Soaking seeds over night in room temperature rain water (our drinking tap water), into a seed raising mix and into the final container.
Planning to veg under a 20/4 (? thoughts) , and will increase the LEDs from 50%-100% power over 7 to 10 days(? thoughts.)
15ltr Autopot.
I've drilled holes on all four sides of 2 of the autopot container's and will line the inside with wind break netting to hold coco mix, I'm trying for a airpot type container and will rotate container's 90° each day for a few weeks (why not?.)
I have a reverse osmosis filter with/without alkaline filter, though the rain water is 200ppm and 6.8ph.
Tent is a 1.45m square x 2m high.
LEDS are Meijiu 2 x 240w + 660nm
Will add a 600w hps when it's needed.
•Cannacoco pro at 70%
•Perlite/Vermiculite at 30%
•Nutrifield coco a&b - will follow label for concentrations
•Growtek Cal-Mag - Will follow instructions
•Growtek Pro silicate
+ Drip clean.
then pH to 5.8 till it's stable (12hrs), check ppm and then empty reservoir, measure amount used and and fill reservoir with fresh solution at max of 7 days.
Will add a small circulation pump to run 5min/hr and I will be testing water temperature.
Open to using other additives during lifecycle if well recommend.
Planning on trying a ScRog across the whole tent.
This is my second attempt after the tops of my just sprouting seeds were eaten by a caterpillar before going into tent.
Any advice would be appreciated, and thank you to GrowDiaries as this is going to keep me on track and maximizing every
All seeds sank and were placed into a 75mm cube of rockwool.
3 out of 4 seeds sprouted. CPK failed and was replaced with a LA Confidential.
Seedlings were struggling (yellowing and slow growth) so I dug out parts of the rock wool and packed in some seed raising mix,
Seedlings seem to improve a little and decision was made to place straight into the autopot container.
Seedlings have continued to have a yellow color with little growth.
This I'm thinking is from being in a over wet medium (rockwool) for too long.
There's leaf damage to a couple of leaves(photos)
The replacement LA.C seed was soaked overnight and placed into a jiffy disk. Seed germinated and was also placed into a Autopot container.
This seedling is growing well and is a green color.
Decided to water the three original plants with a seedling strength coco a&b solution with added Cal-Mag, pH to 5.85 and applied till I had a 50% runoff (is this to make all the coco coir to have the same nutrient consistently ?.
Outside temperature has started to drop so a oil fin heater on a thermostat will be added with a small fan for circulation.
3 replacement seeds are currently waiting to pop out of a jiffy disk after 24hrs in water.
However the seedlings that were yellow have now changed back to green and appear to be growing well in the last few days, including the leaves that had turned yellow.
Plants have come around slowly and are now going forward.
Received second water/feeding with plenty of run off.
Autopots have been topped up with more coco mix.
Lights have been turned up slightly.
Lights raised to 80cms and draw wattage dimmed to a total of 150w between the two boards.
Oscillating fan moved as closest plants had slight wind burn symptoms (see pics.)
Trying to raise humidity to 60-65 percent but finding it difficult.
Have had wet towels lying over the oil column heater, which dry rapidly but doesn't alter the humidity much (two cheap meters) but it feels more humid to me.
Plants really seem to like having the lights further away and were even noticable after a couple of hours.
Replacement L.A confidential seedling has a plastic container suspended over it to reduce the intensity (?) of the LEDs until it's a bit bigger.
Also lighting schedule has been changed from 24hrs to 20/4.
A few new old friends are going to help out and keep a eye on things as well (pics.)
Finally transferred to a 1.45m x 1.45m x 2m(5 x 5) tent.
Autopot turned on, and plants appear to be doing well, nutrients at recommend levels.
ScRog net built(1.3m) with squares at 50mm(2in) and placed at 280mm(11in) above base of plants.
