Everything coming alone wonderfully

My good friend convinced me that trimming and training are paramount, so I've started with slowly defoliating the Creme de la Chems to try and get to lollipop status. They're just starting to flower, so I figured I could get away with a more aggressive approach. Because I failed to train these girls early, I'm stuck dealing with a little rain forest. What I've tried to do is trace each flower topped stalk up from the base, and trim away from the bottom up. 1/3 of the way up per day. I've now got a thick canopy, and I've been trying to just use leaf tucking and manual manipulation every few hours in order to keep the different height flowering sites in direct light. These ladies have really been thriving, and it's been such a joy to watch them grow! I like having two plants in one net pot letting them grow wild, but I think in my next grow I'll keep it to one per pot and train better from the start. As for the Super Orange Haze ... not as good. I attempted to pull the main branch over to train her to some empty space, but I was too aggressive and ended up popping her head off :(. First grow, first disaster. I took the head and stripped her/coated in clonex and pushed her into some potting soil just to see what would happen. There hasn't been enough foliage to really make me want to do any trimming, I've just tried to tie the stalks off to train them apart. I'm really sad about my mistake decapitation, but she seems to be doing well still. She's probably week 2 of flower based on others' journals. I changed the water midway through the week (which is when the videos were taken). I drained most of the water out, but roots prevented me from getting the last few gallons. When I refilled the res with RO, I measured the PPM at around 200. I have to assume that remaining nutrient was completely unbalanced leftovers, so feeding will have to just have to be experimental. My approach has been to give around 1:1 Gro vs Bloom and Micro every 2-3 days when I refill with RO. I want to build my PPM up to 1000, but slowly so that I can detect if I hit a ceiling first. It's hard to measure how much food is in the water based on PPM. CalMag is what drives it mostly, so I've been using CalMag as a sort of measuring stick. I keep the CalMag pegged to the Bloom food, but I know it's only good for initial dosing. I can't assume the plants are eating CalMag in the same proportion as anything else :(. If anyone has a line on cheap lab testing ... hit me up. I'd love to be able to test a few hundred samples at a time for NPK and trace so that I can tell (even if post facto) what was going on.

Parece que ha terminado de estirar. Practico una defoliación intensa para airear los futuros cogollos y dejar mas espacio en el cuarto de cultivo. Agrupo de nuevo las macetas en su lugar optimo para asi rellenar por completo la carpa @marshydro. Me quedé algo corto de nutrientes pero estoy muy contento con los resultados, cada vez le voy encontrando mas su punto optimo. Siempre es mejor quedarse corto que pasarse.

Those two permanent marker plants are still kinda short, but they're finally starting to take off. It's cool to see them getting bushy. They're looking good so far. Well, it's Christmas again. This year feels a little different, though. Maybe it's the snow blanketing everything, or the way the tree lights up the whole living room. Either way, it's cozy and warm, even when it's freezing outside. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Santa brings. I hope I get that new video game I've been wanting. But most of all, I can't wait to spend time with my family. We always have so much fun This past week was a good one for the plants. They started the first week of their stretch, and they've already grown a decent amount. I can really see them filling out. It's cool to watch them grow so fast. I can't wait to see how big they get by the end I always get a little worried at this stage, like they're not gonna get as big as I want them to. But then I remember how they always end up surprising me. By the end, they're always perfect.

Had to tie down some mains diagonally. She has more stretch than her mother for sure. Smells super skunky with that sweet candy in the background right now. Feeding every other day.

Ci siamo! Siamo arrivati quasi al traguardo...questi giorni le ragazze sono al loro massimo splendore e l'odore nella stanza e fortissimo! Anche questo aggiornamento è stato fatto grazie all'aiuto di mia madre che gentilmente mi ha tenuto e curato le bambine, sono contento perché sembra che è riuscita a seguire tutte le mie istruzioni e questa volta non ci sono stati problemi...è la prima volta che mi capita di competere in un contest e farmi mandare foto per mail..chiedo scusa se la messa a fuoco non è sempre delle migliori e personalmente non posso chiedere di meglio, è un lavoro che mi serviva e sono dovuto partire lasciando tutto indietro...tornando ai nostri fiori, il green sensation di Plagron devo dire che ha fatto la differenza, contando che il cibo questa volta è stato preparato interamente da me, ha fatto un ottimo lavoro e i fiori sembrano dirlo forte! Cercherò di aggiornare l'ultimo step prima della fine...tra due giorni farò tagliare le ragazze! A presto!!!

Week 8 - Oct 26 to Nov 2nd Alright so upon reflection in Week 8 of my Chem-Bomb Auto diary it was not the best week but nothing disastrous 🙌 Random November heatwave got the apartment room up to near summer temperatures but the airflow was fine with an open tent + second fan. Crisped the tips a bit with the heat and upping the nutes. This advanced nutes stuff is very salty for a soil grow and even the small amounts reported above, split between the 4 plants, still end up getting to the fan leaves. Using Molasses and plain water feeds between nute feeds this stuff is still very touchy. The Chocolate Mint OG Autos are bigger overall plants with more stretch in the last week. A lot more bud sites but overall the buds are still smaller so hopefully it finishes strong and really plumps over the next few weeks. More in Week 9! Thanks for checking in! I need to get my l.s.t. done. Plan to this weekend. Have been alternating waterings between regular water and water with 2.5ml of fox farm grow big. Have watered all times with 200ml of water and the solution water mix. Been keeping the humidity at about 45% temp around 68. Can tell a huge difference in sizes of the plants and their container sizes. Will be going with at least 3gal pots next grow. Still using a 25w light as well. Will be upgrading that asap. It's week 9 of flower and she's been fed her last bit of nutrients. I'll start flushing with BushDoctor's SledgeHammer 2 tsp a gallon. Then just straight water until the chop :)
