When the medium got dry again, the roots starts to look for water and that's the time to turn the autopot on. The Autopot System is a gravity fed watering system which requires no power, pumps or timers to operate. I am using the easy2grow model and a flexitank as a reservoir.
I filled the reservoir with 4 gallons of water:
- 0,2 mS/cm - Calimagic
- 0,4 mS/cm - BioGrow
- ph - 5.8
Keeping an eye on the reservoir ph during the week.
Looking healthy!
The ph in the reservoir went down to 4,8 after 7 days, but the ph in the autopot was still ok, 5,8. I topped the reservoir with plain water until the ph reach 5,8.
I am going to remove the water and clean the reservoir after 14 days.
After that, I refilled the reservoir with 4 gallons of water with the same concentration of nuts as before:
- 0,2 mS/cm - Calimagic
- 0,4 mS/cm - BioGrow
- ph - 5.8
Still looking healthy!
I cleaned the reservoir and fill it again with the same amount of nutrients and ph. The ph in the reservoir is going down day after day, I have to keep the eye on it and top the reservoir with plain water.
Using:
- 0,2 mS/cm - Calimagic
- 0,4 mS/cm - BioGrow
- ph - 5.8
As you can see in the images, I waited until the 6th node was well apart the main stem to cut it off. Even though its an auto, I wanted to take a shot with topping since my first plant grew too much and went over the lights. Now I am trying to keep it short with topping and LST.
Both plants recovered well from the stress caused by the top. They began to grow again after 3 days, by day 29.
One of the plants is getting more stretched than the other one and I am not sure why. I believe it is because of the amount of light they are getting, although the distance look the same. I'm still watching the PH in the reservoir and using the same amount of nuts as before.
- 0,2 mS/cm - Calimagic
- 0,4 mS/cm - BioGrow
- ph - 5.8
I increased the amount of nuts to:
- 0,25 mS/cm - Calimagic
- 0,6 mS/cm - BioGrow
- ph - 5.8
Started the LST training by day 40 and also took the box that was underneath the pots to increase the light distance.
Hey!
These babys are growing fast! I don't know why plant 1 is some days ahead. It's pretty clear when we take a close look at the colas in day 48. There way more white pistils. That's why I waited to change the nuts to the short flowering kind. I am mixing the Grow with the Flowering and I am going to increase the amount of the Short Flowering nuts as time goes by.
I changed it in day 48 to:
- 0,25 mS/cm - Calimagic
- 0,5 mS/cm - BioGrow
- 0,2 mS/cm - Short Flowering Powder
- ph - 5.8