3 plants topped at 240mm(10in) in height, with those cuttings dipped in honey and placed in Jiffy discs, also looking well.
Jack Herer has a lot longer node interval and has reached the ScRog net first.
Lights have been turned up to 50% and are 800mm(31in) above ScRog net.
Exhaust ventilation running 18hrs on during day and on 15min/off 15min during night.
Ordered a third 240w+660nm but in 3000k to be run during flowering, eventually allowing around 35+watts/square foot.
Started ScRog on the Jack Herer (bottom left photo) but unfortunately broke one of the main laterals off and I have reattached with tape.
Amnesia has just started Scrog (bottom right) and it and the LA Confidential are very bushy and has a dense node interval.
Forth (replacement) LA Confidential is a few weeks behind.
Both the Amnesia and LA have very short node intervals, with strong branches but not "stretching" in height much so the Jack Herer will probably end up covering a larger percentage of the ScRog.
I dimmed the lighting a little to try and increase height of these two strains as I thought I might be over lighting them but the JH seems to be loving it.
The main laterals from the top of the main stems have been tipped again and keep for clones.(jack herer only had one lateral topped.)
Sides of the ScRog have been zip tied to the corners as the ScRog net could move a bit if bumped.
Brought 10m of Acoustic ducting for exhaust fan, with half placed on either end with fan outside tent, 6in clip on fan purchased for the top of the ScRog with two fans underneath.
Should these type of large Sun leaves be either removed or "supercropped" down to allow more light onto the laterals growing along the bottom branches ?
Pictures are before and after holding the leaf to the side.
Plants are currently being LST and then will be ScRoged.
Cheers
It’s really a personal preference and either way is fine. I personally remove the large fan leaves off the main stem and remove the large suckers off secondary branches at very bottom to get really nice airflow. I feel that the more room the buds have to breathe and the more direct light you can give them the fatter the product. Happy Growing and good luck 👍
Applied too heavier weight last night to straighten one of the top branchs out (LST) and this morning I have found the stem split in half at the top.
I have tied them back together, is this all I can really do or should I take for clones ?

No panic bro 😊 It happens to me all the times when I bend my plants to fit them under the ScrOG. It will keep growing. You can fix it with duct tape if you want.
Carried on pushing branches down and removing large and shaded leaves for humidity control.
Added a inkbird temperature control and a dehumidifier set to 60 per cent, also had a lot of wet cold weather which affects air intake from outside.
I've been pulling branches down and out instead of weaving in and out through my ScRog net.
Will this make much difference on when I should flip to 12/12 ?
I think I'm close but not sure.
Switched to 12/12, added third 240w+660 LED qb from Meijiu except in 3000k instead of 3500k. It's a lot more of a yellow light, similar to the hps color.
Going to keep tucking for 7 days.
One week since flip, have kept tucking shoots and branches.
Defoliated heavily to improve airflow and humidity and the plants loved it.
Humidity (relative) was fluctuating between 60 and 80%.
Added a small 240w dehumidifier and another one will be added ASAP.
Brought a good pH pen (bluelab) as I've been using a cheap chinese knockoff, I haven't noticed any problems in plants but don't trust the reliability of it.
Have been keeping a close eye on VPD and can feel the improvements already.
Has anyone tried taking monster cropped clones using air layering ?,any tips or advice ?
My girls are 14 days in flower(ScRog) so I am going to try a few lower branches today for fun and defoliate and prune in a week or so.
Thanks
Finished tucking 10 days after flipping to 12/12.
Managed to rearrange the plants underneath the ScRog net to maximize canopy area.
3 autos are now pushed up under the ScRog net in the front corner filling in a gap.
2nd dehumidifier added to grow room (not tent) but I'm still running into a wide range of humidity levels (60-75%) as the outside environment is unusually wet and warm for the middle of winter.
Made 3 meter extension cords to increase the distance that I can get the drivers from the QB's.
