5 week flower

Ok, so it's slowly getting thicker and frostier. At week seven my girl could be ready in anywhere from two weeks to four weeks more. The light was dropped closer to the top of the canopy. I decided to try 15 cm of distance, as well four 50W LEDs are not as powerful as the 600W HID or LED panels that are usually used in grow tents. I will of course keep an eye for signs of light and heat stress, but I suspect that won't be a problem. Update Day 89. Today I decided to turn the plant around to see the back colas and their growth. Then I found some mites under the leaves after examining weird spots in a couple of leaves. It seems to me that there was not enough airflow to deter the mites from making home in the back leaves, when compared to the front leaves of my plant. Lesson learnt, rotate plant often, ensure good and even airflow. I didn't find any webs beside a really small one seen on the video (most affected leaf). So, I think I found them mites early. I only found this kind of damage on very few leaves, and each leave contained less than 8 mites (at least that I could see) and a couple of eggs. So it seems that paying close attention to my leaves saved me from an out of control infestation. Anyhow... I removed all of the leaves that had even a single mite, or a single mark of discoloration. Also, I disinfected the grow tent, top of soil and lower part of the branches by spraying them with a 1/4 tbsp of bleach per liter of water. After that was completely dry, I mixed one part rubbing alcohol with 9 parts water and misted both sides of the leaves and even the buds directly (ethanol evaporates easily, so there shouldn't be residues left after it dries completely). Prevention is key, and some aspects I could've considered before are: 1. not grow any other plant next to my cannabis 2. Don't come into my indoor growtent after tending my outdoor plants. 3. Ensure even and plenty airflow. So, I attacked back strongly. I cut more leaves than those that showed damage, to increase airflow. I will be on the watch for pests and will rotate my plant often, as well as spraying a few times every week, just to make sure they don't come back. I also am going to build a kind of metal wire cage to separate the colas further and make it harder for any pest to spread. Its only my second grow, but from what I've read online about mites, it's way more costly (time and money) to deal with an infestation than to strike them hard early. I guess that specially now that I noticed them before they even made webs. Look closely at your girls growbros ! Update day 90. So this morning I. Becker the trichomes and they seem to have gotten more cloudy. I am not an expert at that, but they are starting to be fewer clear and more milky. I will keep an eye on them, but it think harvest might be here very soon, probably closer to the 9 week mark than to the 12 week one (I'm about to finish the 7th week)...

La semana 2 a sido un poco jodida, el inicio de la semana fue ir a mirar las plantas por la mañana y ver una planta cortada al lado del tallo.. me dio mucha rabia era una moon rock, como tenia la moon rock 3 en vaso pues la puse en su lugar.. pero lo malo es que al dia siguiente otras 2 plantas igual. Y por la noche revisando vi un gusano milpies de esos que son grises duros y si los tocas te huele fatal la mano.. por lo que se ve este individuo estaria pegado en la malla de sombraje y no me di cuenta.. Les toca riego con microvita a dosis de 1 gr en 4 litros de agua. Le doy a cada planta medio litro de la solucion nutriente. Como veia que no tiraban bien en exterior con la malla de sombra pues monte la estructura del armario y las puse bajo el Led 240 w para alargarle las horas, las tengo por la mañana de 9 a 17 al sol y luego las meto en el interior a alargarles las horas. Al final quedan 3 plantas vivas, 2 auto fractal y 1 auto moon rock.. espero poder acabar el cultivo lo mas decentemente posible.

This plant is already good for harvest... It's so early! The colas are huge and fat. The trichomes are cloudy with plenty of amber. We took some samples a few days ago and tried it in the vaporizer. We're starting the chop and trim this week. My next post on this diary will be the harvest post. And so it begins!!!

As usual, I prepare everything I need for planting in advance. I still use Air-pots because they are really great. For the soil, I used BioBizz - Light Mix, which I filled 2/3 of the container and then added the Organic booster in pellets, Mycorrhiza and Rhizobacter. I mixed everything together well with the soil and filled the container to the top. I soaked the earth well with 2 liters of water, made a small hole, put the seed and lightly covered it with earth. The conditions on the Farm are good, the temperature is around 25 degrees while the humidity is around 50%. I think that after sprouting I will put a humidifier to increase the humidity. 23/04/2023 I sprinkled some water on the surface of the earth to let them know where they should go. 24/04/2023 Apollo F1 sprouted like its other two roommates. 26/04/2023 First watering. I regulated the p.H. of water at 6.0 and watered the plant with maybe 0.5 liters of water. That's all for this week, see you soon.

On the final stretch. Bug issues seem to be under control. All plants were flushed last week. This lady had 9l of dechlorinated water @6.8 pass through her. Checked pH in the run off and was spot on. All the buds are very dense. The way I have trained her has meant rather the some tall colas I have lots of smaller along the same branch as I kept the canopy wide and flat. I can't believe it's been this long! I started this grow after seeing @silky_smooth doing amazing art. So I decided to main line and train 16 colas.. second grow and probably way too ambitious. I have learned so much from her taking 4 clones and finding my way with my nutes. I hope I have not failed her or the great genetics Barney's Farm have produced. I had a vision of what I wanted her to look like and I feel I got what I set out for. Lessons learned. Slow down on nutes. Less is more sometimes! Plastic pots suck ass... At least 25l ones do. If I ever grow in this pot again I will amend my substrate as the drainage seemed way off with just biobizz light mix. Lights... 100% on the dimmer is not always best..(thanks @Mrs_Larimar) Bugs... They are bastards and I will start to feed nematodes into my final pot each grow from now on. And lots more.... Hope to get some feedback about nutrition : After 1 plant developed a small brown tip, I started feeding. A total of 116.6 liters of water goes into my system. The feeding schedule says that you should give 4 ml of root juice per liter of water. So: 116.6 x 4 = 466 in total for week 1. So, 466/7 = 66.5 ml per day. Despite this, the differences in root growth per container seem very different. 1 bin was so far behind that I changed them. However, after 1 day a brown mass developed in the roots. The others are still nice and white. Is this already the bereft root rot? I've made some pictures and a video. The first plant in the video was first in the container of the third plant in the video. EC value = 0.6 PH = 6.6 Update 3-5 : After adding more air, problem solved. Need to keep an eye on plant #3. I've put sticks on top of the startblock. 1 stick is plant #1 etc. Plant 3 is behind the rest. Root development also differs from the rest. Instead of a long (about 50 cm) long carrot, they are a few short (10/15 cm). The plant is also significantly smaller than the rest. Can't do much now so, let's hope and see she can catch up.

A great week. Included a diagram so you can better tell which plant is which. I will be changing that up come flower to better fit the plants so I'll label them later as well. Gonna flip to flower I believe to try and save space. Gonna be tight but wasn't planning that this time. Have to do a lot of training still. Haven't gotten to it due to being so busy with life. I got some BT var israelensis or something close to that for the fungus gnats thanks to @resimax and will test that. Lastly, you might catch a glance at the upcoming diary...
