Second week flowering. Stretching starts a little and I see the first signs of flowering. Also see a new problem: leaves are canoeing downwards, see also the pictures. When I google a bit I get nitro toxification, overwatering or to hot but I guess neither of them seems to be the case here: I already cut back a lot on nuts, daytime temp is around 28C and the soil is not very wet or soaked...

Newbie:Now in three weeks: the lower leaves start to turn yellow quite fast and it is moving to the leaves above it already. One disformed leave as well. Growth seems to slow down a bit. This is fresh fertilised potting soil and I am pretty sure I am not overwatering. Any ideas?

Hi there Kees, so this is what happened : every time you water you’re slightly overwatering which is “activating” or “releasing” the nutrients in the soil a bit “too much” so over time there is an excess of Nitrogen which is causing “lock out” meaning the plant is not taking any more N, and of course in veg it does need N. So now you see the symptoms of N deficiency , but you know there is no deficiency. This you can see first on the leafs , the puffy space between the veins of the leafs is from overwatering, you can also see them wrinkled . Then the yellowing starting with the oldest leafs first , moving upwards . Hopefully there is not too much damage. You can fix this by following a more strict wet dry cycle , try the pot lifting method if you want to learn never to overwater again. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Fellow growers, after a few weeks of beautifull growth, I now start to get yellowing leaves which dry up and starve. I am. I am doubting between a lack of nutrification or over nutrification. I suspect the latter (biocanna nutrients and soil). Any ideas? Thanks!!

Overfeeding for sure. Measuring the EC of your runoff helps with this. If the EC in your runoff is going up after each feed, them you're probably giving too much nutes. In this case the dark green foliage is a classic sign of too much N, but it looks like you have other toxicities as well. Almost never trust the feeding schedule on the bottle. Always start at 1/4 and slowly increase it. You'll rarely need to go past half strength in my experience.

Try going to a plain water/plain water/feed/plain water/plain water/feed schedule. If you are feeding each and every irrigation, you will get a build up of fertilizer salts, especially if you are only giving 50-100mls and not flushing the substrate properly. The symptoms appear very much like nitrogen overdose, and if you are feeding each time you irrigate, this would be plausible. Unfortunately these things build up slowly over time, until the plant can take no more and before symptoms appear, but by then the problem is intensive. Fixing the problem is also a long and slow process and is not something that can be remedied in a week. Flushing with lots of plain water can be dangerous too, as it may release more nutrient salts from the substrate and cause a bigger problem. Therefore, switching to a water/water/feed routine may be the first option in preventing the problem from getting worse, but there is no easy or quick fix. Hopefully by doing so, your plants new growth will be much more normal and some slow and steady healing can begin. With this water/water/feed schedule, you should be feeding your plants every 8-12 days, depending on how fast your substrate dries out. In about 3 weeks time, I would suggest giving more plain water between feeding, maybe a litre or a bit more, to begin flushing the substrate between feeds and to prevent from the nutrient salts building up again and causing your plants ongoing problems. Hope this helps,............. Organoman.

@CRiSPrGrow, Just checked, still feels moist lower in the pot, so I wil start with 50 ml tomorrow. Raise the humidity will not be easy, as she grows in a DIY minigrowbox in the livingroom 😎 Is about 50-55 though, so should not be bad...

@Keesdemees, damn, yes, there is some "inertia" involved fro when you fix the problem until when the problem stops spreading... you dont really need more than 50-100 ml ... try raising your humidity a bit also, it should help

@CRiSPrGrow, Thanks! Already far less water as with the first attempt but still to much I guess :-/. Keep it dry now but the yellowing is getting worse, so she took a hit. Let's see if she is going to make it. To be sure, for my third attempt I ordered special cannabis soil and a complete starters with nutrients and a feeding schedule. Sure want my third attempt to work out! Thanks again for answering my question.

It is like you said, but the distance is to close( or did you dimm the light=? because the smaller plant looks goodd in leafcolor, just growing very " flat" if you rise the light, plants grow towards

@Mrs_Larimar, OK, thanks! Yes, it is dimmed a bit (otherwise it is to hot in the closed), but also I just made the distance about 30cm more. Let's see how it goes :-) Thanks again!!

Hola mi hermano ! Le recomendaría hacer "defoliacion" para ir sacando esas hojas grandes para que crezca con mayor facilidad, dando luz y espacio a los pequeños brazos

@Greenwolvesfarmer, Thanks man for the advice. I'll watch some YouTube video's how to do that. ;-) Could this also be the reason that suddenly leaves are getting yellow? Or could this be overfeeding? ( I use biocanna rhizotonic and biovega, both 2ml/l for every watering) I think I got a new hobby here, I like this a lot! 😀