Lowered QB's to 620mm off ScRog net and running at 50% power (manufacturer recommendations.)
Researching more about monster cropped clones as when I get to 21days into flower I will defoliate and prune below ScRog net.
Clones have already been taken as I've been tucking and removing (& breaking accidentally) leaves and stems.
I'm not sure what I will do after this group is finished.
I want to get the next group going as fast as possible after harvest and with minimal veg time inside tent.
I can keep the clones out of the tent for awhile so they will hopefully be ready to flip straight away-ish.
I'm either thinking of 16 x 5-10 ltr square fabric pots, coco/perlite mix or coco/soil mix, on a diy autopot valve tray holding 4 plants each, or if the monster crop clones take well I could do 6-8 (?) of them in their own individual autopots.
Sog or monster crop but open to other ideas.
23 days since 12/12 flip.
Plants went through some sort of nutrient/pH issue but seem to have out grown it.
Lollipop and a hard defoliation underway.
Had a week away from tent.
L.A Confidential didn't strech very much if anything after flipping, though J.H has a fair amount with the Amnesia halfway between the two. This has left me with a uneven canopy, but having 3 lights hopefully means I can adjust distance between each one.
First time lollipoping and feels strange removing a decent amount.
Reduced nutrient concentration and raised pH to 6.2 to check if plants are having trouble absorbing calcium or magnesium for a few days, slight blue color to some leaves. Currently mixing a days amount of water/nutrient usage (15ltr).
Turned QB's up to 75% or 180 watts each.
3000k QB has a very different color to it making the plants underneath it look very different compared to just when the 3500k QB's are on.
All in all I think they are going okay.
Things ticking along nicely.
Jack Herer is really liking the ScRog setup and covers just under half of the tent and budding up nicely.
Both the Amnesia and LA Confidential are a lot shorter and not as well suited for this ScRog grow but are very dense and sticky with the buds feeling a lot more solid than Jack.
The nutrient solution seems to be spot on for the Jack, maybe a little bit too nutrient hot for the LA and the leaves of the amnesia look the most over feed, with the odd discoloration and hardness of them but still okay.
Jack is at 50cm from the QB'S with no issues and the other ones at 60cm, with the difference being Jack is 10cm taller than the others.
Humidity is still a bit high for my liking which I am going to remove the QB's drivers to a external room to try and reduce temperature (gets up to 26°c and RH rises to in-between 60-70%.)
Monster crop clones were taken on the 2/7/21 from each plant using jiffy disks and hormone with all looking alright and several with visible roots 10 days later.
Now just leaf tucking to expose bud nodes, mainly on the Jack.
If I was to ScRog again I will probably go with a single strain like Jack Herer and Sog the other two.
Currently trying to get a better understanding of nutrient concentrations between using the autopots and the traditional watering of coco to runoff, which I think the feeding recommendations on the bottles are for.
4 plants are using 15ltr/day of nutrient solutions.
A fourth 240w+660nm QB should be here tomorrow in 3500k which could be used during the day in the tent and removed at night for the cutting's.
Would someone mind looking at my pictures and tell me if they are looking right ?, as in the bud site numbers, spread, 5 weeks into flower, etc..
Thanks
Your plants look great. Feel free to send me a sample after harvest.
I would reduce the nitrogen. The leaves look very green for flower. It's OK during veg but you want less during flower. Don't cut it completely out but maybe try 1/2 nitrogen and see how they respond. If you get bottom leaves yellowing you might need more N.
You have a lot of nice looking buds on top. There will be others that emerge down lower. I would prune those lower ones off. They will be shaded and not develop well and will take resources that should go to the prime ones on top.
The bud sites are fine and the flowers look like week three of flower. but I think you pushed to many for an auto flower especially with a sog. Be careful with there stretch I would cut the lowers and sides ASAP or your colas are gonna be the size of fingers instead of fists or pop cans. Sometimes less is more especially with autos. Good luck
