. Plants are beginning to smell, develop triches and fattening up. They're not going to get any taller but compared to my first grow they're double in size. It's getting really intense. I'm in there every day checking humidity (on the no defol side) and I'm starting to struggle keeping up with the feed. During lights off I've found the plants eat the most food. I topped up the res, added 25% more PK. I try to keep the plants at 700 ppm and in the space of four hours it dropped to 600 ppm (towards the end of lights off). I stopped directly loading with Calcium Nitrate and instead used a regular calmag. I'm about to go overboard with Calcium Nitrate again and bump the ppm up to 1k. Will see how far the ppm drops the next day. 17/02/20 Update: The plants are beginning to smell a lot more, it has that kind of fermenting pungent smell from a red paw paw but applied to a mango. Very sweet, it literally smells like I'm growing some kind of tropical fruit. Still struggling with the feed, I added close to 40g of calcium nitrate and the plants still dropped the ppm lower than when I boosted it. I find it really frustrating that Dual Fuel only sell as a pair. Part 2 is amazing for late flower. Potassium sulphate and Magnesium sulphate, it's the perfect PK boost and I don't know anyone other nutrient like it. The other PK boosters always have too much P. 18/02/20 Update: Still battling my plants and the efforts to keep up with them is still frustrating me. Ran out of potassium Sulphate and bought Bio Diesel Rhino K 0-0-15 as a substitute, talk about expensive but I was desperate. 19/02/20 Update: Uploaded how I pump calcium into my plants this late into flower. They eat more than what I showed daily. That's 100+ ppm of Ca everyday! I don't know how much pectin this plant has now but the Brix would have to be through the roof compared to my first grow. 20/02/20 Update: finally got the feed right for a twelve hour period. I'm using two times the amount of K any bloom booster recommends and I'm probably using ten times the amount of calcium easily. I'm also going to feed as minimal N from now on, I'd cut it out completely if I could but I rely on Micros for the macro nutrients. Spent $65 on that bottle of potash and I used a third of a bottle for one nutrient change, think I'll stick to using powered water soluble potassium sulfate. My main concern is that I won't be providing enough iron with the little Micro I'm giving it. Going to throw a couple of rustry nails into the res. I'm about to do a top up...dropping the Micro super low, putting minimal part 2 in. Along with all the fulvics, humics, kelp and other acids my ppm only sits at 244. Which gives me plenty of room to load up on calcium. Top up the mag cause what was in the part 2 wasn't enough then load K. 21/02/20 Update: The plants finally stalled and took a breather yesterday. Didn't upload any photos cause it looked the same as the day before. By the end of the evening it looked like the explosive growth started back up again and the photos from today will show it. The ppm was creeping up not down this time...finally over feeding them. Dropped the extra loading of calcium and potassium to regular bloom phase levels and bumped the chelators up instead. Update 22/02/20: plants aren't eating what they were. Ppm is remaining stable at 800. I won't dilute the res just yet. Still holding off to see if it goes up again. If it goes down I'll refeed the same formula as last time that has reduced calcium and potassium.

Прошла ещё неделя, деуочка уже очень покрылась трихомами листва на шишках, жаль камера не как не позволяет захватить, но она очень сахарная уже, глаз радует каждый взгляд, борюсь с дефецитом фосфора и калия, запустил не специально, пошла на улучшение но всё равно ещё ей тяжело, надеюсь сильно не скажется на выход, шишки набирают силу и мощь каждую ночь, на утро всегда удивляюсь при открытий бокса)

Day 73, 25th of November 2020: Hi! Well they are getting nice maturing buds getting bigger and all good. I love the red colour of the Red Hot Cookies. Unfortunately, Tropicanna Poison and Red Mandarnine does not show any signs of purple or red colour. Kalini Asia neither albeit, the bonsai version gets purple. Gelato is little beauty. So yes, basically not much to say. Fertilization is still the same every second day with the ratio and mixture above stated. The lamp is on 11.15 min and off 12.45 min. Last week was 15 min longer light cycle.... So every week 15 min shorter light cycle until the 5th week. So far -45 min. It switches on at 6 am and off at 17.15 pm.

Filling out the trellis net. Looks like another 2-3 weeks until I flip the ladies. Using SST’s, LABS and natural inputs for this grow. I have made some mistakes in the past using Organics, but have figured out HOW to use them for an entire grow. The vegetative state, I have never had a problem with. The transition into the first 3 weeks is when I have had the most issues. After a little research and testing, I finally have a basic blue print of how to feed plants in flower for 10-12 weeks now or shorter. Mark Bowell from Perfect Gardens on YouTube and Mr Canucks Grow from Canada are my largest information inputs. Final Thank you to Mr McGooz for keeping me in the know. 10-11: yes, some of the stalks are turning purple. This is not due to phosphorus, magnesium, or any deficiency. It is due to the light being too intense for the plants. I am at the max distance and running the light at 30% ( it’s a 600 watt 🤣🤣). Soooo yeah, that purple is going to stay for a bit. Purple with other leaf discoloration or senescence IS a problem, purple stems with NO leaf issues isn’t serious issue. Cant it be fixed? We are going to find out….Photosynthesis Plus will be on hand in the next 5-6 days. This permits the plant to USE more of the photons ( yes, I have carbon in my media). This should minimize the purple and allow me to UP THE WATTS 🗣️🗣️ 10-14: spoke to my “guide” and we made the decision to go ahead and flower these ladies. We saw how much stretch there is to be had and realized we are currently filling the trellis by 75%. We are estimating the entire 4x4 area to be completely filled. I defoliated and pruned the smaller sites off the lower areas of the plant. Not quite lollipopping, just selectivity choosing sites to keep and bones that will get in the way. For transition I am using a ratio of 1:1:1 on NPK’s to ease the flip. The ppm’s will be between 750-800. Once we reach early flower, we switch the NPK’s to 1:3:2 ( flower girl by Dr Earth OR Fish bone meal and langbenite). I switch each feeding between the two for 5-6 weeks. At week 7 we switch to 0:3:3 ( seabird guano and Langbeinite) at 500 ppm’s. Week 8 the same feed. Week 9 kelpseaweed/water Only ( these are 10 week cultivars). Thank you for taking the time to read. 10-16 😍😍😍 Plants are starting to show deficiencies!!! Yes, normally one freaks out 😂😂😂 The slight deficiency is a sign that I can go ahead and start: The Flowering Cycle. When using Organics, you have to use your eyes because nothing is specific. Meaning: you have to see when the amendments are running out to A: Top Dress B. Make compost teas. We are going the compost tea route for flower. I made a video showing exactly what I use. The ratio is 5-5-5 ( yes earlier we were going to use 2-2-2, but we found out there is no calcium or magnesium in the all purpose mix by Dr Earth…another reason to learn to read your plants).

wow!!!!! she's amazing :) her buds already look stiff, and she's still ripening :) Zamnesia Runtz auto is great for small spaces, I can also smell her amazing scent, I have no doubt that she'll have a great smoke :) the girl will only get 6.3ph water from now on, -washing :) I think she has about 2 weeks left until the finish :) I can't take all the credit for it, my Cat helps me :) watch the video :).

2024-06-08 structurewise the Plant is ready to start off into Flower. i topped her several times, and she responded very well to the training. BREEDER INFO Tangerine Snow F1 Fast Feminised is a 75% sativa, four-way cross of (Boost x Tangelo) with (Lavender x Power Plant). This Fast F1 hybrid is bred from Cali genetics and boasts great citrus terps, high resin production for extracts, high levels of THC, very good yields and excellent mould resistance. Tangerine Snow F1 Fast can be grown indoors as well as outdoors. Indoor flowering times are between 8 - 10 weeks while harvest time in northern latitudes is during September while in the southern hemisphere growers will be harvesting during March. Recommended climate regions are hot, dry, humid and warm. These are tall, semi-branched plants that grow in excess of 200cm and display a high degree of vigour with very good uniformity. In common with many other heavily sativa-dominant strains, Tangerine Snow F1 Fast offers excellent resistance to mould as well as to plant pests and diseases. The combination of citrus terps and plenty of resin makes thi a very good extract strain with the 'washing' method delivering very good yields of hash. The citrus terpene profile is reminiscent of mandarins and tangerines and also has sweet candy notes. THC production has been lab-verified at a strong 24% while CBD is low. The effect is uplifting and energising, perfect for use during the day and early evening.

Been flushing for the past 2 weeks. Accidentally missed a watering and the leaves did not appreciate it.
